The chips and salsa were really good! I came with a group of 5 and we were seated and served very quickly. I got the quesabirria tacos and they were tasty. I wish the consume was a little thicker as it was a bit more like clear soup more than a consume broth. Other than that I enjoyed the portion size as well as the onions, lime, and cilantro on the side. I would definitely come back to try other menu items read more

Looking for a new place nearby we finally tried Tres Portillos. They have a nice fairly large covered patio space to dine outside. The staff was very friendly and asked if it was okay that there were bees outside. We said yes, and only saw one bee. It wasn't like a massive swarm. Our waitress was really friendly. One of the first things we notcied as we walked by tables was that the food smelled amazing. They bring out chips and salsa to your table upon being seated. They have a decent selection on the lunch menu. I got the lunch birria bowl. It had simple toppings but tasted amazing. I ate all of it. I saw they had popsicles/paletas on their menu but when I asked they didn't seem to have any. I was a bit disappointed but that may have been a miscommunication and lack of time on my part. This place is yummy though and I will definitely be back! read more

First time here and went with friends who been here before. Went early and got seated right away. Sat at a table and had plenty of room and chairs were comfortable. Hubby and I each enjoyed a margarita on the rocks which was delicious. They had $2 off the Gold Cadillac and it was delicious! I had the pork empanadas. There were three and served with red cabbage. Very tasty and took one home for later. Hubby ordered beef burrito and chicken burrito and came loaded with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and sauce on top. He enjoyed his as well. Service was excellent and our server was very pleasant. After we all were done eating we all sat and talked for awhile. It was nice to catch up with our friends and extremely nice that we were able to stay at our table. read more

Always great service and great food! We order here multiple times a year. The drinks and food are always great quality.

My Son and I ride our Motorcycles to this place and had dinner. It was a pretty neat place. Lots of people and family friendly. We enjoyed our meals and the waitress kept our chip basket full and was very attentive to our needs. The food was very good. I recommend this place for an evening out if your looking for Mexican cuisine. read more

As always, the food is fantastic and a very accommodating staff. In spite of being packed the food was delivered quickly and hot! That said, not a big fan of having AC/DC playing over my head. read more

Chips and salsa were good, and complimentary . With Mexican restaurant you either like it or you don't. I did not care for this place. Went on a week night so it wasn't busy. However service was slow. The cream on my tacos weren't good. I could have went without the sauce, however the rice was good. read more

I wish I could give negative stars!! Until today, I would have given 5 stars. For the past 3 years we have ate at this restaurant weekly. My husband and I ordered the same thing every time, today we were informed (after asking) that the manager has cut portion sizes. The picture is what I got for $17.99 ( fajitas Tejana) Normally the portions are twice this size. My husband ordered the Chori Pollo, which is chicken and chorizo, there was 2 pieces of chorizo. So disappointed, we love the staff and feel bad but today will be our last time here. read more

We like this place. It's nothing fancy but the service is always prompt and pleasant. I have had many things on the menu and it's always good except their Diablo style. I like hot, hot food but their Diablo is hot, hot, hot, hot! Love their complimentary salsa. Clearly homemade and worth the trip for it. Their guac is the best around so I always need a side of it. I often get their vegetable fajita burrito and I love it. The peppers and onions have nice cast iron searing and their secret is including lots of very tasty fresh mushrooms. I say, "Go!" and be sure to include some palletas. read more

Came here hungry on a Friday during quarantine. My bf and I sat at a booth and ordered (which took awhile cause I'm so indecisive) and they were very patient which I appreciated. I ordered the chicken and rice and he ordered nachos. My only complaint is that they forgot some items on both of our orders (pico on mine and guacamole and one more thing on his), but the meal was tasty and filling. Definitely a solid choice. read more

We live within a mile of Tres P. And we have gone there since it's opened, consistently ate there for years, even had my girls rehearsal dinner there...and I'm sad to say, I won't be back. The portions have been reduced, the new menu is much higher prices, but the real issue... is that the food quality is very poor now. After getting sick x3 , I stopped going for awhile..decided to try again, and our food was so salt laden, I could not eat it. The draft beer was stale. The got our food wrong, forgot about the appetizer...then it was inedible. Our favorite bartender just quit after years of service...that's says everything...if the locals won't eat there, then u shouldn't either read more

