But as a Bridesmaid in my friends wedding, I had to get my nails done. After spotting The Beauty Room's good reviews, I decided to give this spot a try. On a less busy day/time, I felt the safest I could have in a salon. I truly appreciated that the staff wore their masks properly and social distanced. Because I was there mid-afternoon, it was very quiet. Jessica did my gel pedicure and she was fantastic! Trust me, there is such a thing as a bad nail professional. But Jessica is highly-skilled and even color matched the color I needed to match my dress. She's super personable and I liked her so much I immediately followed her on Instagram! I wish the pedicure chairs were adjustable. I'm tall and felt very crunched up and uncomfortable, but not much can be done about that. The salon is super clean, spacious and newly built. They have a free parking lot behind the business...but don't be fooled by the "you'll be towed" signs. You can park there as long as you're at the business. The whole process is pretty simple and they send out text reminders to keep you on track! The salon itself is really cute. I would say it's rustic-chic. If you get there early, there's a cute sitting area and coffee! I know haircuts can be pretty subjective, but I've never had any problems with Jenny. I personally always hate making small talk when I go to the hair salon, but I don't feel awkward​ about it at Tease. All of the other stylists​ seem personable as well! I messaged her on a Monday--she responded the next day and apologized and told me "sometimes with the lightning it ends up being a bit yellow" (that's never happened to me). Requested I give it a few more washes and another week and she would then tone it. (Toning would darken--not lighten). She said she looked over my photos and said when I left the salon she thought she did what I wanted--she did however it washed out. I messaged her to let her know that I went some place else. Where I was informed that she did not leave it on my hair long enough and it was not blended well at all. I had paid $360 (with tip, to Mallory). She not only didn't offer to refund ANY of my money, she also didn't even apologize that I had went someplace else. I would never go back to her based on the lack of response and refund. Terrible.

Then when my mom asked her name, she chastised my 82 year old mother who has memory issues, for not remembering her name - since we had been there several months ago and Juliet had told her her name THEN! Again, very hostile! She also criticized my mom for cutting her nails too short and started lecturing her about how to cut her nails. It was very demeaning. The girl who did my nails was mostly quiet however seemed pretty dismissive and unfriendly as well. As my nail color was drying, I could tell there were big ridges and bumps in the polish and when I started to touch it, she yelled at me and told me not to touch it, that it was the nail oil that was still "setting". Now I've done my own nails enough to know when I see ridges and bumps in my polish - no amount of nail oil is going to fix that! Juliet put my moms toes under a drying lamp and even tho my mom told her it was touching one of her nails, she was ignored and after we walked out and looked closer at her toes, we saw that the polish on her big toe was smeared! So $55 a piece for 2 pedicures where both of us will have to redo our nails again - or live with the results! Even checking out, since we both had gift cards on file - they told my mom she had enough on hers to pay for both but then said we could use mine for the tip ($40!) I agreed, thinking she would use SOME of that credit for the tip but she assumed I meant ALL of it! - So I guess we now paid for the "Spa Pedi's" after all! I don't even care that I don't have any credit there anymore since we will never be back!

I selected Statement Pedicure ($60) with gel add-on and removal ($15). I received luxury add-on free - lip mask. I selected colors from an old school book but screen try-one are also an option. I went with tried and true OPI but other options/brands are available. I love the pedicure area that includes privacy dividers and curtains. If you're doing pedicure solo, you can be separated from other guests. If you're visiting with the group, the curtain can be lifted. It creates a very relaxing experience. I asked for tea (quite a few choices) and my tea magically appeared at my chair when I arrived. The chair rotates to let you easily climb in, has gentle massage and heat. Gel removal starts with cute plastic clip-ons for quicker removal. You are asked about shaping and the number of coats. I liked my nail tech and her preciseness. Plan for a bit extra time (over an hour) if you're planning to take gel off and reapply gel. I feel like other salons have more masks as part of the pedicure service, but I was satisfied here. SERVICE: I'd love to add a few other reasons I love Statement. I recently called in to move up my appointment to an earlier time the day of. They easily switched me which seemed like a miracle. It was easy to get an appointment. The spa mani and pedi included hand/foot masks and a paraffin wax which was very nice. However, in the process the mani/pedi took just over 2.5 hours (after the 60 min massage) which meant spending almost 4 hours at the salon. I had called in advance while booking my apt to ask how long it would take, and was told in total it would be 2 hours. I was pretty disappointed that the manicure started chipping within hours of coming home. They use exclusively Zoya polish for their regular polish. The color I chose was streaky, so the layers applied were so thick that even not touching anything for over an hour was not enough. Additionally, the color selection was pretty limited - I had initially wanted yellow for summer but it was not available. Overall, was nice for a gift card. Plan your day accordingly if you come.
