First off, you can validate the first two hours of your parking, and there's plenty of it in the parking structure. It's a short walk to the sports bar. You check in right at the entrance and they ask you if you'd like a table, or sit at the bar. When walking in your jaw sort of drops when you see how large the TV screens are the NHL playoffs were on and it was so thrilling to watch on such a large screen! There's a pretty decent size menu and a nice amount of beers on draft. The food was a little pricey, but the quality was really good, and you have to keep in mind. You're at a resort. I ordered a craft beer from Chula Vista Brewery, it was nice and cold, light and refreshing. Also ordered the carne asada fries which were very good. Got curious with the newly opened Gaylord Resort. We went on Black Friday noon time, Growlers is the only restaurant opened on that day. Let's start with ambiance. They do have a giant TV monitor for different sports. This place is good for family, friends or even couples. Customer service is awesome. Everybody is friendly! They keep on checking on us. The food? It's American menu. Love the food! I ordered the cheese hotdog minus the chili (i dont eat chili). Im satisfied with it, cuz they toasted the bun. We shared their huge $26 angus beef burger which included a side of battered fries. Made reservations for my friend's birthday at 7pm on a Friday evening. It was crowded and there was line of walk-ins. We got in line at 6:53 and got to the front at 7. We were told to wait in an area with chairs against the wall. People who walked in got seated and we were still waiting 20 minutes later. When my friend went to talk to the hostess, she was told that people were being seated in order. WTH!?! Why would anyone make reservations then if you were going to be seated in order of the walk-in line anyway!?! There really should be TWO lines - one for those with reservations, and one for walk-ins. Other than that severely unprofessional service at the front, the rest of the night went well. We were surprised that every dish was amazing (for a sports bar). Think elevated bar/game day food. Our server Nancy was excellent and we loved her Padres outfit! She made sure to keep us happy and the different courses arrived at the perfect times during our meal. We ordered appetizers that were off-menu: sweet and spicy jalapeño wings and roasted brussel sprouts with bacon. These were a hit! We watched the Padre game on the gigantic screen and the energy was wild! It is such a fun place to hang out with friends and celebrate a birthday! Went on a Thursday night and the line was out the door. Overall, it took about 10 minutes to check in at the front desk and another 20 minutes for our table. Once we checked in, they had us wait against a wall to the right of the entrance. As 20 minutes passed by, a manager came up and called our name and took us to our seats. We wanted to watch the Dodgers game that night and they seated us in the corner where we couldn't see the big screen. There were about 4-5 tables available that could have accommodated us and were the same size table we were sitting at. We asked if we could sit in one of those tables instead but the manager said no. He said he could change the channel on a small TV near us. What?! My wife and I couldn't believe it. The server took our drink order and provided a kids menu for our daughter. Drinks came and he took our food order. We ordered the following: -Beef Chili Nachos (corn tortilla chips, house made chili, white cheddar cheese sauce, black beans, jalapeños, lime crema) -Cheeseburger with French Fries (kid's menu item) -Crispy Chicken Wings (with chipotle honey citrus glaze) -Strawberry Trifle (chiffon cake, strawberry compote, fresh strawberries, white chocolate whipped cream) -Banana Pudding (banana pastry cream, whipped cream, Nilla wafers, fresh banana) Everything was delicious. The chicken tenders were probably the weakest part of the meal. They would definitely not be my go to food. The fries were pretty good. They could be fried at maybe a higher temperature to get a littler crispier on the outside. The Caesar salad was pretty solid. I appreciate the Parmesan being freshly grated. Many restaurants don't do that and it makes a big different in the quality of the salad. The dressing was pretty good. And the romaine was nice and crisp. Growlers reminds me of the Las Vegas sports bars with massive screens and high end decor that match the vibe. I loved the colored coordinated beer keg wall and long communal tables for larger groups or making new connections. I've made since friends this way and I love that they have this. I ordered the Beef Chili Nachos $24 and had the Mango Mystery Cocktail $18. The nachos were fresh and much thinner than the usual which is how all nachos should be. Their house made chili was absolutely delicious. I would buy a tub of this to go if I could! The Mango Mystery cocktail was also great with vodka and lemongrass shochu, lime, orange and mint with a really cool dragonfruit garnish that slowly changed the color of the drink. Dominika was also very helpful with awesome recommendations, especially when it came to desserts. Dominika made our first visit a great one. We started with the Giant Pretzel, followed by their Southwest Chicken Salad, Chicken Wings, and their Angus Beef Cheeseburger. Everything was delicious. We finished with their Banana Pudding and Strawberry Trifle. They were both excellent. Growlers has many TVs, including the giant big screens, so will not miss a thing. We checked with the hostess and we got our table pretty quickly. Our server was a little slow to attend to us, but that because they have a lot of tables and not enough staff, so not her fault. Because of that, when she arrived we just ordered everything we wanted right away. We got our drinks within 5 minutes. The food did take a bit longer than we'd hope for, but when it did, it came out hot so that was good. The food quality was great! My chicken wings were good! They have them in 4-5 different various. The Angus burger was fire!!!! And my kids really liked their chicken tenders. They usually don't finish them at other places, but here they destroyed them. The TV's are HUGE!!! That was definitely cool to have. They do have a lm outdoor eating area, but it's the bay so expect wind. I think inside is better, especially if you came to watch the screens. All items were good (which we appreciated bc they are pricey) but next time I'd request 1/2 as much sauce on everything (and I'm a sauce girl!) the salad was way over "dressed" and the Brussel sprouts were grossly over soaked. I love Brussel sprouts but we ended up picking at them bc there was so much juice. Maybe we were supposed to mix the bean sprouts in that were in top. The burger and fries were good but my son ended up ditching the buns bc they were soggy from the sauce. It was in the resort and the prices were reasonable despite the convenience! The interior was wide and spacious with a dimly lit ambience and many TVs around with different sports. I was fairly emptied, but it was a Wednesday about 6 PM. Nobody was trying to pay attention. It really cared whether or not we got a drink or not so he got that one drink and basically told Nate the manager and he said not to really care that we didn't care for a drink and so therefore I don't really care to go back or to even recommend a space to anybody.
