American said access to the septic well would be better if risers were installed. I asked about the price and they quoted $500. I said, "okay" to acknowledge the price but he never gave me a written quote, or asked my phone number or even my name. American owner proceeded to be on his phone half the time while I and the current home owner tried to ask him questions about the septic system. We came back to the home for a final walk through a week later to find American doing the work in the backyard, unexpected by me and the home owner. When I approached him that I hadn't asked him to do the work, nor expected him to be there (yes, I now acknowledge the misunderstanding of the word "okay"), he proceeded to call me a B*^%H and it was lucky my husband stepped in. We agreed to pay him for the work that his worker had done. The work was done in August, and we received an initial invoice in March. Yes, 7 months later. The bill even had an incorrect address listed for my husband and I. They never contacted me to let me know he was doing the work, and he was doing work on a property that I had no authority on because I didn't own it. Furthermore, after they completed the work, we smelled sewage odors every time we were in our backyard. My husband had to file down the risers where they had cut them unevenly so that the covers would fit snuggly and not emit septic odors. Bad customer service, bad communication, rude, and unfortunate workmanship. DON'T HIRE THIS COMPANY.
