Our visit was long overdue..... We had to swing by since our soldier is home visiting. The menu has changed a bit.... Unfortunately they stopped making pizza/ flatbreads. However, we were told that they'll be bringing it back soon. We were trying to order their fish and chips but they ran out..... Whomp whomp. Luckily they still had a lot of other good options. Everything we had was yummy (like always). Great service and vibes. Just like old times..... What we ordered: * Bavarian Pretzel * The Burger w/ Onion Rings (shared) * Bleu Cheese & Bacon Smash Burger w/ Tater Tots * Peach Bourbon Crush * Paper Plane * Irish Mule

While the food is OK, the restaurant has good service and a friendly atmosphere. Staff are friendly and helpful, and this place is pretty busy with people hanging out after work. I enjoyed the chicken schnitzel - simple and tasty. Not pictured is the gravy that they gave in a separate container so that the chicken wouldn't get soggy. The Hen House appetizer (chicken sliders) were pretty good. Some of the chicken was tough, but the bread is sweet and the pickles they use are excellent. Tater tots are very good, no complaints. Super crunchy. The cinnamon roll is OK. Something about it doesn't feel like a classic cinnamon roll, as if they are using some other type of dough. Little tougher but flavor is still good. They also don't put too much icing which I like as it doesn't overpower the roll.

I visited the Vogue Tavern with my family and overall it's was a very nice experience. The place is like a small sports bar well decorated with a full bar lots of TVs and a nice menu. The service was excellent. The food was very good and would definitely go back. The bottle beer was a little warm but other than that no complaints.

I love the Vogue. We popped in for some beers and snacks after seeing a movie, and even though I'd been here before for meals, this was my first late-night jaunt. The place was poppin! Great people watching, excellent service, and perfect beers. Absolutely will be returning.

I had such a great time at the vogue tavern! I wish I would've gone on a week day to try the happy hour, nevertheless, everything was great! The vibes are great with lots of people watching the games on the tv and servers are very nice people!! The food was really good too! Can't wait to be back!

As soon as I came into this bar, there was NO welcome at all!! I already DISLIKED this bar as soon as I noticed the guys at the front of the restaurant were just staring at me, NOT coming towards me to seat me down! When this bar ISN'T even busy at all! Sorry, customer service is everything!!!!

This little love is so fun. Amazing happy hour . If you go on Tuesdays you get happy hour and taco Tuesday specials. The beer is cold . The pretzel bites are delicious. They have really good sausages . Trivia night on Tuesday's.

In the heart of downtown Chula Vista. A chill place to be if you want to stay local! Servers here are all nice. Food could be a little better in terms of flavor. Definitely comes out fresh though! A bit expensive for it being bar food. Tacos are a pass but the French fries and wings are good! Parking is convenient.

The server was a great person The music playing in the background was great, theClash The beer and beer selection was good I had 2 beers The food was bad. I ordered a small salad to start I couldn't eat it, the lettuce was not crunchy and wilted . I just ate the croutons and cucumbers. I didn't complain when the server picked up the partially eaten salad. Then I ordered a burger. I cut it in half like I always do. I ate most of 1 half of it, and then I looked and I got kind of grossed out. I couldn't finish it when the waiter came by. He saw how pink it was and he took the burger off my bill Without me saying anything which I thought that was quite kind of him. This was my first time in this area so I rolled the dice and walked in. Other than that, the place had a really cool vibe to it.

The bison burger was good. Was very juicy and surprisingly good. The service was great. The person recommended a few items and was very friendly. Ordered some tater tots as well as we need something starchy with the burger. Will come here again, especially that crispy tots.

    Do you sell gift cards?

    Yes we do.

Do they have a full bar or just beer? Is there a wine selection posted somewhere?

    Beer wine only until Spring.

    Is this business dog friendly?

    Yes indeed

Kid's allowed in or straight up Tavern/bar?

Kids are allowed and welcomed! We are a family friendly establishment.

Only 10 of us stayed because nobody could handle the cigar aroma which I had no problem with . So we finally settle in , all had to sit at separate tables due to no table big enough to accommodate our party (which is why we wanted outside seating) . Took almost 20 minutes for me to finally get a beverage. Food was pretty good but the hot sauce is what I liked the most , I'm always weak for some habanero kick. Fast forward to when we were leaving , rain was no longer in the forecast , never rained , could've watched the padre game AND they would've had 20 more customers ! Very disappointing and not sure if I'll ever consider to go back .

We found so much more than that. The burgers were outstanding, the drinks were ice cold (exactly what we needed on a hot day), and the service was exceptional. As we were leaving, the manager stopped to ask how everything was and when we'd be back. We told him we might return to SD the following Tuesday if we win the game the next day. That's when things got interesting. He smiled and said, "You're going to win tomorrow, and when you do, come back Tuesday and dinner is on me." Then he went one step further and predicted the final score: 6-4. My wife laughed and asked, "By the way... what's your name?" He replied, "Angel." Fast forward to game day. It was an absolute nail-biter. Late in the game, the score was tied in extra innings when our son stepped up to the plate and ripped a line drive to center field, driving in the two winning runs. Final score... 6-4. We couldn't believe it. Whether Angel has a crystal ball or was simply sending us off with some incredible encouragement, we'll never forget that experience. It's one of those stories our family will be telling for years. The Balboa South earned our business because of the delicious food and outstanding customer service. The unforgettable prediction was just the icing on the cake. Even though it wasn't busy, it took about 15 minutes to get our drinks. The guacamole was the star of the meal--fresh, flavorful, and honestly some of the best I've had. It was absolutely delicious! The carne asada fries, however, were a huge disappointment. For $24.99, there was barely any carne asada on them. They were mostly French fries with cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo, cilantro, and sour cream, with very little meat. They also lacked flavor and definitely weren't worth the price. The fresh guacamole saved the meal, but the slow service, being ignored at the bar, and the overpriced carne asada fries made for a disappointing experience

My wife tricked me into going with her to Walmart to pick up some shit, so I got to pick the spot for lunch and this is what I picked. Got there about 2 PM on Good Friday and there were a few people there but nothing crazy. Got seated right away and ordered drinks, a Pacifico for me, Sprite for the wifey - got them right away. For food, I got a BBQ bacon cheeseburger with tots, wifey got a regular bacon cheeseburger with everything plus fries, and I was curious so I also got the $10 chocolate (fudge) shake. Shake was delivered first. Expectations were high, and I was not disappointed. The shake was served in the metal tin, made with loads of real ice cream, whipped cream, fudge, drizzle of chocolate syrup, and chocolate sprinkles. Honestly not sure what I was thinking when mixing beer with shake, in hindsight I wouldn't do that again... but it was one of the best shakes I've had in a long while. Burgers came out shortly afterwards. Wifey's was cooked perfectly medium, which is an unusual thing for most burger places these days; most of the time when I order a burger medium, it comes out medium well or well done. These were both perfectly medium. Both burgers came out with a generous amount of potato products, more than either of us could hope to stuff down our gullets in one sitting. The food was outstanding. The service was great. The music was too loud for the wife but it was the kind of music that is supposed to be played loud so no points off for that from me. A nice vibe overall. I'll definitely be back.
