Highly recommend this little motel. It doesn't look like much from the road but the room is clean and tidy and the service is top notch. We stopped here on our way to the Grand Rapids airport. We got in around 11 pm but the hotel called us early in the day to give us room info and take payment. Impressed with the room interior. It's tidy and clean and has cute artwork. The shower is small but clean. The AC was off when we got there so it was pretty warm but when we turned it on the room cooled down super quickly and stayed cool all night. We accidentally left some cash in the room and were an hour away when we realized. We texted the hotel and they were amazing enough to refund it to us. Above and beyond service. We were so grateful for that help. Would definitely stay here again if we happened to be passing through. read more

It may be small but its great. Only complaint is the bathroom. Water takes a few minutes to warm up but no complaints once it does. Only other thing is no fan in the bathroom and the window doesn't just open, it comes out. Otherwise this place is great and cheap. Well managed motel. Rooms are extremely clean and location is convenient to town and hi way. Owners on premise and very approachable about wanting guest to have a great stay. When in Alma we always stay at the Triangle. We just completed a 4 night stay and were very satisfied with the Triangle experience. We stayed at the Triangle Motel for a concert at the Soaring Eagle Casino this past weekend. The room was very clean and cozy. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed sitting outside watching and listening to the birds flying around the flowers and trees. It was quiet and relaxing. We drove 2 miles to the quaint town of Alma and ate at the Alma Brewing Company which was great! Thanks for the awesome first experience at the Triangle Motel. Highly recommended! read more

This is an updated and super clean version of the old-fashioned mom/pop owned motels of the past. New carpets and tile, new flat screen TV with basic cable, new toilet and shower, nicely painted, and well kept up in every way. It is right off of US-127 at the Alma, Michigan, south exit, right across from a nice gas station with food and coffee. A good restaurant is just 2-4 miles south, or drive west a mile or two into Alma for food. The beds are comfortable, although small, because the room is small. No pool, no breakfasts, not even coffee, but for about $100, you get a clean, comfortable room with updated features, if that's all you need is a safe, clean, comfortable place to sleep. I highly recommend it. You must make reservations by phone, as the checkin/checkout is contact free. However, the very courteous and friendly owners are on site and available if you need anything, just call from the room. No room key needed since changes made during the pandemic; they have a push button doorknob and text you the entry code and room number, and leave a receipt in your room. read more

So you found yourself in Alma. 1.) Are you lost? 2.) Are you sure? 3.) Did you follow the road signs for "hotel" and end up in this parking lot, having second thoughts and Bates Motel flashbacks? Cast your trepidations aside, my friend, because I have it on good authority (read: my mother, who stayed at the Comfortable Inn down the road and camped with a colony of ants) that this is the best motel in town. The most notable feature of this motel is: it is spotless. Sure, it's a little...Soviet...on the outside, and the beds are small (my sister and I had a room with one full bed and one twin. She's a sucker for letting me walk in first.), and the bathrooms are miniscule, but I didn't find one speck of dust, dirt, or decomposition on any inch of this hotel. That's a major win. Our room also came equipped with a fully-functional fridge, a microwave that went untested, a flat-screen, and a fly swatter. Rooms are $55/night AND they come with a free fountain beverage or coffee from the Citgo located conveniently across the street for each night you stay. Score! Protip: the motel is only 10 rooms, so if you're in town for a wedding, bat mitzvah, graduation, etc., attempt to rent out the entire motel for friends and family. It totally mitigates the Bates-esque vibe for those whose last hotel review was a NYC Hilton. Other perks: great lawn for tailgatin', barbequin', brunchin', and loungin' (there are even a few chairs and a charcoal grill provided, but best to bring your own if you're more than two people) AND The World's Best Bar just a short drunken stumble across the grass. BONUS REVIEW FOR THE WORLD'S BEST BAR: Because it doesn't have a Yelp page, and it is 3am and no way I am creating that right now. Crossroads, AKA TWBB, is not labeled. You'll mistake it for a maintenance shack for the auto-supply down the gravel path. You would be mistaken. If you dare to enter, you'll be greeted to retro-rad black-and-white-tile floors, an appropriate amount of wall kitsch, pool tables, regular tables, something blinky (my apologies, I was already severely drunk by the time I arrived from a family wedding. Pinball, maybe?), and a stage/dance floor. If you're a family of Ds, or just extraordinarily lucky, you'll be treated to no cover and a ROCKING (not just the alcohol talking! I have video!) band. We heard Potter's Swamp (soon to be known as Faze 5) and they serenaded my family and I with such gusto that we were all sore the next day from dancing (we got jiggy with it. It was unbecoming). I somehow managed to convince a bartender to sell me two Bud Lights, and I was only charged $5! On a Saturday night! Somewhere long after midnight! The regulars were great fun, and if I was in Alma, or hell, Michigan, for any reason, this would be My Place. read more