Nothing here but a Faux Mexican, Tex-Mex cuisine cooked by actual Mexicans, Huh? I know right, anyhoo this spot is 1step above Taco Hell and 1step below Chipotle. I will give them credit for a good drink, but don't expect cilantro, pico de Gallo, roasted peppers or anything reminiscent of Mexico. Take people that have cigar and nicotine soaked tongues that lack taste buds. If you do that no one will complain. read more

The food was great but $3.99 for a small cup of guacamole to go is ridiculous. Also we probably shouldn't have gone to eat as a family during Happy Hour because they seated my husband, myself and son in the back at a table right next to the bar. Oh and of course there were some drunk and obnoxious people there, cursing yelling burping loudly to where I could not finish my Azteca soup because I was getting a headache at this point. Son decides he wants to leave and orders a guacamole to go. So we pay our bill and then have to wait a long time for this little overpriced container. All in all we liked the food although overpriced but the clientele here needs to be controlled better. read more

The Queso Fundido Camaron was delicious. A cheese dip with onions, mushrooms, poblano peppers and massive shrimp inside. The margaritas were ok. My 4 year old daughter ate the chicken nuggets and fries. The nuggets were not great looking but she ate them so whatever. The problem with this place is the service. Everything took so long and it wasn't even that busy. Our order wasn't taken for about 15 minutes after sitting down. No dishes were ever cleared from our table including empty glasses and an empty pitcher. I had to track my waitress down for the check and then she disappeared for another 20 minutes before taking my card. We spent over 2 hours in the restaurant and I only ate an appetizer. Update: Gave them another chance and the service was worse. I had to walk up to the front to get silverware for our table after our food was brought out. No employees in sight. I will not be back. read more

The food is pretty good, not the best I've had but above average. Typical quick service, drinks and nachos came right out. Food was a little slow and they messed up an order or it might have been 5 stars. Margarita, and Sangria were VERY good, no complaints at all cold, taste, size, price. Both dinner plates were hot and had good flavors. I also ordered a side taco (fish) they messed up and made a whole 'dinner' of three which ended up on my bill. basically 3 dinners, 2 drinks with tip ended up just over $60, slightly slow service but good food and worth a visit. read more

Just left this place after sitting with only chips and salsa for over 15 minutes. Nobody acknowledged us and we saw two other tables that came in after us have servers acknowledge them and get drinks. We were sitting 2 tables away from the front desk. It's not like we were hidden in the back of the restaurant. When we realized we were being ignored, we decided to leave. Upon leaving, there were three people at the front desk, 2 servers and 1 hostess. When I explained that what we experienced was unacceptable, they just stared at me. No apologies from anyone. I can't help but think that since we are a same sex couple, that is why we were ignored. We had gone away from this restaurant years ago once Fiesta Mariachi opened, but decided to finally give Tres a chance once again. We should have gone with our first instinct. The really sad part is that management probably won't even acknowledge this issue. If you're LGBTQ, stay away from this place. Take your money elsewhere. read more

This place is so close to 5 stars... I'm not a big fan of Mexican food. But this place is slowly changing my mind. We moved nearby a few weeks ago and tried this place out. And it was pretty, so good we tried it out again a week later. And again the week after that... Out of 6 entrees we've tried, 5 of them have been really, really good. (One out of six was a little dry.) If there are two of you, and you've got a little money to spend, (or if you're alone, and want a bunch of leftovers) get the Tour de Mexico. It's pretty much every meat they have, with all the usual sides. And it's awesome. The one missing star is for the one dry meal, and the prices--I feel like some comparable places around town are a little cheaper. Then again, I've never been this impressed with other Mexican places on Columbus. I really wish Yelp allowed partial stars. This is really more like a four and a half... read more

I have been coming here since I was a little girl, now I take my own family. BEST QUESO AND MARGS AROUND!! Staff always friendly

The food and service was great. I would love to come back again, the people were also great.

