First time at Gaylord Resort. We went to check it out, see the pools, walk around and have a bite to eat. We want to spend the day at the pools next time. The sports bar is huge. Our server Felicia was great. We watched some of the Germany vs Paraguay on a humongous TV wall. We shared a Wagyu burger and Peach cobbler. The burger was so delicious and deeply rich flavor. It also had some truffle oil which was really good. The fries were perfectly made and very crispy. Unfortunately, we ordered medium rare burger but got medium to medium well. The peach cobbler was outstanding with fresh peaches and a strudel topping. There's free 3 hour street parking and $45 garage parking.
Great sports bar. Lots of beer options on tap. Apps come out quicker than you can blink. Also, GREAT staff
After we checked into the hotel my family and I came here to have lunch and watch the FIFA game. Spain vs Belgium. The huge tv here made it so fun to watch. And of course Spain won !!!! The service here is friendly and welcoming. The food we ordered was pretty good for bar food. The buffalo chicken and fries were my most favorite. The wings were really good too so were the nachos. My son loved his burger and my nephew said his Philly steak sandwich was good. The beer selection is great. Overall we had an amazing time here watching the game and enjoying our food. We are planning to come back tomorrow night for dinner and to watch another game. The ambiance is fun here.
This restaurant is inside the Gaylord Pacific resort. The food selection was typical for a sports bar. They have huge TV screens playing various sports. We only got appetizers, drinks and desserts. Our waitress, Asia, was very good. The app we selected was fried Brussels, which was okay. The drinks were pretty good. The dessert , again, was acceptable but nothing wowed me. But if you're staying at the resort, it's a good option as it's not as expensive as the other options and it's casual.
While in Chula Vista last week for a conference, I found myself here daily. Sometimes twice. Honestly, there are worse options for me than a sports bar. The food was solid, the beer choices were very sound (you automatically add a star when Pliny the Elder is on the tap list, no? ), and the service was great, whether I was seated at the bar, or at a table with others. What made this place stand out though were the TVs. I mean, a 70' screen? (And, yes, 70 feet, not inches). There were multiple large TVs, in fact, and plenty all over the restaurant, which was simply quite a site. I'd love to be spend an NFL Sunday in there, or even an NBA finals game...cool spot for sure.
Popped in with a few friends to watch the NHL playoffs. Their TV is MASSIVE!!!! And it had hockey on with sound which is unheard of in SD Our experience from start to finish was amazing. Our server, Dominika was the BEST!! Super attentive and accommodating. I had the smash burger and it was on point. Highly recommend this restaurant. The patio has a nice view of the harbor as well.
Got curious with the newly opened Gaylord Resort. We went on Black Friday noon time, Growlers is the only restaurant opened on that day. Let's start with ambiance. They do have a giant TV monitor for different sports. This place is good for family, friends or even couples. Customer service is awesome. Everybody is friendly! They keep on checking on us. The food? It's American menu. Love the food! I ordered the cheese hotdog minus the chili (i dont eat chili). Im satisfied with it, cuz they toasted the bun. The loaded fries is not as good as the one from another sports bar restaurant. The cheese sauce has the "sour" from a sour cream taste. It's still good, cuz it's bacon is a canadian bacon, so it's lean meat. Overall experience, satisfied! We will surely return to this place.
First off, you can validate the first two hours of your parking, and there's plenty of it in the parking structure. It's a short walk to the sports bar. You check in right at the entrance and they ask you if you'd like a table, or sit at the bar. When walking in your jaw sort of drops when you see how large the TV screens are the NHL playoffs were on and it was so thrilling to watch on such a large screen! There's a pretty decent size menu and a nice amount of beers on draft. The food was a little pricey, but the quality was really good, and you have to keep in mind. You're at a resort. The staff were very helpful, delivering excellent customer service. After dinner, we walked around and checked out the resort. Can't wait to check out the pool sometime!
First and foremost the service is very attentive, great place to watch live sports. Especially with World cup around the corner. Food is a variety of everything you love from a sports bar. Perfect to get multiple apps to share, Recommend the giant pretzel. And or the carne asada fries.The Philly cheese we had was great however if you don't like spice be careful as it has pickled jalapenos mixed in that can make it overwhelming if you are wanting a traditional Philly. Beer and Alcohol options are on point for those wanting to try various draft options or classic cocktails to quality signature drinks. Little bit of everything even for someone not wanting to drink. The outside patio with a beautiful view is a must as they also have heaters when it gets cold .

