They're all interesting, friendly, and down-to-earth people, and I think that will go a long way toward attracting a community of creative entrepreneurs. To me, that's what co-working is all about. I'm a digital nomad, so I'm not in NYC year-round... but whenever I'm here, I'm going to making this my co-working spot.

The staff at VillageOne are really kind and friendly, and the space itself is impeccable. Their membership rates are incredibly affordable - especially when compared to the other 4-5 options that are right in the same neighborhood and on the same street. Looking forward to working from here often!

Workville changed the game for me since leaving NYC due to COVID…read more My company office is in NYC but has been shut down since March and I ended up moving back to California, but my team is still in NYC. What am I going to do when traveling back to NYC and have no office to work from? Cue Workville and boy did they deliver. The location in mid-town is central to anywhere I need to travel to in NYC. Plenty of food options around and safety is paramount at Workville. Hand sanitizer is available throughout, counters are wiped down constantly, Workville residents respect mask-wearing in public areas. Most importantly, support is on hand at all times with Sue, Sabrina, and DJ. If you ask nice enough, they will even let you play your own personal Spotify playlist so you play DJ for your office mates. I love Workville not just for their office layout, nor the wrap-around outdoor deck from the 21st floor, or the free coffee... it's a vibe. A vibe that I need and crave when I visit NYC. As "Ahnuld" said it best, "I'll be back!"

Also, they've recently expanded to take up two floors of the 1412 Broadway building, so there's plenty of room! Oh, and one of the best amenities of all are the balconies that look over the Manhattan skyline. You can sit out there to do a bit of work, have a call, or eat lunch... what a breathtaking view! As you might guess, Workville has many of the amenities you would expect from a coworking site--from complimentary coffee and espressos to private call rooms for escaping noise during business calls. Note that I'm still trying to talk them into free bubbly and vodka after work hours... but one of these days. =) Drop by Workville if you're looking for a new office space. Sue and/or DJ are super friendly and will show you around and give you all the deets. Once you see the space and talk to members of the community, you'll be hooked!

Clients beware! Also, in addition to not giving me gear, they were very rude about payment issues. Fast to collect, even faster to freeze my membership and to lock me out of making bookings. Way to kick a man when he is down! They even charged me for storage for gear they would not let me access. They are extortionists at their best. Shame on you guys for taking advantage of someone with a 'disability'. Shame on you for kicking an artist when they are down. Gear often turned up missing in the gear closet. Elevator is cramped. Bathroom is neat, but accounting is dirty. I suggest looking up one of many other rental studios. 28 on 29 for example is quite good! I left them with an open offer, and they are free to reach out to me. All I want to do is pay them for the storage and get my gear back. Thank you!

Really cannot say enough good things about working at The Yard LES. The energy is great and the…read morespace are quite nice. There is always fresh coffee and an array of haute teas. There are plenty of couches/lounge spaces for when you need to get out of the private offices, and the rooftop is a great place to get some work done when the weather is nice. Juan, the maintenance man, does a wonderful job keeping the facilities in good shape, and Michaeline, the community manager, does an equally wonderful job coordinating events and keeping "tenants" happy. My company already takes up two offices here and I dread the day we outgrow the space and have to leave. (Disclosure: I am not the person paying for our office space here, so I have no comments on affordability.)

