I've read the other negative reviews and I don't think it's right to give a location negative comments based off of same-day scheduling. 9 times out of 10 you can't find that anywhere in Santa Fe. Book your appointments in advance like a grown adult and show up early to check in, so you don't make everyone else's appointments late behind you & cause the employees to drive home late. I scheduled a standard personal blood panel online, arrived to have my blood drawn and was asked if I was prepared to give a urine sample. "No, I only scheduled a blood panel." "Well if you're not able to give a urine sample I'll have to put this test on hold." "I didn't pay for a urine test." "But the computer says..." Back and forth. At no point did she check her computer to see what tests were being performed, or any attempt to explain why I might have an unexpected urine test. I actually asked her if she was going to force me to provide urine before drawing blood for the test I paid for. She was visibly frustrated that I was refusing a urine test that I didn't want or ask for. If the computer said it's what I ordered, she was going to perform what the computer said and not spend even a moment to confirm that she was preparing to perform the correct test. Unprofessional, potentially dangerous, potentially a privacy issue if they aren't even checking their tests. I left because I wasn't about to have this visibly frustrated person stick a needle in me without knowing why they are doing tests or having the care to be able to explain anything at all.

I've had more than a thousand blood draws between labs and hospital stays. That's not an exaggeration. If anything it might be an understatement. This location has some of the best phlebotomists I've ever encountered. Today Paula drew my blood. She was very thorough and smooth. I didn't even feel the needle. She handled my blood thinner issues like a pro and I didn't even bleed at all - a rarity when I'm not even on blood thinners!

This was my first visit to Tricore Reference Labs. I had been under the impression that they opened…read moreat 7 AM. That is wrong, they open at 8 AM. However, you might still want to get their really early, because the line is LONG getting in to get some blood work done. I got there at 7:30 AM. I was second in line. The next 30 minutes a lot of people showed up to have blood drawn. They were efficient. We scanned a QR-Code to determine our place in line. Someone would come out, announce that number and in you'd go. You let them know you're there at the desk. Then wait again for them to call that number you got earlier when you scanned the QR-Code with your phone. Once you get in to see someone to draw you blood (which is really soon), they're really quick to get the blood drawn. Then you're on your way. Very efficient, quick and friendly.

I was treated by Candace and she was fantastic, she saw the issue with the insurance and still made sure I didn't go home without my flu shot. She is filing a claim with my insurance manually and gave me a receipt, just in case I need to file for an out-of-network reimbursement. Candace is a knowledgeable, professional, patient and caring person!
