It is very evident the water has been below full capacity for some time. Once we set up, we were happy and any disappointment abated. Although we had no view of the lake, it was close by and the oak trees provided a nice shade. Deer were abundant and the lake provided for good fishing. Our site had full hook up and was adequately graveled & fairly level. The site was clean & maintained with a nice concrete picnic table set on a concrete slab under a shelter. We even got 4 over the air TV channels. One, a local CBS station. A nice, quiet area. I would have enjoyed several days!

The cabin was very clean and worked great for our family of four. The only hiccups with the cabin is the microwave didn't work...so no popcorn for my son. They also don't provide either shampoo or soap... or maybe it's a combo. They have one pump on the wall but no clue what it is. The grounds have lots to do. There is a fishing pond but it looked very drained. They have a little inside area with a pool table, games and puzzles. Outside they have a playscape, volleyball net and fire pit. The highlight of the trip had to be the animals. While the petting zoo is cute, you can't really get in with the animals. At the safari, we spent so much time laughing!!! Beware of the ostrich... it is aggressively after your food!!! We had so much fun. The main animals that eat from you are at the beginning and end.

I think we were the only RV camping this weekend that wasn't longer term so it was super quiet. We pulled up and immediately had ostrich checking us out. The kids loved it. RV pad was gravel but pretty level. There's no shade but if the trees at each site survive it will eventually provide some relief. The site has water, electric, your own dump drain and a picnic table. The bathrooms were clean with showers and laundry facilities. The youngest enjoyed the play area and we all liked the petting zoo area. The driving safari was fun. We went early so it was still cool and the animals we're still active. We saw pretty much everything that was on the brochure except the watusi. Yes, the land is suffering due to the drought and heat but that is all of central Texas right now. The animals all looked healthy and had multiple water sources available. Plus lots of babies! The baby bison, including a nearly white one, were super cute. The adults were impressive. We had a very inquisitive ostrich who reached through the window to take a whole bag of food! I grabbed it back but it was pretty hilarious. He knows the system! As do the llamas. We did a second drive through around 4pm and the heat had driven most of the animals to the shade but we did get better views of the wildebeest and more attention from all the bison. That evening we dropped in to the community room and played pool and some board games. Yes, some of the items are hard worn and need replacing, but for kids it was still plenty fun. The woman working the front desk was super friendly and helpful. Overall, we'll worth the hour or so drive here to get away for the weekend. Almost anything you need you can get from a dollar store about a mile away.

Benbrook Lake is…read morea fine place to escape the city without actually leaving the city, with several different options for day use and camping on all sides of the lake. The attendant gave us a combination lock code for access and asked that we lock it behind us whether coming or leaving. There were no electric outlets that we could find and the toilets were essentially permanent portapotties, which smelled like death and were crawling with spiders. Yep, inside the toilet holes. Yuck. But other than that, the 11 site campground was actually quite beautiful: plenty of oak trees providing shade, fairly large sites, long parking lanes, and the creek itself, although mostly dry this late in the summer, probably would be very nice earlier in the year. There are iron fire pits with a small grill attached, and the picnic tables are under shelters. We paid $10 for a Saturday night, which was just fine for an evening under the stars.

The office closes at 3 pm. The showers seemed run down but what you may expect from other things there. With all that said the price was decent but we had rather pay a bit more for better quality. The restaurants in the area while not their fault also was lacking. It felt like this whole area was a bit run down and lower end.

We even got to get in the pool and have a nice cooled off evening. Shower rooms clean and nice. Very well taken care of overall. Nice puppy park for those with dogs. Nice walking loop. Small playground for the kids. Staff was spectacular! Done right!

There were a few…read moretrailers with broken windows, it flooded from the rain and it smelled like sewage, the ants were awful, cigarette butts all over that my toddler kept trying to pick up, we were told we couldn't take our kids around the RV park "that's why the play structure is there". We wouldn't stay here again. Decent for overnight, but we just had such a negative experience. The pool looked clean and the play structure was in good repairs.

The restrooms are pretty clean but the showers get backed up so you're standing in ankle deep water yuck the laundry room takes at least guarantee 2hrs to wash and dry a load. It's also $2 and up to wash and dry each load. It's noisy being right off the inter state but honestly not too bad. We can't wait for another rv park to have an opening for long term. It is small and has trees and the noise level is low. I mean it's not bad honestly and decent prices also

The major attraction of this place is that they have a repair facility next door, and if you have…read morean issue with your rig, you can stop here and they will work on it at your campsite. We spent two nights here so that their guru could get our tongue jack working properly again. Other than that, the camp is middling. The restrooms and showers are clean but tiny; there's no soap at the sinks (or doggy bags in the park) because "people steal stuff." (Liquid soap dispensers don't solve that?) The sites are mostly graveled and not more than middling level. Lots of "thou shall not" signs in the park. The neighborhood is quiet, and the other guests were not bothersome. The laundry was very clean and affordable, with its own share of rule signs. Park management and repair personnel were all very personable. You have to check in at the repair center on the main drag before proceeding around to camp on the back road, so don't make that mistake. I would not stay here for the ambience, but the repair convenience is considerable.
