The crew on our Trilogy sunset dinner cruise--Kayden, Kevin, Michelle, and Captain Kukii--did an amazing job making the evening unforgettable. The level of service exceeded our expectations from beginning to end. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made us feel incredibly well taken care of throughout the cruise. The four-course meal was stellar and much better than we expected from food served on a boat. Everything was fresh, beautifully prepared, and delicious. Between the incredible crew, exceptional service, wonderful food, beautiful ocean views, and Maui sunset, this was the perfect way to end our time in Maui. We couldn't have asked for a better final evening on the island.

Could have sworn I did review for this company last year after we did an all day trip to Lanai, but apparently not! Realize this when we were in Kauai and met one of the cofounders and his wife in the elevator! Very nice people. That said, my husband and I had an amazing day. Lovely, large catamaran, we sat down and the excellent customer service started immediately. Drinks, cinnamon rolls, and total pampering! We stopped in Lanai, were able to hike/walk or take a golf cart to in other part of the island where we snorkel for a while. They had a in water photographer, who was incredible, forgot her name now, but she took some great pictures of us and had a lot of fun doing it. Then off to a large mess hall basically, where there was lots of delicious food and continued hospitality and fun by this energetic staff. Eventually, we had to get back on board and we were able to see playful dolphins all around us. We were pampered again with my ties and assorted other tropical drinks! And we were sadly brought back to Lahaina with lots of happy memories.

During our recent Maui family vacation, we had the pleasure of experiencing the West Maui snorkeling adventure with Trilogy Excursions, and it was an absolutely fabulous day! From the beginning to end, the experience was wonderful. We enjoyed delicious cinnamon rolls and fresh fruit for breakfast, followed by a tasty teriyaki chicken meal for lunch. Unlimited drinks, snacks and beverages were available throughout the excursion, which was a nice touch. The highlight of our adventure was undoubtedly the incredible marine life we encountered while snorkeling and exploring the beautiful waters of West Maui. We saw sea turtles, dolphins, colorful tropical fish, and even reef sharks! It was truly an amazing experience and something we will never forget. The crew went above and beyond welcoming us and tending to our every need during the day. We made some incredible family memories and would absolutely sail with Trilogy again!

We had an amazing experience on our sunset cruise with Trilogy Excursions. The staff were amazing! They took really great care of us. The excursion we were on advertised as serving appetizers and drinks. The drinks were great! I loved the Mai Tai. It was an open bar and they made sure we had plenty. The appetizers.... delicious. It was my last full day in Maui and this excursion was definitely the cherry on top!! The view was amazing! I highly recommend this excursion

Wow! What an incredible experience with the Trilogy team! Captain Carrie and her crew of Kevin, Bex and Morgan went above and beyond during our snorkeling trip! We started off the morning with homemade cinnamon roles and POG juice - so delicious! We went snorkeling at Honolua Bay and it was absolutely incredible. We saw beautiful coral, colorful fish and even sea turtles!! I had to squeeze my husband's hand because it was so magical!! After snorkeling, we ate lunch consisting of teriyaki chicken, rice, and salad! We were stuffed and the crew came around asking if anyone wanted seconds. On our sail home, we got the special 4th of July drink (since it was 4th of July, of course) which was a twist on their margarita. We had 2 glasses and then they served ice cream for dessert. Overall it was an incredible experience and I would recommend them to anyone staying in Maui! Our crew was super friendly, knowledge and made sure we got everything we needed. Thank you Trilogy team for making our snorkeling experience unforgettable!!

What an amazing day. We did the 5-hour snorkeling trip to Molokini Crater. This is a top-notch company. My wife had never snorkeled before. Emma was amazing just seeing her in the water and being right there with a boogie board for her. The lunch was amazing. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone.

We've been on a few Trilogy sails now and every one is as fantastic as the last- today was serviced by Chris & Caydn & the thing about Trilogy is that is always feels calm, relaxed and a little bit like family Nice to see them leaving out of Lāhainā again- we mostly snorkel on our own around Hawaii but my family has great memories with Trilogy and we'd like to see them succeed post fire - they've been back in Lāhainā now for a month (using other ports as well before this reopened) and have that same Aloha spirit they're known for (don't sleep on the cinnamon rolls, lunch, drinks and ice cream sundaes: all on your sail!) To me they're the only company to sail with

Update 2/26 We are here for the Annual Company Boat Whale Watch. Music , drinks, food and Aloha! Invitation Only! Mahalo Two hours plus later. We had an amazing experience on a superior sailing catamaran. We saw Whales, activity, great dinner and drinks. A Adventure