Best Mexican food around! Been to two locations and both are amazing! Happy hour is so so but during COVID this is my soul food

Made reservations for my boyfriends birthday dinner... got there and them the party guest are here and they said "there's no party today" with our checking the book, finally someone checked and there was my name! One of my favorite dishes that I typically order is The Baja Mex salad with chicken. This is me, trying to eat a little bit healthier than a lot of the other dishes that are offered. I used to recommend this salad to friends when they were going to this restaurant. The salad used to be huge! Full of romaine lettuce, FRESH seasoned grilled chicken strips and a few other ingredients such as black beans, corn and tomato. It used to be so large that I would ask for a large plate that I could move the salad to so I could spread it out and mix it up well before eating. Now the salad is served in a much smaller bowl and doesn't have near the same amount of ingredients as before but the price has surely increased. The charge is now $11 for way less ingredients and the chicken tends to be very dry now. Nobody likes overcooked meat! Overall the salad is so disappointing that I never plan to order it again. The bean dip is really good. The service is always top notch but I'm sorry the food has gone downhill in my opinion and some folks I've had lunch or dinner with feel the same. I realize the price of food has increased, but they shouldn't decrease the portion sizes also. There are a ton of Mexican restaurants to chose from in the Columbus and Grove City area to dine in, so I say to Tres....step it up guys! read more

Since I live right around the corner, I go here often. Good variety on the menu. I've never had a bad meal here but it's nothing super special either. The complimentary chips and salsa are pretty good. I've never waited more than ten minutes for my food to arrive to the table. The margaritas are excellent. Try the mango or raspberry. The wait staff can sometimes have difficulties with English. read more

Tres Potrillos is a pretty standard Tex-Mex restaurant. The service is prompt and the food is tasty too. Tres Potrillos offers a decent selection of tacos and burritos, and they also offer some yummy vegetarian options if you need that accommodation. The Galloway location has a sizable patio so patrons can enjoy their meal al fresco. The true gem of this restaurant, however, is the attached ice cream shop. Here, diners can get a selection of homemade paletas in flavors ranging from the familiar, like strawberry and vanilla, to the exotic like avocado or corn (which are favorites in my house). If you would prefer ice cream, you can get scoops of flavors like key lime, vanilla-grape or pecan, among others. If you are in the area, this place is definitely worth a try. read more

We have a few friends/family members who enjoy this restaurant so we decided to try it for my Mother's Day dinner. The experience was a bad one from the first minute we stepped into the door. We waited a good 15 minutes before anyone would seat us or even give us eye contact. We were finally told we could have "that booth over there." There was no escort to our table, no asking if we had dined there before. Quite unceremonious. After waiting another 15 minutes with no contact from a server, the host finally asked if we had been waited on (we assume it was the fact that we were all three staring him down with no water, no chips or salsa, and menus still sitting on the table). Since we had not, he took our order. 10 minutes later a server did show up, and we told her the host had taken our order so she walked off. Never saw her again. The host was now our server, apparently, but besides taking our initial order and bringing us each our initial glass of water, we never saw him. We had to ask for more chips/salsa and refills of water from anyone we could flag down as they walked past. *Awkward* My food was HORRIBLE, the burritos had obviously been microwaved as the tortillas were hard as rocks and the inside was lava hot with very little flavor. The "cheese" sauce that I was mainly looking forward to (and agreed to pay extra for) was a glop of microwaved white cheese of some sort...nothing saucy about it, much of it stuck to the plate the way it does when you over-microwave cheese at home. My husband's nachos were disgusting, dry with VERY little cheese, and no flavor. We couldn't eat what was served and asked that the items be removed from our bill, which they accommodated. I noticed that all of the other Mothers were being presented with a rose at the end of their meal. Not this Mom, I guess that happens when you technically don't have a server. We won't be back. I can't help but wonder if the cook who put out my dismal plate of "food" or the runner who brought it to our table would be willing/happy to serve that to his/her Mom on her special day. I seriously doubt it. read more

I got the Cuco Special: Two chicken breasts (flattened and overly seasoned) with melted cheese, onion, and mushrooms on top. Came with a side of rice, guac, sour cream, lettuce and tortillas. Verdict: nothing worth spreading the word about :( the chicken had so much seasoning, I couldn't taste chicken. The guac was good, but that's about it. read more
