We have stayed in agglomeration cabins and rental homes over the years and really appreciate those that go above and beyond- these did not. Having a list of things to do around the city, which is very small, would have been nice. Or the option of renting a fishing pole, maybe even a loaner that were could check out for the day would have been nice. We are not fishing people, we have never been so offering that would be nice. The is a place to have a fire bur no wood, again it would be nice if that was something included. Overall, the cabin was just that- a place to stay to sleep. Not much else in regards to activities. If I were to make a suggestion: 1. Have fishing rods (cheap, crappy ones) that guests could borrow 2. List of family fun activities close by 3. List of good places to eat 4. Any great places top see, shop or stop by the locals know about but out-of-towners would not It's a great place to just get away and relax, just a little lost as far as what to do around there.

Julie and her crew took such great care of us. Even made last minute arrangements to bring our breakfast to our room! Which, was AMAZING btw! The bed was crazy comfortable and the tv had streaming service, so my wife didn't get bored while I was recouping. Julie even made sure we had Tylenol. The inn is clean, well maintained and cozy. I called and they help me pick out a room and two weeks later I arrived. I was greeted at the door and shown to my room and welcomed and felt at home. There was fresh sugar cookies and a bottle of wine complementary to their guests. Julie recommended a restaurant on the Square and it was a short 10 minute walk on a pathway to the Square which was a beautiful scenic walk. We found the restaurant Christina's and had a delicious wonderful meal. We sat in the porch and enjoyed the squirrels playing in the trees. Breakfast was at 9:00 am and we visited with 3 other couples. It was a delightful time. The new owners are doing an amazing job. Come check them out.

Incredible high end buffet curated by the Master Chef, Gerard Thompson. We were served the freshest fruits/specialty salads, multiple brunch items using fresh locally raised ingredients, a melt in your mouth beef tenderloin, sushi grade tuna rolls, and ending with delectable deserts. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and there were plenty of activities to do across the property. I tried my hand at archery, axe throwing, and lasso (among other things for the first time), and the team there were patient and friendly throughout it all. My accommodations were great, I appreciated little touches like the eye mask and earplugs, and I also enjoyed the food as well. If you want a getaway with family, or a business group, this could be a good option!

Across the road (very short walk) is Gulf Hamburgers. A very nostalgic cute place with the BEST burgers! You get your moneys worth with every bite. On our last night we again enjoyed our meal-brisket tacos and a burger bowl. The servings are huge and delicious. This night was open mic and we enjoyed music and all the friendly people. This place is just beginning and we will return. Happy we found it and stayed in the beginning knowing more to come. A very unique place with area history.

Had we stayed, we would have been parked approximately 100 feet from a busy 3-4 lane highway. This was not what I would consider a campground experience. Our cabin was really nice and clean.The pool was relaxing and very short walk from our cabin. The Hideaway has plenty of activities (fishing,horseback riding,hiking and stargaze)that you can plan for if you have the time which I highly recommend. The nights at Hideaway Ranch are very quiet and the stars on clear nights were breath taking. Morning breakfast at Hideaway Ranch The Buffalo Nickel was very good. The staff were also very polite and they had some time to talk to us about some of the history of the ranch. We were very happy with the hospitality that was shown to us by all the staff. We look forward to our next visit and hope to make Hideaway Ranch a family tradition to visit. Thank you Hideaway Ranch for such a great memorable time.

There are more cons then pros , just our opinion…read more Our cabin needed a deep clean, the water was VERY cool (far from hot), the air condition in the room was not cold (filter needed a deep clean), there was bugs and the hot tub had lots of leaves. Pros were it is in the middle of no where, quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Had the thugs above been fixed we would be back. For $360 for two nights, strictly my opinion.. we won't be back.

So this is really more of a 2.5 stars. Not a bad place, all spots have 30A and 50A hookups as well…read moreas water and sewer. It is right off a highway so if road noise bothers you I'd look somewhere else. The interior roads are all gravel and the entry is a bit confusing at night. Be extra careful to not drag your wheels off the side either (Especially on the west...) because you'd be stuck for good. Most the people here seem like they are full timers so the number of transient spots is pretty limited but everyone was quiet and pretty much kept to themselves. It is an added bonus though if you are travelling with horses because they have accommodations for that for some extra cost. Several pull through spots as well as some that you have to back in to. Make sure and scout your area before unhooking. I saw the power/water utilities and assumed that was the hookup side. Turned out that the sewer was on the other side (Along with a dual water/electric hookup for the two spots there) and didn't realize it until I was unhooked, jacked and leveled. We just waited until we left to turn around and dump, but it would have been a hassle if we were there for much longer. We called the owner Thursday night to ask where to park and he got us set up just fine. Didn't meet him until Saturday but was a polite guy running a reasonably clean place that serves a niche market. He has another guy on site more or less full time for emergencies but prefers to handle most regular business himself. We'd probably stay here again since the road noise didn't bother us especially at $20/night, but if there was a place further back off the highway where we could let the kids play a little more we'd probably prefer that.