Exceptional service from all decks on hand, quite literally. From the moment the first mate, Brayden, helped you on board to the accommodating service provided by Katherine it was a perfect evening. We boarded and set sail promptly at 5:00 pm, returning just shy of 8:00 pm. Once settled on board, drinks were served, appetizers were spaced out, dinner service was confirmed and dessert with coffee rounded out the evening. We coasted along with a few key whale shots, the wind picked up, so the captain anchored down in the five, Kate literally put on her snorkel gear and tied off in the middle of the ocean. We treaded for dinner service with an open bar. The service was phenomenal, the staff made you feel like you were catching up with old friends. Laughter was contagious.during dessert blankets were passed out for the journey back to the marina, if it got too windy you could go inside instead of braving the elements. A true 10/10 experience...boom you sunset cruise, dinner cruise or snorkel by day excursion you will not be disappointed.

After over 10 years, we were back on Maui and ready to do another Trilogy cruise. This time we did a Sunset Whale Watching cruise. We left from Maalaea Harbor and took a 2-hour cruise that included drinks and heavy appetizers. The crew were amazing and made sure we had everything we needed, as well as answered all of our questions about whales. We saw so many whales and had a wonderful time! Our 5-year-old loved sitting on the net in the front of the boat and the warm chocolate chip cookies at the end. We highly recommend Trilogy and will be back next time we are on Maui!

Best vegan lunch in Hawaii is where? On the Trilogy!

Absolutely extraordinary. Captain Nick was the stuff. He even helped get a whale help from NOAA while we were on board (sick whale, possibly entangled, reported by Cap'n Nick!). Maurice took care of us like a Baywatch guardian! He rode the waves on his boogies board and watched out for us. We felt very safe knowing he was our sheepdog! Clay was hilarious but made sure we knew how to snorkel safely (and to look good doing it!). He had us laughing but he definitely wants you to do the right thing and be safe. Brooke shared her experience with Manta rays with me! She showed me her video. She was also really helpful while we were hanging out with a dolphin! She knews her stuff. This crew is off the chain, I imagine them hanging out on the land, all a bunch of dedicated and kind hearted people who love the ocean and its inhabitants! We are vegan and were afraid we would be met with scorn. Opposite was true! Two different crew members said to us, "are you my vegans?" It was so loving and kind, and not with the usual side eye. They made a scrumptious lunch for us - salad, quinoa and chickpea salad, and a delicious wrap. Even the coffee was amazing. The snorkeling was off the chain. Such great locations they brought us to - first on the Molokini crater, with tons of great fish. We even spotted an eel out there! The next spot was Turtle Town. We saw lots of fish and had an excellent time in the water. We spotted dolphins on our way back, and saw loads of humpbacks on the way out and back in - yes, including our sick friend, who I hope has gotten some help since we were out there.

We had a great sunset cruise. Captain and crew were very nice and friendly. Weather wasn't great but sun was still shining. They also had a separate company on board to take professional pictures. My husband had an old fashion which he said wasn't good. But that's about it for negatives.

Had an awesome time doing SNUBA with Trilogy. Riley was super nice, made everything really easy and fun, and took great care of us the whole time. He even hooked me up with an extra cinnamon roll . Definitely made the experience even better. Would 100% recommend!

Trilogy Excursions Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Trilogy Excursions

Hi, we have 2.5 yr old with us? Will we be still able to participate in the snorkeling activities?

Likely not, to young

We are coming in January to take your tour. Is it likely that we will get seasick? Do people often get seasick on your tours?

No one on our tour was sick. It is very open and fairly smooth sailing the whole way.

Is there toilets on the boat to lanai?

We had two of them onboard. They are tiny but functional. If you plan to change in there I wouldn't especially since it's lower on the vessel and can get rocky

How many passengers are on a snorkeling tour?

We went in late May (2022) and there were approx 30. When we booked the 6:30am boat (to Lanai), the 10:00am was sold out. (So maybe less ppl on the early morning sail?) If…

Looking for recommendations for the best snorkeling tour with Trilogy this Sept/Oct?

I definitely recommend trilogy, my friend went on a different tour the day before me to molokini, when comparing our experiences our was way better by far, the food drinks and space aboard our boat was better by far

My husband walks with a cane and has some mobility issues. Is there a tour for him?

