We loved our stay at Trickle Creek cabins! Everything about it from the owners to the cabins to the area and the amenities were 5 stars. The owners are awesome and so wonderful to work with. We had to change our travel dates and they made everything so easy and helped us figure everything out. While we were there we had to switch cabins because we stayed an extra night and our first cabin was already booked, the owner allowed us to stay in our original cabin late while she cleaned our new cabin and then let us move in early. What customer service! They are great owners! The cabins themselves are so nice and stocked with everything you need. They had plates, silverware, cups, roasting sticks, and everything you could possibly need there for us. The cabin was extremely clean and well taken care of. There are multiple grills and picnic tables for you to use. They even have horseshoes by every cabin. There is a private hot tub for every cabin also. There is a beautiful pond where you can catch and release. It is about a 15 minute drive to Glen Rose where you have a lot of family options. If I was going to be super picky the only negative is that there sign on the entrance was hard to see and we got a little lost. Definitely a 5 star business though. If you are in the area you definitely need to stay at Trickle Creek Cabins.

We stayed here in a couple summers ago and were quite impressed. Our cabin was clean, stocked, and homey. Tons of room, a tv, decor so charming and country. We had BBQ grill and a fire pit, as well as an adjacent hot tub. Nice view of a pond, and each morning baby frogs emerged. We were in close proximity to the Granbury beach area and the dinosaur parks. We really enjoyed our stay and would come back.

Such a great experience here. Would definitely return! We stayed in Creek Side and Morning Glory. They are located right across from a pond, which was nice to walk out and see each morning. The cabins are cozy and cute. Comfy beds and sheets, creative and fun decorations, and it really felt homey. The kitchen is supplied with everything you could possibly want and more! The bathroom had plenty of towels and basic toiletries provided. The cabin was incredibly clean. Each cabin has a grill, fire pit, picnic tables, chairs, and lots of space. There are short trails to walk and see beautiful wild flowers. I love that pets are welcome at no additional charge. Was able to bring the whole family! The dogs loved exploring and there was plenty of room for them also. My dogs enjoyed walking in the pond. The owner was very sweet and so accommodating. We had to switch cabins one day, and were concerned about our old dog having to hang outside with us in the heat between the hours of check out and check in. She came down to our new cabin to get it ready, and let us check in immediately to avoid having the dog outside. So thoughtful and was a huge help! Loved this place, and can't wait to go back!

Great stay. We went midweek spring break and had a blast. "Morning Glory" was well worth the name.

I am so happy I found Popejoy Haus Cabins in Glen Rose! I live in Dallas and when I travel, it's…read morealways by airplane to some other state. It's shameful how I haven't taken the time to explore the awesome places to get away right in my own backyard. Well, now that I know about this gem located five minutes from Dinosaur Valley State Park, I am sure to make the quick hour-and-a-half drive more often. I found Popejoy Haus Cabins with a simple Google search when I decided the week of Easter that I wanted to take an impromptu vacation that weekend. The website is easy to navigate and very informative, with lots of great pictures and descriptions of each cabin on the property. Using the information on the "Contact Us" page, I emailed Klare Popejoy inquiring about availability and she replied within 6 hours that one cabin was available--Gunter's Nest. I contacted her by phone to work out the details and she was very flexible and accommodating. I also liked that she took my credit card number to hold the room, but didn't put a charge on it like many places do. I'll admit that when I booked Gunter's Nest, the pictures I had viewed had prepared me for it to be a little cramped and small, but it was so comfortable and charming. We were very pleasantly surprised. It was secluded, just like the website had said--surrounded by trees and other flora--and the hot tub on the patio was inviting. The interior was perfect for two people, with all the amenities of home but the added comfort of being away. The king-sized bed was comfy (and a nice change from my full-size!) and my traveling partner spent a lot of time enjoying the recliner. And although the property feels tucked away, you are just a few minutes from downtown Glen Rose (and some AMAZING BBQ) and a 15-minute drive to Granbury, if you'd like to spend an evening in a slightly larger town. It was perfect for our weekend getaway. The Popejoys offer you free reign to explore the grounds, which includes a small, enclosed area with goats and chickens, and a game room with ping-pong and pool tables. I will for sure be returning to Gunter's Nest, or maybe I will try one of the other cabins next time. Klare and the Popejoys are very gracious hosts, even offering us a plate of home-baked goodies upon our arrival. I highly recommend these cabins for your next weekend getaway.

I can't believe there is only one review for this place posted on here! My husband and I have…read morestayed at Popejoy Haus several times over the years and there are many reasons why we keep returning. First of all, you couldn't get a better hostess than Klare Popejoy. She is very gracious and accommodating and genuinely cares about the state of her cabins and well-being of her guests. You can tell by the very clean well-kept cabins with hand-painted decorations that there is a lot of love involved. Klare also greets guests with an unbelievable plate of homemade treats every time... I start salivating on the way there in anticipation! Now, about the cabins- each one (aside from the one up next to the main house) is nestled back in its own little area in the woods down its own private road. You will not see another person while you are there, although you Will see plenty of birds and butterflies, maybe even a bunny! The Popejoys also have their own critters you can feed or pet if you are feeling adventurous. There's a donkey and some goats and I got a kick out of feeding them carrots when we went before. Each cabin is appointed with the aforementioned handmade décor as well as comfy beds and quaint furniture. Best of all- each cabin has its own private hot tub out in the back! Sitting in a hot tub with your honey sipping a glass of wine under the stars... is there anything better?! We have stayed in I believe all of the cabins there by now and have yet to be anything but pleased. If you're looking to have a great little getaway to enjoy the stillness and peace of the country while being close enough to a town to go grab dinner or shop, you could not do any better than Popejoy Haus! Do yourself a favor and book a couple days as soon as you can!
