Went for lunch for my birthday because we were feeling like margaritas. The food was really good and the servers were very sweet and attentive but not in your face constantly. We talked to a very nice lady who was tending the flowers on the way in, maybe an owner?, about what she likes to plant at the restaurant. She was picking sweet potato leaves to eat which she said are better than spinach. The restaurant itself is very spacious. It would be a great place to have a big group after a graduation or similar event. It appeared clean with eclectic decor. There's a ton of seating downstairs, an upper floor and a large outdoor patio. We were there at an odd hour for lunch (2:30pm) so there were only a few other patrons. The menu is extensive with everything from beef to seafood to vegetarian. A smaller portion and price lunch menu which was still plenty. Appetizers, soups, salads, desserts, all the drinks!! I had an entree that is a combination steak, chicken, chorizo and shrimp that was very tasty. My husband had shrimp fajitas. We brought an entree home for our son who is excited for dinner. This girl loves Mexican food. LOVES it! I am not a fan of many of the local mexican restaurants in the Columbus area. Most are 2-3 stars. So when her Mexican buddy said that this is the only Mexican restaurant that his 99 yr old grandma will go to and not complain about the food... it sure fast tracked Pablanos to the top of my "let's go here" list. Two days later we walked thru Pablano's door. We came in at a weird time: 3:40. We were honestly "the" only customers. Slightly muted bright colors decorate the space. It doesnt feel like the american stereo type Mexican decor. It felt warm and still festive. As we walked in, I realized I came here with my husband when we were in college... it was DonPablo's way back then and the decor has changed but floor plan hasn't changed much at all. Soon, the biggest basket of chips arrived. The salsa is made in house... and did I say it was good?? Omg. Sooooo good! How good? Well I slurped down two bowls of it and didnt even feel ashamed. A teensy bit of smokey flavor, the right amount of onions, onions cut perfectly- it was really special. What is nice here is they give you individual salsa cups so you can double dip to your hearts content. We looked over the massive menu. Our server, Jose, kept patiently coming back asking "ready to order?"... He had to come back at least three times. Why we read every entree I dont know because we ended up ordering exactly what he suggested we get... fajitas. My husband got the Zurape (chicken, (or steak) paired with house made chorizo. I got the chicken. Holy guacamole... that chorizo in the Zurape was sooooooo amazing. I see why Grandma doesnt complain. No shade to my chicken fajita... it was one of the best I have had, but I was quite sad that I did not order the Zurape. The chorizo here is dare I say....perfect. Haven't been here for a long time. The inside is truly Mexican decor! I ordered a burrito filled with seasoned ground beef, Mexican rice, refried beans and served with lettuce, tomato,sour cream and pico de gallo. This is our second visit. We fell in love with our meals the first time and came back! I believe this is the first Columbus restaurant I found serving Quesabirria. Because we live on the opposite side of town, return trips are special. I have spent the past year eating Quesabirria around my side of town. Today I revisited the Quesabirria at Poblanos. The consume was flavorful with deeply developed spices and tender beef. I would give the consume 10 stars! The quesabirria was filled that tender, flavorful beef. The actual Quesabirria tacos were very good - Definately in my top 5 list with the beef mentioned earlier, cheese, cilantro and diced onions. The portion was generous and served with rice and beans. I substituted guacamole salad and had more food than I needed. Hubs ordered the chicken burrito off the lunch menu. The meat was flavorful and seasoned well. We showed up about 2pm after the lunch rush. Sits high on the hill and looks closed. This is a gem. Very large for huge parties, very authentic foods. Chips and salsa was yummy, hot salsa was better. I had a burrito and had to take half home! great price, yummy maggies and plenty of food to feed everyone and some the next day! Discovered this establishment one night after every other place was packed. We walked in and were immediately seated. Standard chips and salsa were brought to the table. We ordered the frozen margarita, I'm normally not a fan of these, but here the mix is balanced and delicious. I ordered the Parrilllada Mexicana, this fajita mix had plenty of onions, peppers, chicken, steak, pork carnitas, and chorizo. This is one of my favorite dishes. The meat both chicken and steak were tender and juicy. This is served with rice and beans and flour tortillas. The food is flavorful and generous portions. I've been here multiple times while visiting Ohio and it's been great every time. I got the burrito de Asada, my husband got the Chile rellenos and I got my son the kids chicken enchilada. Everything is absolutely delicious. It's easy to fill up on their warm, fresh complimentary chips with salsa. The entrees were fresh tasting, quick to come out and huge portions. The margaritas come in huge goblets and we're very tasty. We had a group of 12 with 2 young children (with multiple diet restrictions) and they were very accommodating. Vegan friendly, vegetarian friendly. The waiter was efficient and courteous. Absolutely no complaints. Love it. read more

