Overnight oats were the surprise sleeper. Absolutely delicious. Service was lacking. There were plenty of staff, but it took way too long to get my cream for my first pour of coffee. And when I asked for a refill, I waited 10 minutes before she returned with the check but still no coffee. Overall it seems like they are still trying to find their footing. Aesthetically beautiful but some weird misses. For example, the bathroom is gorgeous and almost insta worthy, but then there's no mount for the toilet covers so they are just jammed behind the toilet like an afterthought. Our first time at Treo was for the holiday special. The day was beautiful, and the glass enclosure allowed us to see it all. We got there before it got too busy, and we saw the staff very busy cleaning up the empty tables. We got our coffee and selected juices (which tasted good), then we headed for the buffet, and we were not disappointed. The selection was very good, and everything we tried tasted good. I appreciated the omelet bar, make-your-own hot chocolate, and assorted food. We could find out how much the buffet is normally, but it looks like $30-$50, so we would go back when there's another holiday promotion. read more

I had a quick lunch here before leaving for the airport. This seems to be the main Gaylord restaurant and share some items with Growlers. They also have a breakfast buffet that is offered. Another pricey experience that's pretty well worth it. I went in at maybe 9pm for a single glass of wine and it cost my $35. I came back next day and asked for cheapest and it was $12. The breakfast buffet. Unbelievably expense. $42 for adults and $24 for children? When all they will eat is 1 doughnut? Good lord. Wife let me come solo and I'll say the buffet was up there, very up there. Downsides: the scrambled eggs are from a carton, the asparagus was cold, the bacon was baked or air fried. Upsides: the omelette bar was incredible, the sausages were incredible, the croissants were incredible, the quiche was incredible. Just make sure you don't choose the standard items such as eggs and bacon and you will ever satisfied. Service was nice but the restaurant is really bright. Treo Kitchen & Bar is the all-day in-house restaurant at the Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center in Chula Vista. I believe they are the only one that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner whereas the other eateries don't have the same extensive operating hours. The inside was very modern and spacious with a bar to the right when you entered the premises. Buffet stations were towards the back of the dining area where breakfast was served. I visited in the late evening to catch dinner before they closed at 10 pm. The one-page lunch/dinner menu was posted outside the entrance. Cocktails and mocktails were in the left column; shareables, soups, and salads were in the middle of the sheet; and mains and desserts made up the right column. Everything was priced at a premium for being a restaurant in an upscale hotel. Three entrees were offered only after 6 pm... poisson du jour, pork chop, and a NY cut wagyu steak. The fish of the day was a branzino fillet which was what I chose. It was prepared in a shallow oval pan with brown butter, almond, cauliflower, lemon, brioche, and herbs. Maybe a root vegetable like carrots or a puree of whipped potatoes would have been a reasonable side for the boneless fish. The melted butter pooled up in the bottom of the dish which took away from the presentation. My waitress was busy multi-tasking with serving different parties and also clearing off settings at the empty tables for the end of the night. I had to flag her down to get my check closed out. Treo's setting was nice, however I felt the menu choices could have been more expansive. Based on the price and quality of the poisson du jour, I gave a 3.5 star rating for my dinner at Treo Kitchen & Bar. read more

Treo was one of our dining options while staying here for a company event. We had their breakfast buffet two days in a row and were really impressed with the selection. There was a charcuterie board, an omelet station, and all the usual breakfast options...cereal, oatmeal, bacon, potatoes, eggs. Some days they had French toast, waffles, or pancakes. Fresh fruit, donuts, and more were available as well. One morning the half and half kept curdling in our coffee, but it was fine the next day. The coffee itself is not great though. We also tried dinner there. I had a really interesting pasta with corn that was good and unlike anything I've had before. My mom had the steak frites, which was a bit over-salted. Our server barely checked on us and kept forgetting what we asked for. She was young and it seemed like the staff could use more service training, especially since the restaurant is so new. She didn't offer dessert, but we wanted some. The lemon cheesecake was unusual...not bad, but the oat crust was weird and the lemon sauce was very tart. The sorbet, however, was delicious. Overall, the food is creative and the breakfast buffet is excellent, but service could use improvement. read more

