Very nice country club, but food was okay and very filling, but not tasty. I liked my croissant sandwich, but it was nothing to rave about. I ordered a butternut squash soup which I didn't particularly like. Coffee wasn't good at all, standard GFS, and wine was okay. I wanted a mimosa but they ran out of champagne so I was a bit disappointed, but it was literally the last day of the season so I don't fault them. I would have to go a couple more times to get a good feel for food and ambiance, we went as guests of a member. read more

Sometimes in life the reality far exceeds the expectation and this proved to be the case regarding our experience with the course earlier this week. The four of us agreed that the course delivered far less than what we had expected from such a highly rated course. Price point was fair pushing our golf spending to its limited for the two of us. We would never be able to afford playing here during normal season. The greens were not in playable condition and none of us were happy in that regard. Service received was adequate no better. I am sure that there are many other courses just as nice in northern MI who would love to have our hard earned golf dollars. We will not be returning to this one... read more

Staff was pleasant and helpful where they could be. Unfortunately this place for stay and play packaging is by far the worst experience our entire group ever encountered. From the bar and cart girls running out of drinks even water to the half way houses not being open, two days in a row. Was told we can have chips and granola bars for lunch instead of even get a hot dog. This was a very disappointing experience. Considering how much you are paying for a round. You would think you can get simple bar food but nope not even that. When we asked to speak to a manager was told the managers don't work the weekends. When we asked why the half way houses ( Tullymore and St. Ives ) were closed both days was told at Tully that the person who works it just didn't show up for two days. Course isn't the worst but definitely not the best. Clubhouse itself presents itself to be something greater than what you play. For the walk on public course rate, not bad for a round. Too bad the restaurant isn't as good as the golf. So much potential but especially fails in efficiency and service. We waited over 2 hours before food finally arrived. And the restaurant hardly had anyone there. They are way understaffed and the management is very poor. Not to mention, if you are not golfing don't bother coming in for a meal because they make golfers a priority over guests coming to dine. We arrived and ordered before a large table top of players and they were served before us. It is so very sad because there is so much potential for this place to be great however ownership and management needs to step up to the plate. read more

Our foursome settled on Tullymore this year for our annual golf outing. We opted for the Stay and Play package and it was worth every cent. We stayed 2 nights at the Hideaway and played golf for 3 days. We called ahead on the day of our arrival to let them know we would arrive early and asked if rooms could be ready when we arrived. The staff said it was unlikely because there was a large group leaving on that day. Upon our early arrival, our rooms were ready so a pleasant surprise. Check-in staff were friendly and the process was easy. They gave us our package, provided detail information and we were off to our rooms to get ready for our first round of golf. Hideaway rooms were basic, but very clean and comfortable. Our first round ended late, so our group decided to pick up some pizza (Lakeside Pizza and Grinders). Pizza, wings and beer hit the spot. We brought the leftovers back to the Hideaway and ended up finishing it in the lounge while playing cards with the the supplied deck and poker chips. We played both courses twice during our stay. We played 18 holes at Tullymore on day 1. On day 2, we played St. Ives in the morning and Tullymore in the afternoon. On day 3, we completed our the trip with a final 18 at St. Ives. Both courses were maintained exceptionally well. Both courses were fun and challenging. While Tullymore is the higher rated course, we found St. Ives, to be equally fun. A couple of the guys felt it might be the better course due to the more mature trees. Regardless, both courses were beautiful to play, beautiful to look at and simply beautiful to soak in the surroundings. All of us in our group had an exceptional experience at the resort and on the golf course. We found the staff at the pro-shop to be helpful and friendly. We found the staff at the restaurants to be attentive and friendly. We found the found the food at Tullymore restaurant to be generous and delicious. We spoke to the bag/club handlers, starters on the green and course maintenance folks, and everyone we spoke to were friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. If we decide to book again, we will try to book a room at the St. Ives Inn and take advantage of the indoor pool. Great job Tullymore!! read more

This place was expensive, One of the most expensive stay and plays in the state. Let me tell you this place did not live up to the price in any way!!! The disappointment level to say the least was high. The courses for all intensive purposes were ok, but that's the last good thing I could say about my stay. Do yourself and your group a favor and go somewhere else for a golf weekend. read more

It definitely is a unique golf course with probably the most wooden golf cart paths I've ever driven on. It's a little out of the way, but worth playing when you're on your way up north for even better golf (but not by much because this ranks right up there among the best in the state). read more

