First of all, I apologize for this rating. I do not like giving small businesses such reviews. After paying online, I called to confirm that my appointment was for dip powder removal and I was told a note was made of it. There is a $7.50 booking fee which is half the price of the gel removal. When I walked in, they had no idea I had dip powder, but quickly found the right tools. The technician that worked with me did not wear a mask, which was surprising because she was a substitute for my original technician who had canceled due to COVID. Honestly, the process was painful. I still have cuts and dried blood on my cuticles from it. I kept saying it hurt but nothing was given to soothe my cuts during the service. In the end, I asked for the nail strengthener that salons usually put on after such removal, but was told that was not part of the package. Then, when I went to pay, the bill was a whopping $29. For just removing the dip powder off my nails! They said they were not aware it was dip beforehand (which is not true) so the price was increased but this was literally doubled! I will not be coming back here because the prices are definitely not what they seem and my nails feel so brittle right now. I usually wait to scrape off the polish but wanted my nails to remain healthy which is why I came in. Big Mistake. read more

This was my first time at Tres Chic and it won't be my last. I am a very big Aveda fan and have gotten my hair done all over the US & Canada when I'm on the road for work. I stopped in and requested the usual. A light blonde, full head of highlights. However they recommended a shadow root, which looked great - but wasn't what I was used to. Maybe being overly particular I panicked and asked if they could lighten me up. They were AMAZING. Not only did they get me back in to make sure I was 100% happy, but spent an immense amount of time and effort to ensure I was happy with the results. My sister booked me an appointment here for a hair conditioning treatment, blow dry+ style and an express pedicure for my birthday. I was greeted by the hostess and was taken back to the station to work with Karrington and she was so kind and amazing!! We talked the whole time and she did such a great job with everything. Parking is so convenient at this place, just on the outside of downtown Cleveland. It's a smaller space than I'd expected, but very tastefully decorated, and the stylists all seemed to enjoy being there. I have a little bit mixed reaction giving this rating. I had a great time when I was at the salon--everything was really clean and cute and I had a great conversation with my stylist. They were also able to schedule my sister at around the same time and we were able to sit next to each other while we got our services done, which I thought was great because it's not a huge salon! I got nail extensions and a gel pedicure for my wedding the following day. It took a little bit longer than I expected but my feet were in rough shape and I was super happy with how it turned out so I figured it was better I had some forced relaxation. Cut to the next morning--one of my toes has already chipped. Half the polish on my middle toe is gone! Cut to getting into my dress before my bridal portraits--the extension on my left thumb nail pops off! It wasn't a big deal since I held my bouquet in most of the photos so you couldn't see my thumb much anyway. Obviously, did not ruin the wedding day or anything, but my manicure lasted less than 24 hours. Could've been user error, but I would think for the price you'd get some longer use. read more

Went to Chloe for a full balayage & was so happy she could get me in last minute! The staff is very friendly & the place is nice however, my hair results were not what I was expecting & I payed almost $300 for these results (see picture. Yes, those are before and after) When I reached out to Chloe and asked for a touch up or a partial refund, she let me know that they do not do any of that at this salon. Now i'm out 300$ & don't like my hair lol. Very disappointed in this situation as I definitely will not be returning. How do you not have a system in place for customers that are not happy with their hair results?? read more

I generally feel like you can't go wrong with booking with the owner, and I didn't. Katie listened to my preferences and as I also told her that I was open to input, she had some great suggestions and really followed through with a great new look for my short hair. I have been going to Tres Chic since it has opened, but this review isn't about me. I took my elderly parents to the salon for cuts. My mom uses a walker and my dad has memory issues. I had a wedding in Chicago one weekend, and hit up Tres Chic salon to get a simple gel manicure. I had in mind a very neutral color, as my dress was very colorful and I didn't want the colors to clash. The lady who helped me (I don't remember her name, but she was super nice, dark hair, and young) led me to the perfect color and was very personable and efficient in her work. We talked and talked while she did my nails, and the finished product was great. I will definitely be going back when I want a no-chip again. They are really friendly but the quality of work is mediocre. I came in for a blowout and it was something I could have done at home. The stylist basically rough dried all my hair until it was completely dry and then tried to go back over it with a round brush. That is not how you do a blowout and I have had a lot of them. You have to round brush and dry before the frizz seeps into the hair to get it shiny and smooth. Then she insisted on curling it with a curling iron. That is not a blowout!! A blowout creates waves with the round brush. I had also asked for my eye makeup to be done and when she finished it looked like a 3 year old had done my makeup. She also didn't have black eyeliner or mascara. What kind of salon has eye makeup as a service and then doesn't have someone that can do it properly and doesn't have a complete set of makeup! I had made an appointment for the following day for a wedding reception and unfortunately couldn't get another appointment at a salon last minute for hair and makeup so I ended up canceling makeup and just keeping my hair. I wanted my hair pinned half up with big curls/waves with a curling iron. Pretty simple and when she was done it looked like curly sue. My sister in laws both also had appointments there for hair and they were not thrilled with the results. I also saw another customer sitting there getting her updo re done about 3 times to get it right. Overall all the salon is nice but the stylists need some additional training. read more