This is one of the most beautifully designed restaurants I've seen in a while. Clean, thoughtful, nature accented without over doing it. Love the wood furniture paired with black and floor to ceiling windows! We sat by the bar for some drinks to catch up. I had the Piña Loco cocktail since I love rum mixed with anything that grows along the equator. I don't know how but Jacob our bartender made it a treat to the senses. It tasted and looked incredibly good. It reminisces a vacation on the beach followed by a nap in a cabana. I also tried the Citrus Collins which was super refreshing and just easy to drink. He burned some thyme as a garnish and every time you take a sip and smell it, turns into a different experience. Unexpected. I just can't say enough about how gorgeous the design of this place is. My parents came down for a vacation weekend and had an amazing experience on multiple days at Theo kitchen and bar. Service was exceptional. The employees were even more friendly than Disney cast members. Food was excellent. My mom got a fresh omelette made to order. The breakfast buffet was fabulous. It was a nice, relaxing ambience at a beautiful waterfront resort. Ivan in particular was fantastic! We thanked him for being such a wonderful server/busser. While staying at the hotel we decided to have dinner here with my family. The hostess was probably the most inexperienced hostess I ever dealt with but our friendly waitress Alex was very nice and attentive. The ambiance here is nice, at least the outdoor patio area during dinner time. The drinks we ordered were delicious so was the wagyu burger. The steak and fries tasted ok and my Caesar salad was average. Overall the food was 7 out of 10 ...overall service was 5 out of 10. The Steak Frites...They serve a hanger steak...it's a cheaper cut of steak, kind of chewy, fine let's roll with it.. but the sauce, the "al poivre" was disappointing. The flavor is off, my wife literally spit it out. The kids salmon was pleasant for my 10 year old. Overall, need better options, better cuts, don't go to overboard with sauce. Came here for the Christmas buffet. The food was good. Enjoyed the available options though there could have been more of them. They just had the basics like beef, ham, plus a handful of vegetable options, one soup option and a salad bar with only two dressing options. The roast beef was cooked to a perfect medium rare to medium and was tender and flavorful. They had a desert spread that pretty much mostly consisted of various types of cookies. SMH Disappointing. The ambience was nice, wait staff was very attentive with keeping our table clean and making sure everything was fine. The resort itself was quite beautiful and expansive with a huge entrance area complete with places to sit and have a drink while watching a game on what seemed like 30 foot screens. The whole area had floor to celling glass spanning wall to wall to watch the sunset. Stunning. Cost for the buffet was average for a holiday but it just needed more. Been here twice for dinner and both time the food was very good. The first time I shared the wagyu burger and tasted the cavatelli pesto pasta. We also ordered the artichoke flatbread for the table. Both the burger and pasta was REALLY good! Thank goodness for that because for a $30 burger, it better be more than good. The patty was delicious and the bread held up to the patty. The pesto pasta was amazing. Pasta Al dente and you can really taste the pesto and they must be using some good olive oil because the sauce is addicting. Second time around we came for my birthday. Hubby ordered the wagyu burger. We ordered the Lumache Pasta with salmon and my daughter ordered the market soup of the day - southern chicken dumpling soup. The dishes were all amazingly delicious. The dumpling soup was very herbaceous. The salmon with the pasta was cooked to perfection. It was opaque but not dry. It still had that medium rare flavor but pink throughout. Again, cooked to perfection. What I want to brag about is the Meyer lemon cheesecake with raspberry sorbet!!! It was truly heavenly. The perfect balance with sweet and tart. The oat crumble gave it texture. All of our plates were empty. Not one thing left on any of our plates. Service was much much better than the first time we were here. But I think they got their groove on now since we first dined first week they were open. read more