We did the sunset sail on Maui and it was very accessible. You're sitting the entire ride. They feed you an amazing dinner with drinks! It's wonderful!

How long were the snorkel swim times? I've had some let you go for a couple hours which still flies by. Some I've only got a dip in for 30 mins and it felt so rushed.

We took the 6:30 tour. Once there, we walked to the beach, got a safety talk, then had until 11 to meet for lunch (or 10 for a "nature walk". So, plenty of time to snorkel.

Is it a big boat? How many people can be on board?

Big is relative. It holds around 50 people. You will have plenty of space and seating. Obviously some seats are more sought after than others but it really depends on the person

I emailed customer service but haven't heard back. Adding the Snuba option is pricey. How long do you actually get to Snuba for? Is it just at one of the two stops (we're looking at the Molokini Tour?

Great question! I’d recommend being cautious with the SNUBA option on the Molokini tour. When booking online, Trilogy presents SNUBA as a single $90 upgrade ($79.85 plus taxes/fees), which makes it seem like the full experience. What’s not disclosed…

Read where it says they provide flotation devices (required for safety reasons). Are you required to wear them while snorkeling?

Yes. They want to be able to see people snorkeling plus it helps you be in the snorkeling position. They have the flotation belt or a vest. Better safe than sorry!!

Are any floatation devices or life vests provided? My mom cannot swim very well. Will she still be able to snorkel with a vest?

Trilogy provides a belt style flotation device. They also have boogie boards you can hold onto.

Staying on Maui and looking for a good snorkel tour. This company has great reviews but there are many different tours. Which would you recommend for the best snorkeling? Thanks!

We researched a number of the snorkeling options s before making our final plans and chose Trilogy. We are so happy we did. It was a highlight of our trip. The crew was great. The Snuba guide had a Marine Biology background and was extremely…

I'm traveling alone will it be fun?

I think you will enjoy it! There were lots of couples (we were celebrating our anniversary) and there were also groups of friends who went. The crew is awesome and we were lucky enough to see a mama with her calf. The food was great too!

What is the best sailing to take with a baby?

Aloha Jennifer B. and mahalo for your question! We have found that the Discover Lanaʻi tour can be one of the best options for touring with a baby. This tour leaves Lahaina and sails to the island of Lanaʻi where guests get off the boat and can…

Absolutely Incredible Excursion--Whales, Dolphins, and Snorkeling!…read more We had an absolutely incredible time on this whale and snorkel excursion! The departure location at Mala Ramp in Lahaina was incredibly easy to find. From start to finish, the staff was both friendly and highly knowledgeable. The boat itself was very comfortable, and because they limit the tour's capacity, the experience never felt crowded and was thoroughly enjoyable. The wildlife we saw was unforgettable--we lucked out and spotted bottlenose dolphins, spinner dolphins, and even a mother and baby humpback whale! We also got to snorkel at two absolutely beautiful stops. They kept us well-fed throughout the day, providing a nice continental breakfast, lunch, and a snack at the end, along with plenty of soda and water. The only downside--which was completely unavoidable--was that crossing the channel on the way back from Lanai to Maui was very choppy. If you have any neck or back issues, I would not suggest this excursion. But if that's not a concern for you, this is an awesome excursion and we thoroughly enjoyed our day trip!

I had never been on a whale watching tour before…read more Being here while the humpback whales were chilling in Maui was an experience I'll never forget. Finding the spot initially was a little confusing, we were the last ones to show up! You are given a number based on when you arrive and you choose a seat on the boat. There is a captain and a naturalist on board who talks about the whales. If you're sitting in the back of the boat, you really can't hear what's being said so sit at the front or in the middle. We circled around and got to see a baby whale breech the water! Such magnificent animals. When a microphone was lowered in the water, we could hear the whales "singing." Did you know it's only the males that do this? The time goes by reallllly fast, so just enjoy being out there.

Captain James and First Hand Mindy ran that boat like true ocean pros steady hands, sharp eyes, knowing the water like family. Soon as we cleared the harbor, whales everywhere. Huge humpbacks breaching, tail-slaps rolling across the channel, blowholes firing like steam bursts. And the scenery? Unbeatable. Beautiful, scenic rainbows stretching over the ocean, mountains shining behind us, whole place looking like it was made just for that moment. We cruised through the swells like an old-school whaling crew, everyone along the gunwale waiting for the next giant to rise. Mindy calling out, "Port bow!" and boom another massive tail popping up to say aloha. For the price, the views, the whole vibe worth every cent.