Growlers is located inside the Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center to the left of hotel registration. Very nice sports bar with giant screens filled with sports. The dining area is quite open with a lot of space in between tables so it doesn't feel crowded. Service was attentive and quick. Had drinks and a late night snack one evening there. Ordered a Bulleit rye old fashioned which was served with a giant clear ice cube. It was well-made but just wish it was filled up a tad higher for $18. For the appetizer we went with their half dozen chipotle honey citrus glaze chicken wings for $22. Bright citrus upfront, smoky heat on the finish. I would order 2 of these as my main next time! We shared their huge $26 angus beef burger which included a side of battered fries. This was their premium burger blend topped with smoked cheddar, served on a brioche bun with creamy guacamole, garlic aioli, caramelized beer onions, and fresh lettuce. Messy but delicious! They accept take phone togo orders so you have to walk in to place a takeout order. Growlers closes at midnight so plan accordingly if you stop by.
This restaurant is located at the Gaylord Hotel, it has a beautiful setting as you walk in to the building lots of fine dining on the first floor, Jocelyn was an excellent waitress. The service was very good. Multiple people checked on me. The ambience here is definitely beer and sports themed. Also, this place is built for a large crowd. I tried the chicken wings, the southwest chicken salad, and banana pudding, it's definitely worth stopping by here
Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 What an epic wall of TVs! Feet upon feet of big screen TVs playing today's football games. It was truly a spectacle. Couple that with the delicious food and drinks, needless to say, we had a great time at Growler's. We had the fried shrimp basket, the wagyu burger, and the Southwest crispy chicken salad. Everything was delicious and the portions were huge. The shrimp basket had 9 huge and crunchy fried shrimp with cole slaw and fries. The wagyu burger was perfectly prepared with the caramelized onions were a perfect addition. The dressing on the southwest salad had a little kick which I liked, but was too spicy for others at the table. The service was prompt and attentive despite the bar being pretty crowded. We will definitely be back to watch more games here!

We stopped by for a quick bite and unfortunately had just missed happy hour. Despite how busy they were, we were seated outside on the patio right away. We ordered the crispy chicken sandwich, the kids cheeseburger and chips with guacamole with salsa. The chicken was perfectly crispy, juicy, and well seasoned. The fries were crunchy and perfectly salted, and my son loved his cheeseburger. The guacamole was pretty tasty, but I can't say the same for the salsa. It was pretty bland. Our server, Celeste, was very attentive and took care of us. I appreciated that she also went out of her way to move the umbrellas to make sure the sun wasn't in our faces. I loved sitting outdoors during sunset. It was quiet in the patio, and even though the ocean is in the distance, the view was lovely. read more

Bay far the most popular restaurant at the Gaylord. I am not drinking much so I can't speak to that quality but the food was mid+. We got the nacho fry things and the Caesar salad. The nacho fries were average plus. Cheese sauce, green onion, bacon. It did well being fancy for basic stuff. Wife's Caesar salad was remarkable. Fresh parm all over it. The beer chili was insanely good. Get a cup of that on the side. The venue is huge. 5 huge giant projector or tvs at the back. The patio has a dedicated bar, is also large and has a grass area below for kids to play. read more
Growlers is inside the Gaylord Pacific Chula Vista hotel. It's not a quick in and out. You need to drive around the hotel on the ocean side to enter the parking structure. Then a 8-10 minute walk through the convention center to get to the hotel. So if you have someone with trouble walking, handicapped or elderly, this place will be challenging. Now, we came in a weekend. The food was amazing! Service was top notch on a Thursday night around 10:30pm. A big contrast to the very slow service we had at hotel lobby bar. Just come to growlers. Also this must have been the best nachos I ever had in my life. The chips were such a light, crispy texture. The pretzel too, it was perfect, can't even describe how perfect it was. It was perfection I didn't think a pretzel can ever be and blew me away. Haha I never even order pretzels, but you won't be disappointed. Drinks were fast and there is a big selection. read more
First the 76 foot sports screen is awesome. The bar is set up nicely with a nice patio as well. The staff is friendly. I ordered a craft beer from Chula Vista Brewery, it was nice and cold, light and refreshing. Also ordered the carne asada fries which were very good. The meat was juicy and cooked well, the fries crisp and all the cheese, sauce, pickled onions, etc... put it over the top. Way to much for just one person but I gave it a good shot. The Bartender was quick and attentive and he had a full bar. The waitress was pleasant when delivering the food that came out quickly. Overall it was as expected for a place of this caliber. Growlers at the Gaylord Pacific Resort in Chula Vista ended up being a very welcome find during my stay. Dining options at the resort and nearby are admittedly limited, so I was genuinely thankful for this lively watering hole when the other choices were not really calling to me. I ordered a burger and it was delicious, simple, satisfying, and exactly what I wanted after a long day. The space is loud and energetic, and I felt completely dwarfed by the absolutely gigantic screens, which made it feel like dinner and a sporting event rolled into one. It is not quiet or subtle, but it is fun, filling, and a solid option when you want good food in a high energy setting. read more