Aug 10, 2025 Update: dined here again for lunch this weekend and I was sad that they removed Mary's Half Chicken from the lunch menu and moved it to dinner. they didn't have anything else on the lunch menu that caught eye so I just ordered a Cobb salad. -- Came here for lunch when Gaylord Pacific just opened. We ordered the Pacific Scallops and Marin County Brie + Fig Flatbread for shareables. Scallops were nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly. I love anything with brie so the flatbread was a nice appetizer. For our Entree, we got the Mary's half chicken, cavatelli pesto pasta & Wagyu burger. My favorite was the chicken. We were hesitant to order the chicken since it sounded too basic but the waiter insisted. Nicely broiled skin outside and juicy inside and packed with flavor. The pesto sauce tasted fresh. Opted to add protein in the meal so ordered grilled chicken with it. Wagyu beef was big and juicy and cooked perfectly per your preference. For dessert, we ordered the pistachio and honey crème brûlée and Meyer lemon cheesecake. the crème brûlée was it melted in my mouth every bite. I love the ambiance of the restaurant. Spacious and open. There's also a private room good for up to 14 people. Waiters and staff are friendly and attentive. Wish there's a more expansive menu but I think that's the goal of the restaurant in the future. read more

Decided to check out the new Gaylord Hotel with some friends. Took the trolley there. Had a little walk around the premises and decided to have lunch at Treo's. I understand that restaurants in hotels are generally pricey. I didn't feel that this was a good value for the money. Food was good enough, it's a pretty venue, service was lacking a bit and it took over 1/2 hour to get our food! I ordered the Fall Squash Flatbread. It was good, not delicious. It seemed dry and had very small portions of the toppings on it, very,very skimpy on the sausage. Others in my group ordered the Wagyu burger and the lumache Pasta, a pasta with roasted forest mushrooms, mushroom jus, etc. The burgers were not cooked to the temperature as specified. Medium rare was a definite medium. The fries were delicious! A burger there is $30. The pasta was good, but was surprised that it was tiny shell pasta. There were tiny pieces of mushroom, the sauce was good but a skimpy portion for $28. It would have been nice for it to come with a nice piece of bread. Our server was not very familiar with the menu and the ingredients in the dishes. For example, for the flatbread they didn't know what saba was. So, we tried the restaurant once, can say that we saw the new Gaylord, but won't be back. By the way, I've been to the Gaylord in Nashville. That place is incredible! read more

