The space isn't huge but spacious enough. The throwing areas have a counter area to hang out and watch at, but not a lot of seating after that. Mostly standing room. They do serve alcohol - not a huge selection, mostly canned beer and seltzer (free koozies!). They do have other log or wood games to play outside of throwing axes. The actual throwing was more fun and easier than I anticipated. They are super thorough in their directions, so we had no questions once we started. The games go by pretty fast! It's fun to watch and fun to throw, again, more so than I had anticipated. The axes aren't as heavy as I had thought. Overall - fun time, I'd come back and I'd recommend as a fun date night or group activity. I believe kids have to be 13+

Everyone here is so chill, you don't feel pressed for time at all given how your reservation is a timed one. We had plenty of time to do all the axe throwing we wanted to do to our hearts content, along with other lumberjack activities that we paid for in the additional add on ($10 per person). I personally love axe throwing and it's just always a fun time. FlannelJax's doesn't serve alcohol, only pop and snacks as well. There are many different lanes for axe throwing, so it can hold a ton of people and parties! One wall is all axe throwing boards/cages, then there's high top counters, tables, and chairs filling the other half of the space, along with a few logs and tree stumps against the other wall for the other lumberjack activities. It's a great space, windows on two of the sides, so it's bright and airy. Feels so new and clean, all the employees wear buffalo plaid flannels, and it's an easy walk from downtown Grand Rapids -- even through the snow, which is the weather conditions we had the day we walked over here! Took about 15-20 minutes to walk from downtown and enjoyed every minute! Highly recommend FlannelJax's for all your parties, quality hangs with friends, corporate team building exercises, and the like!

There were eight of us total, and we booked two rooms for 30 minutes. Two people can go into the rooms at a time, which ended up working perfectly. At first, I didn't think 30 minutes would be long enough, but I was so wrong. The adrenaline and rage energy is much more tiring than you expect, so switching out every few minutes was the perfect routine and kept the experience fun and balanced for everyone. The staff member was absolutely great and incredibly helpful in getting us ready. They made sure we were well protected and clearly explained everything before we started. There's more to the experience than just walking in and breaking things, and while there aren't many rules, the safety guidelines are important. The staff did an excellent job walking us through them so we felt comfortable, confident, and safe the entire time. There was a huge variety of items to smash: dishes, cups, bottles, computer equipment, and more. My personal favorite was grabbing the bat and swinging away. It was way more satisfying and relieving than I expected. Afterward, everyone felt amazing--like a big, fresh breath of air. I would 100% recommend Breakroom Therapy for groups, team bonding, or anyone needing a fun and effective stress release. It's a unique experience, incredibly freeing, and something I'd absolutely do again!

I can't review the actual business itself or experience bc my group opted to cancel our…read morereservation. After calling the owner and just trying to simply give customer feedback she became extremely defensive and rude. She cared more about proving points and being "right" than what I had to say. This is not an individual or place of business that I would ever attempt to rebook with. If she had been kind and led with a place of understanding then it would be different. She came off as hostile. I decided to just end the conversation bc what's the point with that type of poor communication, hostility, and being know it all. As a business owner you would think you would choose to be nicer. ‍ If I could give a zero rating based solely on her attitude I would. Side note.... Customers shouldn't have to dig around on your website to find necessary info. Be transparent at booking. Especially in text or follow up when confirming reservation.