The office space itself is ok, but don't expect to get your security deposit back. Plus at one…read morepoint they experienced flooding from the ceiling which made several offices unusable including mine, and I was forced to still pay for it even though I couldn't use it, and not only that they made me stay at least another month due to their 30 day cancellation policy, which obviously should only apply if you can actually use the office, not if they've failed to provide usable space. Surprise, surprise, come the coronavirus pandemic it turns out they are doing something similar on mass scales, keeping everyone's security deposits to pay for extra months after cancellations. Obviously its an unusual time, but its keeping in line with their existing policies. They steal whatever they think they can get. If you are considering renting office pace in the future when they reopen, remember how they treated people during an emergency, many of whom are out of work and now unreasonably forced to forego security deposits and charged for months after their cancellations. This is not a business that deserves to survive. UPDATE: Just over a year after I stopped doing business with them, I received a random email thanking me for "my payment" and saw a corresponding $700 charge on my credit card. I called them up and apparently they have some sort of error where their system has suddenly charged all their former members and (the person that I spoke to claimed) also making extra charges to current members. Before I left I had made a point of removing my credit card from their system, and the man I just spoke to on the phone said I do not have a payment method on file, but maybe there is an "archived" payment method. Well, there must be something since the charge showed up in my credit card account. So not only does this company make random charges, but they do not remove your payment methods when you ask them to. I had to cancel the card to avoid this happening again, but this place has just become the most scammy business I've ever encountered. If this error were the only time, it could be a genuine mistake, but as this is now the *third* time they've tried to scam money from me it's an obvious pattern. Like I said, they try to find any way to steal your money they can. You'll notice the only positive reviews for this company are from long ago and generally about the building itself (which is the only reason it doesn't get 0 stars, the company itself is as bad as a company can be), I think the company must have been going downhill since even before the pandemic and since then they just gave up any pretense of being a legitimate business. Avoid this company at all costs. You will regret doing business with them.

This review is for The Idea Kitchen in Larchmont, NY…read more All you need to know: A+ experience and value. Absolute highest recommendation to reach out to the Idea Kitchen team - Adam (owner), Ana, and Will are fantastic ambassadors. You'd be shortchanging yourself and your productivity not to consider checking them out if you need a local workspace. A few details: I visited family in Larchmont for August 2021. I grew up there locally, but now live on the west coast. My wife and I stayed with my family for a month-long visit, and needed a way to be productive for our jobs during this time. We both have desk jobs that require many video and phone calls. After some online research and a recommendation from local residents, I chose to rent an office at the Idea Kitchen for our time in NY. It was an incredibly good decision. The Idea Kitchen team, facility, and office delivered 10 out of 10 on everything you could want in a co-working partner. The space itself is fantastic: ultra-clean, spacious, massive windows/ well-lit, high-ceilings, and modern. It felt like many co-working spaces and offices I've seen for tech start-ups on the west coast. The security app and auto-access was convenient and easy - I had 24/7 access with the plan I purchased, which was fantastic to be able to use the space for early and late calls as needed. The entire staff was incredibly responsive, professional, friendly, and just made everything easy. From answering my initial questions via phone & email prior to committing, to helping me manage my account, to helping me navigate anything I needed when I was in the office (printing access, temperature control, etc.), the team was fantastic. One evening at about 9pm I mistakenly locked my phone & computer in the office. I called the after-hours number and ultimately Adam (owner) personally solved the issue so that I could get my items right away. In addition, the other members/ customers all seemed quite kind and community-oriented, while also driven to get their work done, so it was an environment that was conducive to being productive, as well as being motivating. Overall, it was an incredibly pleasant and worthwhile experience to spend my work days & evenings at The Idea Kitchen. I hope you're as lucky as I was that they have availability for when you are considering working there.

The member engagement here feels intentional without being pushy. They take time to get to know all members and bring them together in a very organic and thoughtful way. I'm in one of their small private offices, and honestly, the layout options are great. Whether you need heads-down focus or want to be in the mix, there's space for it. What I appreciate most is that Resident doesn't force community at the expense of productivity. You can close your door when you need to ship something, then grab coffee and end up in a conversation that changes your priorities. Both things can be true here. The pricing sits somewhere in the middle. Certainly not a budget option, but not outrageous either. But the value for what you pay is amazing. What you're paying for isn't just square footage. It's the experience, the people, the support system. When I think about the introductions I've gotten and the environment I work in every day, the ROI is clear. What truly sets them apart is the fact they're thoughtful about who they let in. The vetting process is real but doesn't feel invasive. It's more like a conversation to make sure there's mutual fit. Both professional and cultural. No one does that in NYC. That selectivity shows up in the quality of people you meet here with everyone's building something, contributing something, or helping someone else do the same. If you want just a desk, look elsewhere. But if you're serious about your work and want to be around people who are equally serious about theirs, Resident is the right call.
