No, you're not going to get some quaint and quiet citified dining experience where they serve quiche and beignets, but if you're looking for great tasting down home food and great portions, this is the place. Friendly place for northerners to stop. We like to avoid chain restaurants on our road trips. This was a great choice.The waitress was kind in explaining some of the southern dishes they offer. We had a full breakfast, balogna sandwich with white beans on the side, and 2 cokes. Got out for less than $20. Good food, good prices. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak, 2 eggs and biscuits with gravy. My wife ordered the 2 egg, 2 sausage, biscuits & gravy breakfast. My dad had an omelette with fried potatoes and a biscuit. Everything was very good! We had to wait about 10 extra minutes for the biscuits, but they were fresh, fluffy, right out of the oven! This place is terrible. Clearly for people that only cram Sysco standardized Garbage in their face. It's over priced and the quality is elementary school cafeteria level. They don't even serve real maple syrup. This place was very noisy and chaotic. There portions are small other then their overpriced terrible pancake. Not to mention their hypocrisy. They literally have a sign next to the their cash register that says "If you don't stand by our vets, feel free to stand in front of them." As the owner rang us up, my husband if they do veteran's discount and she looked and offended snapped no. She is more into herself then the quality of the food as shown by the gigantic photo of herself behind the register. This place is garbage. Definitely a place where locals go. The catfish platter I had was good. Fish was tender with a crunchy, seasoned batter to compliment it. The sweet tea was good and the corn bread was delicious. This little known treasure is a wonderful breakfast location known by the locals. Not a lot of ambience, but it more than makes up for it in the friendliness of the staff, A group of precious ladies who are more than kind! Not being a local, I am always pleased when I am treated like one of the family when I happen upon a wonderful restaurant such as this, and I was not disappointed. The food is wonderful and of good value. The ham and eggs, biscuits and gravy as well as coffee are wonderful! As mentioned the wonderful waitstaff is so kind they ask if you would like some coffee to go, which is rare nowadays too. They have breakfast specials too, as well as a nice lunch sandwich menu.
