This was a great little find after being good and having a salad for dinner. Oh yeah, my reward!…read moreThis place was recommended by some people who overheard my conversation with my sister, suggesting we find an ice cream place for dessert. Some people more familiar with the area chimed in about this place. It's a little hard to find if you don't know what you're looking for, as it's very small and surprisingly, there was no line, that is until after we got there. They make the ice cream daily from milk from a local dairy. Flavors like Toasted Vanilla, which has the subtle taste of burnt marshmallow, were unique and delicious. I opted for that and the Salted Caramel, which was also yum-mee! The ice cream is velvety smooth and really creamy. It's gelato style, and with the amount you get and the quality, prices are more than fair. My sister had just gotten back from the shore where she spent 7 bucks on a cone! This was $9 for 2. They have the ingredients hand written on a sign when you first walk in, and light corn syrup is crossed out. They leave that out for healthier ingredients. So you can see all the ingredients, no chemicals, all natural, with none of the bad stuff in there, except maybe sugar. So let's review: Local dairy, made daily, and all natural ingredients you can pronounce. You're still sitting there reading this? Well get going to go get one!

Parking: street however I think there is a small driveway where you can park. Atmosphere: very bright and quaint. It's very small inside so it's not really good for a big group. You'll have to go in a few at a time. Service: The servers were very nice. They Gove you a sample if you ask. Their ice cream is made in limited batches on their premises with local ingredients. I love that! I had the chocolate and It was good. They also have sorbet. I had the pineapple, and it was delicious. My friend had espresso and mint chocolate chip; they liked the espresso. Overall, we enjoyed this place and we will go back. I hope you enjoy!

This is the perfect little cafe in Ambler. Of course they have amazing pies, but don't sleep on…read moretheir lunch and dinner items. Perfect spot for a quick lunch or an early casual dinner. We went during Ambler's restaurant week and had a stand-out meal with peach gazpacho, chicken and strawberry salad, pulled pork hand pie and ratatouille quiche. All was amazing... but we can't forget the pie. My husband had a blueberry crumble and the peach Bellini pie was one of the best I've had. Service was warm and friendly. It was fairly empty, but I'm assuming it's because they only recently extended their hours to 7pm on weekends for the early dinner crowd. I'd love it if they would further extend dinner hours and market themselves as a dinner option. The larger restaurants on Butler Ave get packed on the weekends, this would be a great option for a nice casual meal. They are BYO so bring your wine.

We made a good one. We were greeted warmly at this corner store with street parking and the place was empty of customers when we arrived. The front displays of available homemade pies were inviting. They also had a mini-fridge of drinks like Snapple and Poppy and some others. But the Cafe also has all types of coffee and some breakfast and lunch items. My wife ordered an egg on croissant with a side of fruit. She also ordered a latte. I went with the chicken pot pie with a side salad. I didn't catch that the pot pie was actually a hand-pie (kind of like an empanada) but it is listed on the menu. Both the croissant and hand-pie crusts were excellent. Buttery and flaky. My chicken pot pie did not have much chicken, but did have flavor. There were nice spices like thyme in there. Definitely you can taste the homemade in there. My salad had micrograms and very fresh grape tomatoes and cucumbers. The side fruit was fresh and crunchy in small pieces. The place seats a couple of dozen people and had quite comfortable cloth seats. We decided to get a whole pie to go home with us and chose the key lime. Wow. Tangy and tart with the sweet graham cracker crust and whip cream. Loved it. The pie was just under $40 and the food about the same. I don't remember specifically this time. Pie and Plate Cafe is a winner with homemade scratch made food and nice coffees. The pies were excellent.

Disappointing Dinner Despite High Expectations…read more There were four of us dining on Saturday evening, and I had made a reservation. We were seated right on time, which I appreciated. The restaurant was packed, and unfortunately, the tables were placed very close together. We could easily hear the conversation at the next table, which made it feel like we were almost sitting together. We ordered the Thai Chili Shrimp appetizer, three entrées, two cheesecakes, and cocktails for all four of us. The Thai Chili Shrimp and cocktails were good, and honestly, the drinks were probably the highlight of the evening. Unfortunately, the entrées were a major disappointment. I ordered two of the dishes that I had seen heavily promoted and going viral on TikTok and Instagram--the Cajun Salmon with extra sauce and the Crispy Chicken Costoletta, also with extra sauce. Sadly, both entrées were overcooked and arrived cold. The extra sauces were served separately and came much later, which made the experience even more disappointing. Given all the hype surrounding these dishes, I expected much more. They were not worth the hype at all, in my opinion. I also usually enjoy the cheesecakes here, but the two we ordered were much too sweet for our taste. We ended up leaving a significant amount of food, which was disappointing since I had really been looking forward to this dinner. Our server was attentive and friendly, and she consistently had a smile on her face. She also apologized for the delayed sauces. The only issue was that our water wasn't refilled until we specifically asked, but otherwise, she was pleasant and did her best. Overall, the drinks were the highlight, but unfortunately, the food did not live up to the expectations created by the social media hype. I really wanted to love this dinner, but we left disappointed.