Lovely little place to sleep, watch some t.v. and take a hot shower....cozy, by the highway. Exceptionally clean. Owners are most delightful and obliging and willing to make you comfortable. Women, bring your own hair dryer....just an FYI.....no big deal. My husband and I have been here on more than one occasion and will continue to make our reservations here. About a half hour from Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant. Big corporate inns aren't always the answer. Called the proprietor and made a reservation. A few hours later, upon arrival, "Michelle," a co-owner, informed me that my room was no longer available and that a smaller room was all that was left. "Well, may I have a discounted rate then, since you are giving me a room other than what I reserved?" I asked. "No." she said. "But, you can go someplace else?" [Are you kidding me? Did she just say that? I thought to myself.] Frustrated, I accepted the room because of time constraints and pressing work obligations to attend to. The proprietor should have called me if there had been a change to room availability, but poor customer service (and common sense) is apparently their "style." To compound matters, I had to turn on my phone recorder when she began insisting that she could deny me (and my service dog) the room as it was not a "pet friendly" room. It took me "reminding" her of the Americans with Disabilities Act and how what she was doing was unlawful, before she changed her tune. No apology. No nothing. Besides all of that, the room was clean. However, don't let the photographs fool you. The motel is feet away from the Interstate and directly across from a busy gas station -- meaning that it is very noisy (from inside your room). read more

Great little place just a short drive south of the casino in Mt. Pleasant. Simple, yet has all you really need for a place to get a good nights sleep. Bathroom was more up-to-date than you might assume. Comfy bed, flat-screen TV with a good selection of channels. Didn't use the Wi-Fi much but seemed to work well. Instead of in-room coffee, they give you a voucher for a free coffee/soda/cappucino at the Citgo across the street. What I got with my voucher was better than what most hotels have, so that was bonus. The rate better than anything I could find on a busy weekend around the casino or between Mt Pleasant and Saginaw. read more

We booked this hotel (Motel) based on the good ratings. I would like to give my honest opinion. I don't think this is a 4 1/2 star hotel. The room was clean and updated. Everything had a fresh coat of paint and the door hardware looked new. Nice HD TV channel selection (better than you get at some high end branded hotels). The high speed internet worked well for us. The room also had a small refrigerator and microwave. Now for the negative: the room is extremely small. An average camper would have more space in it. The bathroom is about the size of an RV bathroom. It didn't even have a tub for us to give our kid a bath. The bed was small. It was not even a queen bed; I think it was maybe a full mattress. Whatever the size my feet hung off and my wife and I have never had to sleep so close to eace other. I don't think a king bed would have even fit inside. Although the front desk staff were very friendly, they close early. They had to leave our room unlocked with the key in it for us, because we arrived after the motel closed for the night. There is no coffee in the room or at the front desk, but you get coupons for a free cup at the gas station across the street. This place is nicely run for the tiny motel it is. Just don't expect a normal hotel room. You are getting a microscopic motel room. That is why I think it is only 3 stars. read more
