Well-rounded service, delicious food, wide range of wines, and American Italian ambiance. The space and patronage has a tame west village feel. Osteria 106 has a rare wide selection of wines. I don't come across Super Tuscans so often! Order: * Complementary bread (5/5) -- incredible. Oil dip featured a seasoned crumbly cheese bathed in olive oil. * super tuscan (5/5) * Artichoke fritter (5/5) -- I've never tried fried artichoke but this Osteria was a great spot to try. (The bowl is also edible! It's some deeply cooked cheese structure) * gnocchi (4/5) -- tasty but a tad mushy. * Eggplant rigatoni (4.5/5). Delicious. Would get again.

We started the meal with appetizers -- the meatballs and fried artichokes. Both were super tasty! And, I didn't realize at first that the "bowl" the artichokes were served in was also editable -- I think maybe it was parmesan shaped into a bowl shape and baked! What an added surprise. You'll definitely want to tear into that bowl along with the yummy artichokes. As for mains, among the guests with me, we ordered the Seafood Pasta (Paccheri Alla Pescatora), the Veal Piccata, and Cavatelli with Sausage Ragu. And like the apps, these were all yummy! As for atmosphere, this restaurant is super small and perfect for a date night. But just be warned that it can be noisy (tall ceilings I guess make for poor acoustics). So your voice may be horse by the time you leave the place... but the food and overall experience makes up for the noise!

The crust is always "just right"- crispy, fresh, and consistently delicious. Beyond the food, I am so happy to note that the evening ambiance has evolved beautifully. The music is no longer as loud as it once was; it's now at a volume that allows for great conversation while still maintaining a vibrant energy. What really makes Fumo shine is the service and the attention to detail. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the service is nothing short of exceptional every single time. I also have to mention the personal touches that add so much character to the space - the real candles in crystal-like holders create a warm, elegant atmosphere that does not go unrecognized. The entire restaurant is always very clean and welcoming. If I had one small "wish list" item, it would be to see some tap beers added to the menu - I would absolutely love to enjoy a Peroni on draft with my meal! Thank you, Fumo, for years of wonderful meals and for being such a reliable and delicious place to enjoy some brick oven pizza.

My daughter ordered a lemon drop and OMG--it was so good. I had a Pinot Grigio and was happy they still had happy hour going. The kids had iced tea, and the staff was kind enough to make a raspberry lemonade for them, which they loved. I also really appreciate when restaurants notice kids and automatically bring cups with covers--small detail, but it makes a difference. For food, I ordered the rotativo bolognese--WOW. So much meat and packed with flavor. My mom had the burger and especially loved the truffle fries. The kids got spicy calamari with sauce (I don't usually like seafood, but it honestly looked amazing). The other adults had chicken penne alla vodka and chicken parm with penne, both enjoyed. The kids also ordered sausage and pepperoni pizza, and we accidentally ended up with a margarita pizza too--no complaints there! Service was elite--attentive, friendly, and made the birthday feel special. The place itself is nice and cozy, perfect for date night or family outings. We ended with cheesecake for the birthday girl, which was the perfect touch. I know they have other locations, and we'll definitely be checking those out too.

Similar to their sister restaurant, Sottocasa, Pastitalia focuses on high quality ingredients and well-balanced flavors for delightfully satisfying meals. I highly recommend the mafalde. The Pasta con cozze e gamberi is delicious as well. The kids love the 4 formaggi and the pesto. You really can't go wrong with any of the sauces or pastas! The seating inside is quite sparse, so I recommend getting it to go or planning to push tables together in the back or front patios if you have a large group.

The quality of the different noodles are excellent and worth a visit for that alone. Staff are very friendly and are quick to prepare meals. We got a norma pasta (eggplant, burrata, and noodles in a tomato sauce with Parmesan) as well as a funghi e tartufo (creamy truffle mushrooms). For the norma, we got caserecce noodles (think of them like more spiralized and thick macaroni noodles). This pasta was light, delicate, and had a great balance of sweetness along with the tartness of the tomato sauce and the nuttiness/umami of the parents on top. Excellent pasta, but I would say the eggplant part was just ok. It is really small pieces of eggplant that are hard to taste. My personal favorite was the second pasta. We got the creamy truffle mushroom pasta with linguine. Let me say that this was the best linguine texture you will have. The fresh noodles have such a good bite to them and are cooked just a little less than al dente which is a perfect texture. The sauce is bold, rich, and topped with Parmesan. All the ingredients together make an excellent umami explosion that may be too rich for some people, but it was just enough for me. I would say there are a few reason I can't give this spot 5 stars. First, everything is self serve and yet the restaurant still asks for tips going up to 25% on the point of sales system. I would be happy to give a good tip if I felt there was actually customer service involved. But you have to buy food at the counter, find a table after, get your own water, clean your own tables, and take your bowls/plates/utensils to the counter as well. Additionally, any extra condiments or other items you want also have to be retrieved yourself. Also it feels pretty cheap to use small plastic disposable cups for water instead of some type of glass. With all of that, it's hard to justify tipping on top of doing all of that yourself. Second, I feel like they could give more bread with the meal. Currently, they give 2 small pieces of bread approximately 1" x 2". It would be really nice if they could give a good chunk of an actual loaf with the meal. And last, the price does not make up for what you are getting. 2 vegetarian pastas for $50 and still leaving slightly hungry isn't great. The portions could be a little bigger, and they should adjust prices to be more in line with the quality of the service. Many pasta spots downtown that are similar concept (pay at front, sit down and get your own stuff) are $10-15 for plain/vegetarian pastas.

I live in the area and have walked by this place soooooo many times. It's been on my growing list…read moreof places to try. It's also highly rated so I was curious if it really lived up to the ratings. I find restaurant ratings on customer provided scores to be usually extra-high. The service overall was good; I sat at the bar and the bartender provided new glasses for each of the bottled beers I got, even when I was about to re-use a glass for the second drink. The food took awhile to come out but I realized they actually waited to fire up my entree (pasta) after my appetizer (focaccia with cheese meat veggies i.e. almost or basically pizza, except no tomato sauce, but tomatoes instead). It took awhile to cook up the entree even though it was just gnocchi with a cream sauce (pancetta and mushrooms). But this wait was definitely for a good reason. They must have low to medium-heat cooked the hell out of the pancetta. The cured taste was embedded in the cream sauce; a single complex flavor. The texture of the slippery soft but firm mushroom with its inherently light flavor was a great complement to the gnocchi which had a gummy inside and the pancetta which was rich and salty but not too salty. Perfect when you make a bite with all three and the cream sauce. The gnocchi was a bit gummy for me though, it kept getting plastered to my teeth after each bite. The focaccia was cooked well, ending up crispy with a chew in a bite, and it was definitely handmade and fresh tasting light and feeling airy. The place and its atmosphere was very quiet since I went about 45 minutes before close. It's a small restaurant with decent decor of a tiled bar top with wooden stools. It reminded me of Mamma Mia the movie, Italy, and Greece. I would definitely go back. You don't find the care taken to cook food in so many places. If I had to give it a numeral rating out of 5 I would give it a 4.35, but being constrained by stars I have to give it 5 stars; it doesn't deserve 4 stars only which I reserve for solidly good restaurants. Arco Cafe is more like very good, looking at the peak towards excellent.