This is a brand new place and I believe it's a work in progress. For example parking is a puzzle. What I mean is there's a parking structure on the backside of the Convention Center and it cost $45, there is no validation. The walk from this structure could be a physical challenge for some, you will have to cut through the hotel to get to the restaurant. However there is limited street parking if you get lucky like we did. Be advised the No parking sign says 1030 PM to 6:30 AM. We had 8 ppl in our Birthday party. With a reservation @6:15. We were late because of finding the place. Once we were ready a server walked us in and took us to an outside round table, it was enough room for us all. The seating is not close at all so your conversation shouldn't be over heard. However if you set inside it could be noisy as the sound bounces off of the interior walls. We were immediately as about beverages to order. A few minutes had passed before the wait staff took our order. There were a combination of entrees. From the steak, Burger, pizza from the kids menu, raw oysters. Albacore tuna sandwich to salad. Maybe timing was the key because it took some time for our orders to get to the table. Oh the beverages ordered were plentiful, Pepsi, lemonade, Mojito, and ample amount of water.I had the Tuna sandwich, the menu read as if it was a regular fish cooked and put on a plate. The wait staff did identify that dilemma, so I ordered it anyway, even that that Tuna sandwich was $30. To me thats over priced. To truly honest the menu options were all a tad bit over priced. For example the Burger was the same price as the Tina sandwich. I'm not saying people shouldn't pay for a good meal, I would say seriously be reasonable. I guess if you know well in advance and wouldn't want to pay that much for a Tuna sandwich at least you know the cost of you go there. Btw there are very small cucumbers on the wooden pick that holds everything to for the Tuna sandwich. For me it was delicious and I like Tuma!!!! We did also order dessert, there was Crème Brûlée, chocolate raspberry cake, with pop rocks, be aware...lemon cheesecake and the Browne with ice cream. The Browne did not taste like it was made fresh but as if it was taken out of a box. All other desserts were delicious. Be advised if you must used the restroom they are men and women shared, first one there goes first.The place is huge and with the right timing could yield a wonderful dining experience. Brought my dad here for Father's Day to check out the new Gaylord resort. It's beautiful they did an excellent job with the interior design, keep in mind this is a fine dining layout. So don't come here and complain about a $30 burger. If you don't want fine dining then don't eat here, simple as that. I gave it 4 star because the menu is small, the wines by the glass list was disappointing because there are no good obtains for people who enjoy more than Tue basic house wines. The only great wine options were by the bottle and there wasn't a variation in range, they were like $150 a bottle or higher. Now I did say it's fine dining, BUT I can find a bottle at most restaurants for $70-$90 or so and be happy but that was definitely a chief complain for me just options being so minimal. First time checking out the new Gaylord and it did not disappoint! Went to Treo for Valentines day with my wife and our server Cassandra was so lovely. Very friendly, attentative, and knowledgable. We ordered the Valentines day special, the surf and turf paired with a bottle of wine. It was delicious! We enjoyed the desert special to conclude our evening. we've been to the breakfast buffet here twice now and both times we've left with the same impression: not very many options for what it costs there's a cooked to order egg station that shares a table with a set of chafing dishes (just looked that word up thank you), a fruit and cereal bar, an admittedly fancy yogurt chiller, a modest display or desserts and pastries + i can't help but feel like it's just missing one more thing that puts it over the top don't get me wrong: i think the quiches are delicious, and everything they serve here is quality. but the price point approaches that of brunch in vegas, so my expectation for variety goes unmet ultimately, i get the feeling i'm just not in the target demo for this place, and that's okay. maybe one day :) read more

While visiting the newly opened Gaylord Pacific Resort in Chula Vista, we decided to stop for lunch at Treo Kitchen + Bar, located right inside the resort. When we arrived, the host let us know there would be a short 5-minute wait before seating us. While waiting, I checked Yelp and noticed the restaurant wasn't listed--so I took the initiative to register them myself. Once called in, we walked past a stylish bar and into a spacious dining area with plenty of seating options, including a nice outdoor patio. The atmosphere was modern and inviting with music playing in the background, though the acoustics made the chatter echo quite a bit due to the large space, making it a bit noisy. We chose to sit inside, and our waitress promptly took our drink orders. After the drinks arrived, she followed up with our food order. The restaurant was surprisingly busy for a Monday lunch, and there were quite a few staff on the floor. With my background in the restaurant industry, I couldn't help but notice that while the staff was energetic, some of them seemed a bit green and in need of additional training. For instance, we saw food runners delivering dishes to the wrong tables multiple times--and even had another table's food brought to us by mistake. We waited about 30 minutes for our meals, and it was the manager who eventually brought out our food. I mentioned our long wait, and to his credit, he immediately apologized and made things right by comping 2 out of our 4 dishes, which I found to be a generous and professional gesture. As for the food: The burger and fries, while flavorful and well put together, were unfortunately cold--clearly sitting too long before being served. The Caesar salad was fresh, but the lettuce was a bit too wet, likely from not being drained properly. We also ordered a shareable, which was actually quite good and a highlight of the meal. Despite the service hiccups and the temperature of some of the food, I do plan to return. It's a brand-new restaurant, and I understand there's a learning curve involved in opening a high-traffic location like this. The menu pricing was fair for an upscale resort setting, and I'm optimistic they'll work out the kinks over time. Final Thoughts: A beautiful new spot with a lot of potential. The ambiance, menu, and effort from the staff show promise. Just be prepared for some growing pains as they find their rhythm. I'll definitely be back to give it another shot. read more