What a lovely day in sunny San Diego !!! We got to check out the beautiful Gaylord hotel. We didnt get to stay, or experience the water works. Checking out the Growler sports bar was perfect. The staff was so accommodating. We got seated inside and instantly wanted to be on their beautiful patio. No problem they said! I got a burger, but requested it wrapped in lettuce it was so good. Super cheesy as well. The juice was dripping onto my tray. Everyone who had wings loved each bite. The shrimp was okay, but the fries were amazing!! Crispy and soft all at the same time. The salad was huge enough for two people. I personally didnt order it nor did I see any salads to my liking. The dressing didnt seem appetizing. My one complaint would have to be the ranch. It was plain and had no flavor. Im a huge ranch fan it had a lemon taste to it. Sort of like a lemon mayo texture. Bring in a ranch like wing stop and this place would be untouchable. read more

Made reservations for my friend's birthday at 7pm on a Friday evening. It was crowded and there was line of walk-ins. We got in line at 6:53 and got to the front at 7. We were told to wait in an area with chairs against the wall. People who walked in got seated and we were still waiting 20 minutes later. When my friend went to talk to the hostess, she was told that people were being seated in order. WTH!?! Why would anyone make reservations then if you were going to be seated in order of the walk-in line anyway!?! There really should be TWO lines - one for those with reservations, and one for walk-ins. Other than that severely unprofessional service at the front, the rest of the night went well. We were surprised that every dish was amazing (for a sports bar). Think elevated bar/game day food. Our server Nancy was excellent and we loved her Padres outfit! She made sure to keep us happy and the different courses arrived at the perfect times during our meal. We ordered appetizers that were off-menu: sweet and spicy jalapeño wings and roasted brussel sprouts with bacon. These were a hit! We watched the Padre game on the gigantic screen and the energy was wild! It is such a fun place to hang out with friends and celebrate a birthday! Will definitely be going back as the Gaylord Resort itself is a beautiful place to enjoy a night out. read more

I rented out Growlers for my client during their annual sales meeting and they were super happy. Management (Nate big thank you for going out of your way to ensure success) and staff were top notch. Bartenders all had a god vibe The venue is massive and definitely one of the property's highlights. Try the wings read more
I had a quick dinner bite. Service was very fast. We were in and out in about an hour. We were there before the rush. Plenty of screens and seats to watch any sports. I had the Waygu Burger which was delicious. Decent number of beers to choose from including some local fare. Decent for Pub Grub read more
Went on a Thursday night and the line was out the door. Overall, it took about 10 minutes to check in at the front desk and another 20 minutes for our table. Once we checked in, they had us wait against a wall to the right of the entrance. As 20 minutes passed by, a manager came up and called our name and took us to our seats. We wanted to watch the Dodgers game that night and they seated us in the corner where we couldn't see the big screen. There were about 4-5 tables available that could have accommodated us and were the same size table we were sitting at. We asked if we could sit in one of those tables instead but the manager said no. He said he could change the channel on a small TV near us. What?! My wife and I couldn't believe it. The server took our drink order and provided a kids menu for our daughter. Drinks came and he took our food order. We ordered the following: -Beef Chili Nachos (corn tortilla chips, house made chili, white cheddar cheese sauce, black beans, jalapeños, lime crema) -Cheeseburger with French Fries (kid's menu item) -Crispy Chicken Wings (with chipotle honey citrus glaze) -Strawberry Trifle (chiffon cake, strawberry compote, fresh strawberries, white chocolate whipped cream) -Banana Pudding (banana pastry cream, whipped cream, Nilla wafers, fresh banana) Everything was delicious. My wife and I loved the wings and the nachos were amazing. My daughter stopped eating her burger (and she looooves burgers ) to eat the nachos instead. Great food, but the service was just off. Could've been a 5-star experience, but because of the service and experience, had to knock off two stars. We still wonder why we couldn't sit at another table which was filled right after we sat down. Odd. read more