I joined yelp specifically to leave this review. It has been over a year since I first went to tres chic. And I am still trying to fix the damage to my hair. I went in initially to get my hair cut and lightened and toned. The stylist said she could absolutely give me my reference picture look! I left with it looking not close to my picture but I didn't hate it. Really I just wanted to leave. Then after my first wash at home, all the toner washed out and my hair looked terrible. It was expensive so I had to deal with terrible hair for a few months and then decided to go back and give them another try. Oh my god. This time, I cried in the chair. I explained to a different stylist what happened the first time, showed my reference picture, and she said she would 100% be able to achieve the look I was going for. As she blow dried my hair I burst into tears. It looked even WORSE than when I went in. She said she would "fix it". It still looked like shit but I was so upset I wanted to leave and lost complete faith in the salon. So I overpaid again and left miserable. It's now been a year and I am still trying to fix the damage. I have a new amazing salon who were upfront: they wouldn't be able to give me the look I want because of what tres chic did to my hair! Now, after all this time trying to fix this garbage place's mistakes, I have had to give up on my hair goals, chop their mistakes off, and start over completely. This was the worst salon experience of my life. And the consequences of their actions has cost me near $1200, a foot of hair, and hopes of my hair looking the way I have wanted and finally have been financially able to afford after 6 years of wanting it. read more

I was in town for work and had some time to kill so I stopped by this salon to get my nails done. I didn't have an appt but was seen right away by the owner. She was absolutely awesome! So so fun to chat with. It did take a bit of time to get my nails done. The owner was training a new staffer so the appt kept getting interrupted while she ran over to supervise a hair cut but it was absolutely no big deal. They had just opened when I went, so I'm not sure if there've been any updates, but at the time there was only one spa station for pedicures, so generally I would suggest making an appt. My nails turned out beautifully. I just got regular mani/pedi but it didn't chip for at least a week which is impressive for non-gel polish. The only negative was that the total was $69.00 pre tip. At my usual salon, I usually pay around 50 or 55 depending on if I have them do any sort of design. I'm assuming the pricey nails are because that isn't really what they want their main business to be (hair cuts/styling) but overall it was a wonderful experience with fun company so I'm still going to give it five stars! read more

I was in Cleveland for a wedding and wanted to get my hair and makeup done. After reading reviews of multiple places, I settled on Tres Chic. I emailed and heard back quickly, with answers to my questions about cost and timing. Katie, the owner, was available for my appointment, so I asked for her, expecting her expertise to be top notch. I was not disappointed. I didn't have to wait at all; Katie washed my hair herself, and I think it took less than 20 minutes for her to blow it out. She clearly knew what she was doing but was also amenable to my requests to adjust the style to my liking. After the blowdry, she asked a few questions about how I liked my makeup, and then got right to it. I was in the salon for no more than an hour. Her makeup application was exactly what I wanted -- not too dramatic, and well suited to my age and skin type. I felt like a million bucks from the moment I left the salon until I washed my face 9 hours later. The blowout still looked great the next day, too. Highly recommend. If I lived in Cleveland, this would be my go-to salon. read more

We were in Cleveland for a family wedding and I found Tres Chic on Yelp. My whole experience exceeded any expectations I had. I love the way Caitie did my hair, but beyond that, the service was incredible. I love my salon at home because it makes me feel so welcome and Tres Chic did the same - even though I was from out of town. There is such a great atmosphere in the salon - you're welcomed with a beverage in beautiful bone china cups, given a hair massage and hand massage, and are cared for in such a lovely way. I went for a pramasana scalp treatment and a trim for my fine, curly hair. Both were wonderful! I loved the trim and style. It's hard to find people who know curly hair but they definitely do! The salon is an Aveda salon, so they use great aveda products as well. Little touches like the tea, arm and hand massage, and make up touch up add a little something extra to the experience.
