Went for bowling. Friendly staff, great food/pizza and atmosphere. Will definitely be going back. Would like to check out the golf next.

Just spent 4 nights and 5 days here for a golf stay and play with almost 30 guys. We stayed in their onsite villas and those were pretty great. Large, fit four persons per, with your own bed, own bathroom per bedroom, full kitchen and even a fireplace and deck. Very comfortable lodgings. My only hang up I experienced was some missing items and cleanliness. The first night I found what looked like blood on two of the four pillowcases of my provided pillows. I quickly tossed those outside and they were replaced by the cleaning girls the next day with apologies. I did try to reach someone at night but this place has NO ONE on staff after 10 or 11 so if you need something, you're on your own. We also didn't have any facial tissues and only 1.5 rolls of TP but that was remedied the next day. The showers aren't anything special; heads are very low and water is sparse but it gets the job done. The entryway to "check in" is their golf cart barn, which is weird. No real front desk. We had to walk into the bowling alley/ bar to get our keys, which were electronic. Bowling alley is nice! Good bar, good drink selection, private event room towards the back (which we had booked each night for meeting and food). Even bowled two nights of our stay which was fun. Now the best parts of this place are the employees; they're simply wonderful people. They make this place. Nicole, Ali, Olivia, & all the servers and desk peeps are awesome. And the food here is pretty effing good! Large portions of steak and chicken parm; just impressive kitchen they have here. Very happy with the food options. The worst part about this place is working with the owner. She is so scatter- brained and unhelpful. Do not deal with her if you can. 1. She threatened to release my tee times unless I paid at least half of the total bill of my group within a day IN ADVANCE of our arrival. 2. She wanted me to pick everyone's dinner for the first night by noon; she PDF'd me a menu to my email at 11:52, expecting me to get everyone's choices by then... 3. Supposed to have shuttles to THEIR courses; they didn't and couldn't get one so she and her husband took their personal vehicles and picked up a few of our guys. 4. Supposed to have shotgun starts on all THEIR courses. 1 out of 3 rounds we did. 5. Never booked our tee times when I signed our agreement back in DECEMBER; it took them 7 months to start discussing tee times and I had to personally call another golf club's owner to get us back on their tee sheet. 6. She is not good at working/ dealing with people. She talks over you in a rude, condescending manner. 7. She was onsite for 1 hour during our stay, when she had to make up for the shuttle debacle (of which she told her workers that I was supposed to set up). Now the golf here and at their other course, the Pines. Its not resort golfing, its not even county course golfing. Its rough around the edges. I will say the Pines course has a GREAT bar and facilities but the rest is very old maybe? The courses themselves are nothing to brag about. If I had to guess normal tee time costs during weekend rounds, I wouldn't pay more than maybe $30 a round at either one. Thats really what those courses are worth at best, to play, paying straight up. I would stay here again, but I'd limit my golf at their courses and play the other courses around town that we did enjoy. The villas, food, and employees were great. The owner sucks but limited interactions with her and you forget she exists. read more

I would not recommend golfing here, there are so many reasonings to Why. I would not say I am a beginner golfer but I wouldn't even recommend this golf course to a pro. The golf "fairway " ( which was poorly mowed" were so narrow it was nearly impossible to get onto. Also, if you do play here get ready to lose a whole bag of balls because almost every hole has a large creek or pond... or just get lost in the woods because the narrow fairway. Another pro tip, bring a BUNCH of bug spray because since it's in a swamp the mosquitoes are god awful. Overall, the price was way over priced for the worst golf course I have ever been too and I have been to a lot of different courses. read more

If I could rate this place a 0 I would. This place is very unorganized. There is 6 people behind the counter and we have been sitting here since 3:00 and it is now 3:45 and have thrown 3 bowling balls down the lane because they do not know how to fix the lane. The management here sucks!!! I wouldn't give this place any of my money!! Go elsewhere!! read more

This is not what I expected in Mount Pleasant. The outside doesn't look like anything special but once you are inside it is huge. There are so many lanes for bowling and a very chic bar area. The drinks are a little pricey but that is kind of expected for a bowling alley. The bathrooms were very clean, updated and spacious. read more

Riverwood has a huge parking lot and a cool looking building. When you get to the bowling alley there are many lanes and some vending machines. They have a place to get shoes and some lanes have couches and high tables. The bowling alley is has a bar, an arcade machine and a waiter/waitress who lets you order food and beverages while waiting for your turn to bowl. I have great experiences here and hope to return soon. read more

I was in town on business and client said this was a great place. It was expensed so, we all went. The brunch buffet is quite amazing and fresh for $10. I've been here for the dinner buffet, but I'm not sure if they have that anymore. Call ahead. read more

I play here quite frequently in the summers and love the course, especially the front nine (white course). Features a great incorporation of the Chippewa river with some challenging par 3''s. If going, definitely mention that if are a student to get the student discount. read more

The Golf Villas are very well appointed with excellent WIFI. The setting from the back porch is simply amazing with the sun setting over the golf course. The 989 Grill has a very open concept, and the meals that I have had the pleasure of eating we're delightful! The three nine hole golf courses provide great challenges for all skill levels. One nine is an exceptional course for beginners. If one want to get out of the summer heat the bowling alley is one of the best. The staff is very friendly and helpful. read more

My wife and I recently visited Mount Pleasant for a weekend getaway and stayed at Riverwood Resort Villas.I have not been to Mount Pleasant and/or Riverwood in about 7 years and let me tell you this place has really changed! Everything is really updated and the addition of 989 adds an awesome open feel and social spot. The staff upon checking in were very friendly and accommodating. The villas were clean and the bed was extremely comfortable! The villas were very quiet and secluded. The location of Riverwood is perfect it is literally right down the street from Central Michigan's Campus not too close where you have tailgaters in your backyard but close enough where you can afford an uber to and from the party! All in all this was an extremely great trip we look forward to visiting again and I would highly recommend visiting Riverwood Resort when you are in the Mount Pleasant area! read more

What a great place for friends, family, and fun! Bowling was awesome and the beer selection and food was great!

Decided to go bowling after work with a few friends recently, none of us were impressed. Yes the place looks nice since the remodel, but you can tell they "know" customers will come there so they don't try to go above and beyond. First of all after work a couple of us were hungry and expected there to be food or snacks available. On a Saturday night at 10pm you would think you could order something since they do have a kitchen and it is also a bar. We also thought the price was a little high for bowling, $15 a person for 2 hours.. Considering we mostly wanted to hang out and have some drinks. (They would make more on drinks from us if we didn't have to pay $15x5 people for bowling). You can get 3 mixed drinks for $5 downtown. I Also, drink specials basically don't exist. We went during the glow bowling and the music was only playing over in the bar area.. Which we thought was weird. They need to have better promotions if they want repeat customers. Maybe like bowling for 4 people including a pizza for $40? Since it is not really a family place late on weekends, they could get people in the door and make more money on booze since it is a high markup. Also, they are going to be the only bowling place in town soon, and this is a college town, good deals get people in the door. Just my $0.02. Oh and for food all they had was a vending machine... which was out of order. Employees seemed nice, they aren't the problem. Hopefully sometime I can change my review. read more
