Biscuits
Bill H.

Good food, good prices. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak, 2 eggs and biscuits with gravy. My wife ordered the 2 egg, 2 sausage, biscuits & gravy breakfast. My dad had an omelette with fried potatoes and a biscuit. Everything was very good! We had to wait about 10 extra minutes for the biscuits, but they were fresh, fluffy, right out of the oven! Service was really good too. Didn't take too long for the food to come out of the kitchen. Would definitely return, only problem, we're just visiting from San Diego. Definitely recommend!

Great food and good service. Make sure to check the hours because they are pretty limited, but the food is great and worth it.

In a town like Batesville, a new restaurant doesn't just open its doors -- it announces an…read moreintention. It suggests momentum. It dares to believe there is room for something fresh on familiar streets. Board on Third carries that ambition with confidence. From the moment you step inside, it's clear that care went into the space. The décor feels curated rather than assembled -- modern without sterility, warm without cliché. There's a sense of thoughtful layering: textures that play off each other, lighting that flatters rather than floods, and design choices that signal intention. It feels like a place built for gathering -- a backdrop for conversations that linger. The staff reinforces that promise. Attentive without hovering, present without being performative. Water glasses don't empty unnoticed. Questions are answered with clarity. There's an eagerness that reads as pride -- and that matters in a new establishment finding its rhythm. Then came the chicken quesadilla. Tex-Mex is deceptively simple. It asks for restraint, but demands execution. The tortilla is not a vessel; it is the foundation. Fresh-pressed, it should offer elasticity and blistered character, carrying the aroma of toasted flour. Here, it felt ordinary -- serviceable, but lacking the tender resilience and warmth that elevates a quesadilla from cafeteria fare to something transportive. The chicken followed suit. Slightly chewy, suggesting either a previous freeze or a reheating cycle beyond its prime. Not inedible -- but uninspired. For a dish built on so few elements, each one must carry weight. When even one falters, the whole plate sinks. To be fair, every new restaurant deserves grace. Kitchens calibrate. Suppliers shift. Line cooks find their tempo. Growing pains are part of the story arc. And in a place like Batesville, supporting that arc matters. But context matters too. Coming from Texas -- where Tex-Mex is less cuisine and more birthright -- the bar sits high. A quesadilla is not a casual afterthought; it is a benchmark. On this visit, that benchmark was missed. None of this negates the promise. The space has charm. The staff has heart. The ambition is evident. What's needed now is refinement -- especially on dishes that appear simple but demand precision. Board on Third has the framework of something lasting. With tighter execution in the kitchen and attention to foundational details, it could become a cornerstone rather than just a newcomer. The potential is there. Now it's a matter of meeting it.

I was in town for business and wanted something local and different. This place is very nice and…read moremodern. Its a seat yourself restaurant. Lots of people there for lunch. The craft beer selection was nice. Had a Mexican lagar. It was very good. I ordered the dip flight. It had jalapeño pimento cheese, spinach artichoke and roasted red pepper humus. The pimento cheese was good and so were the homemade chips. Kinda disappointed about the portion of spinach artichoke dip. Half the amount of the others and the humus tasted like sabra. My server was super nice and attentive. I ordered the shrimp and cheese grits. When it arrived I was disappointed at the ratio of shrimp to grits. Big bowl of grits and average shrimp. Could taste the white wine it was supposedly sauté in. But it was good. Grits were very creamy and cheesy. I was going to order desert but the server was to quick to bring my ticket and didnt offer or ask if I wanted any. All in all food and service is good. They need to do better on portion ratio and offering a desert. For 16$ entrée I was expecting at least 6 shrimp for that big bowl of grits. If you're in Batesville check this place out.
