Felt very angry and disappointed in this experience. Locked myself out of my apartment this morning…read moreand in a frenzy, I called them based on availability and what I thought were good Yelp reviews at a glance. I learnt my lesson and should have read the BAD reviews and not judge it upon overall rates. The lady on the phone was quick to assign someone called Van who showed up in 20 minutes who to his credit was polite, but never gave me an upfront quote until after the job, he proceeded to drill through my lock and got me in and quoted me a whopping $65 for a misc. "service fee" + $225 for repair which I have never heard of before. Then he charged me through Venmo but never provided a proper receipt. But the Venmo charge was $315 with tax...? After this charge, he then proceeded to tell me that because he drilled through my knob it's now broken and needs to be repaired, so then tried to upsell me at another quote of $250 or the cheap east option is $185. And left me in shock. None of these quotes were conveyed to me before the job. I couldn't bite the bullet as they would make my total bill $500 for a door knob that soon after from my landlord said was most definitely a simple pick the lock job that should only cost $75, having owned this building for decades. I then realized I totally got ripped off. I now have a broken doorknob and have to get it replaced and get the lock replaced entirely. I called them back after to try get the service guys full name and license number to ensure he's a licensed NY technician and they could not disclose, and offered me the lowest price of $150 for knob replacement with 2 keys, I was still not convinced. They were also hesitant to give me their business license number and said they would "have to check" but it's something they usually cannot give, but it has never been an issue in the past with other locksmiths. After that call, I tried calling back 3 times and they are now completely not answering whereas before when I was booking them it took them a minute to call back. I have no choice but to leave this honest review. This is a real lesson learnt here for those of you who are vulnerable and desperate enough to get a rush job done to still do your research and due diligence on market comparison. 3-4 places after all quoted me significantly cheaper. I will now have to call Consumer Affairs.

The owner told me "starting minimum $100" ok that's fine I figure worst case they come out tell me the total labor and new lock would be maybe at the most $350 ? That's what I'm thinking. The guy get here, starts working. He tells me he needs to use the old cylinder from the old Broken lock. I tell him that's not what I told his boss we were asking for. He played dumb and then he says "well the new doorknob and lock is $250 and my labor is $395" I couldn't believe this absolute con man. He then spends an hour longer, calls for back up and another guy comes. (Neither the original guy or the back up guy have any business name on their vans, just white vans) I hear him using a grinder and see him jamming a file in the door knob. Total clowns. So they finish and the door knob is the most difficult thing to turn ever. And it's installed upside down. I told him I'll pay $325 and he took it. I should have offered $200 because he was a hack. Do not ever waste your time, money, or property with these con men.
