I was genuinely looking forward to visiting Camp Boomerang; the pictures made it look like a beautiful place to spend a few days. But you can put lipstick on a pig, and it's still a pig. I booked on August 8th for an August 15-18 stay, but had to cancel due to a death in my family. Bryan was unapologetic and downright rude about enforcing their rigid policy: within 14 days, you get nothing back. Outside that window? Still a $25 "admin fee" for a tent site. There are plenty of other gay campgrounds that are friendlier, more flexible, and actually care about their guests. Maybe that's why it was so easy to snag a last-minute reservation here. One of the best campground experiences so far. Brian, Matt, and Paul really know how to provide top notch service while fostering an awesome community experience. The new shower house, bathrooms and pool are amazing. The bonfire and block party (hosted by their seasonal campers) were a blast and inviting to everyone. Already planning our next trip back. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE ! Everyone should read !! Husband and I booked a 5 day/nite stay in the campground tent area. On day 3 we had taken our 2 miniature dachshunds to an RV site to visit a local resident across from the pool. REMEMBER this is a pet friendly site. The 2 pups get anxious, scared and started to bark. Bryan came across the road from the pool in an angry and aggressive tone stated "can you shut those dogs up, we can't hear the music at the pool. Keep in mind if you have ever been here to Boomerang the music is pretty loud. It was total BS... ( this incident was observed by 3 other people the time it happened. As a therapist I have seen many clients in my time who were angry, aggressive, hostile and borderline threatening and Bryan was all the above. He did not know me or my husband to be that angry with us or even 2 small dogs. His anger appeared to be a projection of other issues he has going on. None the less it was unprofessional and unbecoming of not only a grown adult, but as a business owner. I refused to let it rest. We decided to give the Boomerang $100.00 for the final night and leave early. On our way out I explained to Bryan just what I thought about his aggressive behavior and how I believe it should have been handled better without blaming 2 small dogs 250 feet away from a pool with loud music, stating they can't hear the music because of the dogs. Just nonsense !! I added if its dog friendly and (dogs do bark) let people know in advance if 5 barks or 8 barks are acceptable or not and post it. DO NOT randomly make up rules as you go !!! We are seasonals at this campground that officially opened in April 2021. The owners are friendly and personable, and are working hard to get this place up and running. But the other seasonals have been working together to build a community atmosphere. The people camping there are a great group of guys. This all-male clothing-optional gay campground is working hard to become West Michigan's premiere gay all-male campground. At this point, the pool is not yet open, and won't be ready for at least a month or two. Based on my personal experiences here, I would give it a 5-star rating. read more

We just completed our first visit and I have to say that it was one of the most satisfying men-only camps we have been to. Everything from the reservation process to the cordial and welcoming check-in and all through our stay was wonderful. The camp itself is still a work in progress, but judging from the design and quality of the new construction, it will only get better and better. Our drifter campsite had a nice concrete pad with a wrought ion patio set for us to use. Brian assisted us in settling in and Matt brought us an extension for our sewer hose and ice. Later, Paul stopped by to offer up his cookie specialties. They were delivered the next day fresh and delicious and you can't eat just one. Everyone at the park, from the staff to our camp neighbors were quick to wave and say 'hi' as they passed by. TOP NOTCH! read more

What can I say about Camp Boomerang, it's a fairly new All Men's RV Resort/ Campground with large well maintained sites. The pool and spa are fantastic. Every Friday night there is a group bonfire. The tent sites are very nice with electric. There are numerous planned events on the weekends. Plenty of private trails to wander. The bathhouse is very clean. Camp Boomerang is also close enough to to go shopping or out to eat if you like too. Best of all are the Owners who go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcomed. It's definitely a great place to visit, you won't be disappointed. We liked it so much we got a seasonal site. read more

Partner and I made our first trip to Camp Boomerang first weekend in October 2022, found the park nice, clean, and staff and members were friendly. Ordered 2022 T-Shirts for both myself and partner. Went back 3 weeks later for Bear Splash, and even jumped into the 50degree pool. Enjoyed myself both times. But, paid for 10 weekend trips in December 2022, when they published the 2023 schedule. Also ordered the 2023 T-Shirts. We made our next trip in May 2023, had a lot of fun, and enjoyed the cocktail on the trails run. However, left Sunday morning, and when we got home, there was an email waiting in my inbox, stating our membership had been cancelled, as we "were not a good fit". Queried owners, wanting to know what we did wrong. Got no clarification or response. They did refund my membership and $1000 I'd prepaid for my reservations. Returned the T-Shirt to the park. They did not acknowledge us when we buzzed the gate security phone, so partner tossed the 4 T-shirts, in a plastic bag, over the gate. We do not want to wear a shirt that advertises, for a place that does not want our business. read more

We've been involved since the beginning. The owners are doing a great job building and making a wonderful camping spot for all gay men...they are welcoming to all who officially identify as male. Just opened last week. Have met a lot of great guys. From a pancake breakfast at one site last week, to a hot dog roast at another this weekend...and a karaoke night! It's coming along well. camp boomerang is awesome . cant ask for better owners and its very clean and well maintained . the trails are very nice and everyone ( including ) the seasonal's kick in to help with theme weekends and to keep the place clean and running wonderful . you don't see that at a lot of camp grounds . while we was there for 10 days tent camping an they do this for everyone . we only had to call them up and they deliver ice and wood to our site . and they come around and pick up your garbage . This place is well on its way to amazing. All the new work being done is top notch, and the pool when it opens will be amazing. I was just there for the weekend, but the seasonals made me feel totally welcome and included in the activities (bonfire, tent breakfast, etc.). There is still a lot of work to be done, but the seasonals tell me that they see progress every weekend. I look forward to visiting again next summer and seeing the progress. BTW, one of the best things about this campground is the spacing between the campers, they are spaced at least twice as far apart as at a standard KOA-style campground. Very Nice! read more