Came here to watch a World Cup game. Very friendly, attentive staff and service was consistent throughout the time we were there. We didn't come for a popular game so it was on the empty side. I did read a lot of negative reviews in regards to service, so, I'm assuming the bad experiences happened on busier days? I don't know. The food came out quick, hot and fresh. The carne asada nachos and shrimp basket were huge portions. Will definitely be back to watch more games on the ginormous screen! read more
Impressive sports bar. Two story seating options with outdoor patio seating as well. The menu is basic bar food of burgers, fries, and other food options you'd expect of a sports bar. The TVs are impressive and movie screen sized. I'd definitely come back. read more

Had the greatest time here watching the Mexico soccer games. The staff was so friendly and the TVs are massive. I can't wait to come back here again for the next World Cup! Special thanks to the manager Patrick for coming to our table and making our experience special. Get the Nachos! read more

Growlers reminds me of the Las Vegas sports bars with massive screens and high end decor that match the vibe. I loved the colored coordinated beer keg wall and long communal tables for larger groups or making new connections. I've made since friends this way and I love that they have this. I ordered the Beef Chili Nachos $24 and had the Mango Mystery Cocktail $18. The nachos were fresh and much thinner than the usual which is how all nachos should be. Their house made chili was absolutely delicious. I would buy a tub of this to go if I could! The Mango Mystery cocktail was also great with vodka and lemongrass shochu, lime, orange and mint with a really cool dragonfruit garnish that slowly changed the color of the drink. Service was so attentive and vibe was chill. I loved the massive screens and can't wait to come back with some friends when games are on. read more
Growlers, located inside the new Gaylord Pacific Resort, is a new spot on the west side of Chula Vista. It's a lively location if you are looking to enjoy watching your favorite team in action, with plenty of drink options, and delicious food options. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the host. She was very courteous and helpful. We were lucky to have Dominika help us when we were seated. She was very personable. Dominika was also very helpful with awesome recommendations, especially when it came to desserts. Dominika made our first visit a great one. We started with the Giant Pretzel, followed by their Southwest Chicken Salad, Chicken Wings, and their Angus Beef Cheeseburger. Everything was delicious. We finished with their Banana Pudding and Strawberry Trifle. They were both excellent. Growlers has many TVs, including the giant big screens, so will not miss a thing. Growlers also has an outdoor seating area with many TVs there, so you will not miss a beat. I have a feeling that Growlers will be a place to be during Padres games, along with the NFL season. read more
Daily happy hour (4-6pm) it's $8 on certain beers (an IPA and Pilsner) and some appetizers. There's a bunch of TV's and it's a great place to watch a sports game. It's in the Gaylord Pacific hotel and it's a classic very large nice sports bar. Cool outdoor seating and lots of space, just slightly pricey for their food options otherwise good. Located inside of the newly opened Gaylord Resort in Chula Vista. One of the three eating establishments within the resort, this is the sports one. We checked with the hostess and we got our table pretty quickly. Our server was a little slow to attend to us, but that because they have a lot of tables and not enough staff, so not her fault. Because of that, when she arrived we just ordered everything we wanted right away. We got our drinks within 5 minutes. The food did take a bit longer than we'd hope for, but when it did, it came out hot so that was good. The food quality was great! My chicken wings were good! They have them in 4-5 different various. The Angus burger was fire!!!! And my kids really liked their chicken tenders. They usually don't finish them at other places, but here they destroyed them. The TV's are HUGE!!! That was definitely cool to have. They do have a lm outdoor eating area, but it's the bay so expect wind. I think inside is better, especially if you came to watch the screens. There is no validation, so that sucks, but parking isn't that bad. For sure a cool Sports Bar for Chula Vista. I think I will be coming back with a group of friends... if I find any. read more
