We have been renting with Five Star for over four years and have had a genuinely wonderful experience. Maintenance requests have always been handled quickly, and the staff has been very accommodating with walk-throughs, allowing us to choose dates that work best for our schedule. During the time we have lived in our home, the roof has been replaced and the exterior has been repainted, and everything was clearly communicated with us ahead of time. John even stopped by one day to check on the paint and let us know that the owner would also be coming by to see it. He was extremely friendly, and we had a great experience speaking with him. My husband later had the opportunity to meet the owner of our home and absolutely adored him as well. I truly feel that properties managed by Five Star are held to a high standard and are well maintained. Having landscaping included is also a huge plus and makes a noticeable difference in how the properties are cared for. We have never had an issue with communication, and no one has ever been rude or unprofessional toward us. From the very beginning, when we first toured our current home, the staff has been nothing but kind, professional, and helpful. We were never charged a fee to view the home we live in. I've rented many different homes and apartments and have never been in one that was this bad. Giving them a chance, I called and asked if maybe they were just waiting until the unit was rented to get it clean and fixed up. The woman on the phone assured me, No. That it was cleaned already and the property came as was. I was shocked. There were toilet stains and grime in the showers. Scuffs all down the walls. Who wants to pay as much as you have to for a 1700+ home and need to all this work before you get settled?! So un professional to leave a home in that way and doesn't really instill confidence in the renter that issues will be fixed timely and taken seriously.