Came here with some coworkers. Our first time at the Gaylord. Interior of Treo is very simple. Spacious inside but there is an echoing noise that once it gets crowded it's hard to hear people talking at your table. We were seated close to the window/patio area where you can see the pool. It was about 5:30pm and the sun was beaming in our face. The staff were very helpful trying to see how they can adjust our seats. The appetizers here were amazing. I loved the blue fin tuna crudo. I could eat it all night lol. Flavor was delicious. You can't go wrong with the flatbreads as well. The main dishes for me were okay. Although the fries are flavorful as well. Decided to eat at Treo inside the Gaylord Pacific while I waited out the sudden thunder and lightning upon arrival to the hotel. The restaurant was slammed because everyone had rushed inside from the pool at the same time. I patiently sat at the bar and watched John shake up cocktails as drink tickets kept flowing in. I could tell he was under pressure but he was super hospitable and was appreciative of my patience. As soon as he had a moment, he brought over a menu and some water before taking my drink order within a timely fashion. The lunch menu had some interesting options. I went with the Tuna Nicoise which I envisioned completely differently than what arrived, but the flavors of this dish were actually pretty good, I had just imagined an ahi tuna steak instead of canned tuna. Overall a pretty delicious protein rich dish with a nice side salad. Also got the Yuzu Margarita which John made for me with pride, and yes it's a fun cocktail. 12/25/25 We arrived at Treo for the Christmas Day buffet for $75 per person about an hour before close. We made reservations on their website the Saturday prior and I am so pleased we chose this venue. The new Gaylord Pacific Resort is gorgeous and so is the restaurant! My parents were running a bit late but my best friend and I were very graciously offered seating in their lounge or bar inside. Decorations were quite pretty; neither too much or too little. Loved the chocolate and ice blue ornaments together giving a rustic coastline vibe. I was a little scared when I saw how few the offerings were at first walking to our table. The layout seemed small and relatively simple. We were seated by the sweetest hostess and introduced to the most festive and upbeat server Sandra. She was an absolute gem the entire evening checking on us frequently and constantly changing out silverware and plates. We quickly got to the buffet and the actually food was quite good. Their salad bar was a standout with additions like pomegranate seeds, cornichons and both shaved manchego and parmesan cheeses. Added the cheese to my mashed potatoes later lol. They did have a lobster bisque that had a wonderful rich flavor but was unfortunately cold and did not have any discernable meat (I like to add some crab or shrimp to my homemade bisque; Pete's Seafood in North Park is my gold standard though) in the body. The buffet staff was so kind and generous with their portions as well. The chimichurri prime rib was cooked perfectly and was quite flavorful even without the au jus. Salmon was excellent especially with the melted butter accompaniment. The ham was served with an exceptional brown sugar glaze. They had a sweet potato fixings bar that looked quite good as well. I really enjoyed the creamed spinach, brocolini and mashed potatoes as sides. The potatoes au gratin looked a bit gray and unappealing however. The macaroni and cheese did have a decent flavor just really hardly any cheese on it! My only other disappointment was the dessert bar. I was hoping for a cheesecake or cold offering but sadly they just had a peppermint mousse, some cookies and donut holes. Oh and a yule log cake. Desserts were sadly subpar but the cookies were decorated nicely. Overall due to the superb service, atmosphere and quality of the meat offerings Treo gets a 4 out of 5. Let me start by saying--I wasn't expecting much, but wow! My wife ordered the pesto pasta, my son had a burger, and I went with the rotisserie chicken... and that chicken was incredible! Atmosphere is beautiful and service is good. Food was very disappointing. The $30 Wagyu burger was underwhelming. I think I'd prefer an In N Out burger for $5 instead Scallops are a joke. 4 small bites for $30 and it was drowned in a bowl watery lemon vinegar solution completely killing the flavor. Flatbread was stale. Flavor was too sweet - like a desert. Pesto pasta was disappointingly small of a serving, but good tasting. I hope they make some changes read more

Treo Kirchen is a brand new restaurant located inside the impressive Gaylord Pacific Resort. If you haven't been, it's a must-try. They have traditional favorites. My husband and I are vegan and although the menu doesn't inside much options, the chef made accommodations. I'm pretty sure that as they grow, their menu will evolve as well and I can't wait to come back. read more
