I tried spin for the very first time a little under a year ago. I wasn't sure it was for me given I don't fit the average demographic you see portrayed about spin classes. Never the less, I stoped in to ask about it and was told I could take a free class with no commitment to see if it was right for me.
I enjoyed myself so much that I initially bought a 5 class pack, and then a couple classes later, joined as a full member.
If you have been to a spin class before, you might know what to expect. The room is relatively dark but has colored light the the instructor controls, the music is loud, and everyone rides as a group. Again, wasn't sure I would like it. I hate going to clubs, I generally don't like loud music or dancing... but something about the combination really works.
There are a lot of instructors and ever one is slightly different, so you do get some variety from class to class. The instructors are very friendly, and all of the other patrons have been similarly kind and encouraging.
Beyond just being a good spin gym, this place is very well run. The owner (Jen) is very friendly and responsive. I have never had a gym respond the same day to emails and phone calls. She runs it super professionally and cares a lot that her customers have a good experience. This may sound trivial, but if you have ever had to pause a membership due to an illness/injury or correct a billing issue, you know what I'm talking about.
I can't speak highly enough of these guys and often bring friends to take a free class. If you live in the neighborhood definitely come check it out. If you see a chubby bearded guy at a 6:15am class, come say hi to me :p read more