One holiday visit review. Mothers Day 2018(see pic) at noon. I called 10 days ago to make reservations for the busiest restaurant day of the year. They would not take it because they said they would not be busy. We almost decided to go somewhere that would take a resv. There were only a dozen tables seated. He was right. Service was friendly, and knowledgeable. I did have to remind the server 3 times to always wait on the ladies(mothers) first. Standard Mexican fare is fast. We did not wait long. Probably my fajitas were holding up everyone else's. More time to chomp chips and salsa. They were standard. I used some hot sauce to bring mine up to flavor. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Nothing was sent back to the kitchen. I thought my fajitas(see video) were neutral n favor. Most likely because it has to appeal to all with a sensitive palate. But don't consumers want to be wow'd with real taste? The ladies ordered some dessert to share. I got a spoon in there. It's not my favorite Mexican food, but they do a respectable job for food and service. I will return again if asked to meet someone. read more

Love this place, the service is always great when I go here for dinner. I usually order a steak fajita quesadilla that's not listed on the menu, but they make it just right. I also usually get the queso dip and a pitcher of margarita, all of this pairs great together. Definitely recommend this place if you're looking to eat some authentic Mexican. read more

Since the very first time I step foot in that place I've been hooked. It got so bad I would visit a couple times a week and one of the guys would say "See you tomorrow". Their tacos are always delicious. The meat is juicy, all of your food is at the temperature it's supposed to be (if you have a hot dish it's gonna be HOT). Seemed like the typical mexican restaurant with all the fiesta decor. Its an old Don Pablos building from back in the day. 2 story's. There was a snow storm hence the reason we stopped during 5 o'clock traffic, besides being hungry and avoid such chaos on the roads. Found this place on yelp and reviews seemed decent, figured why not. When we arrived, myself w/4 kids - we were seated at an 8 top closest to the stairway/door. Not sure why since we were the ONLY customers in there so every time employees went in and out to shovel snow which seemed like a lot since it was coming down hard, we got hit with cold air so we ended up literally leaving our coats on the entire time. A booth far away from the door would have been more suiting considering 2 small children, 2 11 yr olds and myself. No bueno! Queso very expensive for the very small portion they give you in a petri dish. I had to order 2 just for the kids to have enough to share amongst one another. 3 sodas 3 kids bean burritos no sauce, cheese quesadilla add side of rice/bean and 3 tacos for myself 2 goundbeef, 1 carnitas + small margarita. The tacos were the only good deal stuffed with a ton of meat but not very flavorful so kind of disappointed, that was about it. Over $63 for about $10 in food. Server was nice. Food was blah for the $$. Prob wont return since we are usually not on this side of town and with so many other mexican restaurants in this area we would prob try a different place. I decided I wanted to hang out with my friends today and this place happened to be open. I've never heard of it never been there on a 125 I would give this a four stars only because the server did not take the time to make sure that our drinks were completely full all the time and did not attend to us as a server was supposed to. The food was great and the atmosphere was nice my only flaw walking away from this with the server not paying attention to the people who were at her tables. We actually spent here 10 minutes with all of our drinks at the bottom waiting for her. To give her just a little bit of credit it was closing time so she may very well have been preparing to close as I didn't see many people in the restaurant as employees but that still none the less takes away from the fact that she should have been focused on her customers. Overall it was a great experience I just think the service could have been a little bit better read more

My burrito looked good but was very bland. Had to spice it up with hot sauce. That was reason we stopped going-food wasn't well seasoned. It was so good for a change hearing yes for a change instead of we can't do that! Great job. Our orders came out quickly and the food was hot, tasty and priced reasonable. In my opinion Poblano's is one of the best Mexican restaurants on the east side, if not in the city. The chile verde is the absolute BEST! The pork flavor is like nothing I have ever tasted and it's always hot and fresh. They have a great salsa and a white queso dip that is amazing. You cam' t go wrong with the staples of steak or seafood fajitas, tacos, or a taco salad but the chile verde is what we love. We ordered over the phone. Nothing was ordered special, just exactly as it is on the menu. We picked up our order. When we got home the order was not correct. I was missing my sides and my husband was missing the tortillas for his meal. We tried calling (they were still open for an hour) and no one answered the phone. We called multiple times. It went to a voicemail that was full/not working. I sent a Facebook message as well which they replied the next day to say they would speak with the manager and get back to me about the mishap. They never did get back to me. We decided to eat the food even with disappointment. When I bit in I realized they stuffed my sides inside the burrito. I have no idea why they did that. I did not ask for that to be done. If I were dining in I'd ask them to remake that. Also, my husbands food was so salty he couldn't enjoy it.
