5 Stars for Prestige Subaru Sales in Pleasantville, NY If…read moreyou're looking for a car dealership that actually feels personal, friendly, and stress-free, Prestige Subaru Sales is the place to go. I like to call them a 'boutique' dealership because they're smaller than those mega-lots with acres ofcars -- and that's exactly why we love them. Over the years, we've purchased and leased three vehicles from Prestige: a VW Bug, a used Subaru, and most recently a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek that we're currently leasing. Every experience has been smooth, honest, and enjoyable. We've worked with the same sales agent for nearly 20 years, and she has always gone above and beyond for us. She takes the time to understand our needs, works within our budget, and never makes us feel pressured. That kind of long-term trust is rare these days. The service department deserves praise too -- professional, dependable, and also easy to work with. It's clear the entire dealership values relationships, not just transactions. Another thing we really appreciate: if you have a specific Subaru or VW in mind and it's not on their lot, they'll track it down for you. With the Crosstrek being in such high demand, that kind of effort really matters. This September we'll be deciding whether to purchase our Crosstrek or lease another vehicle, and there's no question where we'll be going. Prestige Subaru Sales has earned our loyalty time and time again. If you don't love the idea of wandering through acres of cars and just want people who treat you right, give Prestige a visit. You'll be glad you did.

I had the worst customer service experience at Prestige Subaru, Pleasantville. I made an…read moreappointment to bring my car in because I was due for a 90K maintenance service and my Tire Pressure Monitor kept going off. On Wednesday, I made an appointment for Saturday at 8:15am. I drop my car off at 8:10am, the manager said they will do a diagnostic to see why the TPMS Sensor kept going off/what work I should get done for my maintenance. The manager said the diagnostic takes an hour and they will text the video to my phone. If I do not respond to the video within 10 minutes, they would do all of the recommended work. At 12pm I had not heard anything, so I decided to call to check in. When the manager answered she seemed very annoyed that I called. She said that they had many walk-ins, so they hadn't been able to work on my car, and the diagnostic would be sent to me by 2:00pm. By 4:00pm I still had heard nothing, so I drove there to pick up my car. At that point they did 0 work!!! What is the point of making an appointment if walk-ins get serviced before you? I highly recommend that nobody services their car in Pleasantville!

The most important part was their openness and honesty. We felt like part of their family through the whole process. We have already recommended them to 2 other people. Also what really impressed me is that Jay is not your average car salesman. He has worked with my dad since the early 2000's which was when I first met him. I randomly ran into him one day after my son was born and he remembered who I was and that I had a son. This was about 10 years since we first met. Fast forward another few years to another random encounter and he remembers me again. "Dad says you have a daughter now too? About a year now?" From past experiences with other salesman elsewhere I've gotten questions about my two daughters (when I was barely a newlywed), how the family in the Hampton's are and other incorrect "notes". We are now loyal customers and look forward to doing business for years to come. We actually wish we would've gone there years ago.

I'm filing a complaint with the DMV. I should've sued your asses. The first time I brought my car there they had it for six weeks and just let it sit outside and made no effort to fix it and I ended up having to call Chrysler to get on their case. The second time they had it for three months. I walked in, handed Joe a piece of paper explaining exactly what needed to be done but he chose to ignore it and instead did a bunch of stuff which I already had done not long ago and they charged me $2150.00. On the way home I broke down. When I went back, I said Joe, "just do the work on the piece of paper I gave you". It was a seventy-five dollar job for which he didn't charge me because he knew that they just got screwed me out of $2150.00. My wife did the research on the web and knew what had to be done but apparently these guys just go headfirst into doing a job without any knowledge of what to do. My wife, with no experience or knowledge of cars knew more than they did. Don't have your car repaired there unless your car is under warranty or you want to get ripped off.

I found several cars I could afford close by, but they didn't feel legitimate. I found a car online at Audi Hawthorne (the NY, not in NJ!) I e-mailed an inquiry, and Perry Snitkin in sales at Hawthorne answered. Perry was patient and understanding. We went back and forth with phone calls, e-mails, and texts, dozens of times, I even had a problem and couldn't show up as promised one morning. And he NEVER got aggravated. I realized he was a not a BS salesman, and I trusted him! All this for a car that was a trade in and he was NOT going to make a fortune on! Though there were similar cars much closer to me, I paid for an Uber, went, and bought the car sight unseen! I would give him and the dealership 10 stars if I could. The car was perfect and the warranty they give is exceptional. The dealership is also incredible to see, beautiful area. Sincerely, Michael Hirak

Their price to replace? Over $1,000. Yes, you read that correctly. Reading other reviews, it appears that Hawthorne practically gives the cars away so they can feed their highly-profitable "service" labyrinth. Sales picks up the phone right away, but good luck getting anyone on the phone for "service." My advice? Either find another service shop through Costco or buy a different brand. My 2001 TT is a blast to drive - when it works - but a very expensive and time-sucking toy to maintain.