Some friends and I came up to Michigan for a golf trip and our final round was at Tullymore. We stayed at the "Hideaway" the night before our round. It was a standard hotel experience. The morning of our round, we had breakfast at the clubhouse. The restaurant and the clubhouse were top notch and what you would expect from a well ranked golf destination/resort. As for the golf course itself, we were very surprised to learn that the course hosted an LPGA event a couple weeks prior. The green fees were $150 and our group thought that the rate warranted about half of that. The course architecture was less than impressive and greens were not freshly mowed for our 8:30 a.m round. The course is loaded with gimmicky holes and there were some architectural snafus as well. Most notably, the drainage hole in the middle of the green on the par 3 12th. This is not something you would see at a 4/5 star golf resort that carries a $150 greens fee. I would not recommend this course. read more

In 2002 Tullymore was, in a surprise to everyone, named the best new upscale public course in the U.S. by Golf Digest. Nearly 12 years later, Tullymore continues to justify Golf Digest's assessment and is arguably the top golfing destination in Michigan. I played the course twice this year (once in July and again in September) and loved every minute of it. The conditions from tee to green were perfect. The holes are thoughtfully designed to appear naturally in the northern Michigan woodlands setting, which results in players constantly being struck by the natural beauty and serenity of the place. This is one of those special courses where, on a given hole, you can rarely see any of the other holes, which makes if feel like you and your group have the golf course to yourselves. This course has five par 5s and five par 3s, which means there are plenty of scoring opportunities. Be careful which tees you choose though. The silver "professional" tees are over 7,200 yards and carry a course rating of 76.0 and a slope of 150! There are a lot of double bogeys waiting for you. The professional service at Tullymore is excellent across the board and the 19th Hole Tap Room is a terrific place to get a post-round drink or meal. Located just an hour from Grand Rapids, Tullymore and its sister course St. Ives are the perfect destination for a golf weekend. My only criticism of Tullymore is that although the driving range always has excellent turf quality, the rest of the practice facility is pretty average. The driving range itself could do with an overhaul to include simulated fairways on both sides and real targets. And even though the course has two nice putting greens, there is, sadly, no short game area. Finally, be prepared to spend some money here. Weekend greens fees during the high season are $160! The best bet during the high season is to play weekday twilight, for a much more reasonable $70. The rate starts at 3 pm, which, in Michigan, means there is plenty of time to play a leisurely round, enjoy a drink and quick meal at the 19th hole, and even make it over to nearby Canadian Lakes for a sunset cruise. read more

Great track. Fun, challenging, always in great shape. But when you play "prestigious" courses like this you expect decent customer service. Absolutely terrible service and lower management. Worse experience than you'd expect by far, and management will send the cart boys out to do their work for them. Drive an extra 40 minutes north to El Dorado or 20 minutes south to Pilgrims if you want the total package. We play 100 rounds a year and won't give this place another dollar read more

Wow, what a gem in such a remote place! It is a difficult course, but I really enjoyed the atmosphere and staff.

2 friends and I came to the Canadian Lakes area to play golf and look at some property to possibly purchase so we would have somewhere to go on our 3-4 golf trips every year. We arrived on Tuesday June 5, 2018. On Tuesday we played The Royal course and had a great experience. On Thursday we played St Ives and had a great experience. On Wednesday we played Tullymore Golf Club. All we heard about online and from people that are familiar with the area was that Tullymore was the best course in the area. Well, I can tell you from personal experience it was the WORST course we played all week. It started with the employees from the pro shop and their bad attitudes. You would think if someone is there to pay their high golf rates that they would be a little friendlier and welcome you to their course as opposed to almost being irritated that you created work for them. Secondly, the golf course was in horrible shape. There were some holes that were difficult to tell the difference between the fairway and the rough. This is suppose to be a upscale golf course in Michigan and it was no better than most municipal golf courses in small towns in Indiana that charge you 60%-70% less to play. Lastly, and the thing that irritated me the most, I was only playing 9 holes that day and my 2 playing partners were playing 18. A few months ago I tore some ligaments in my right foot and was physically unable to play 18 holes due to foot pain. On our 8th hole I noticed the on field golf course marshall following us as we played. I thought that was strange due to we were following all the rules and there was nobody behind us or in front of us. When we finished our 9 holes the 3 of us drove our carts to the turn and my 2 friends decided they were going to the snack bar. There was a small utility shed right by where we stopped our carts. I took my clubs off the cart and said my goodbyes to my friends and started walking to my vehicle since my day was finished. The on field marshall was hiding behind that utility shed to make sure I didn't try to play another 9 holes since I only paid for the 9 holes I already told them I was playing. I was absolutely shocked to think that Tullymore Golf Club would think I was trying to cheat them out of $42 after I gave them my word I would only be playing 9 holes. To make a long story short, I don't think myself, or my friends will be buying property anywhere near Tullymore Golf Club or even returning at anytime to play golf in the Canadian Lakes area. All the other nice courses in the area can Thank Tullymore Golf Club for making sure my friends and I will never spend another dime in Canadian Lakes. read more
