Food 10/10 the pasta and baked clams are my fav so good! Also the raspberry lemon drop must try! Ambiance is calm also has a outdoor area and service was good as well
Service was decent and ambiance was really nice. Great date night spot, but the food was disgusting. I'm not sure how this place has such high ratings. The branzino smelled spoil so I didn't eat it and the spicy calamari had a burnt after taste. I definitely wouldn't recommend. There are better Italian restaurants in the area like Felice Columbus, la pecora, and osteria.
Can't go wrong with their espresso martini with baileys. I love their penne vodka I swapped the penne for spaghetti. Their cheese is so good to add on the pasta. My boyfriend got the burger and he really enjoyed it. I tried some of his fries and was tempted to order myself some. Service was great and inside was very cute. New spot that I'll return to.
Delicious pastas! I do wish the pasta was homemade, however, all of our dishes were perfectly al dente and the sauces were amazing! We tried the spaghetti vongole, penne vodka, and the penne funghi. The funghi one was my favorite! It had lots of mushrooms and plenty of sauce. I wish the vodka penne had more sauce. I liked the basil in the vodka penne though. I wasn't that impressed with the spaghetti vongole... it had a lot of garlic which was nice... I typically do not love a spaghetti noodle shape. They bring bread to start which was okay- it did the job. We also ordered a kale caesar to start which was tasty. I liked the focaccia croutons. Portions are very large! I also love their 12$ pasta deal monday and sundays- pretty hard to beat in NYC. The restaurant itself is rather loud though. Perhaps not the best place for a conversation. Overall, I will definitely be returning to Fumo!
Service. MIGUEL greets and remembers us giving us each a pound. We were immediately served bread with the fresh olive oil already on the table. Other server poured water, grated cheese and grated fresh pepper without us asking. Penne Vodka with meatballs was a tad bit dry, but all if it was very tasty. The vibe is chill nonetheless elegant.
ANOTHER EXCELLENT chain brunch restaurant in the city. As I've ventured more and more on the UWS of late, I've noticed how there seems to be many more brunch restaurants that are part of chains then I realized...AND they serve dang good food! I had been eyeing Fumo's menu for quite a while, so when I set up a catch up brunch with some friends, I was really looking forward to seeing how good it actually was. We met up on an ordinary winter Saturday for a 12pm reservation and, when we arrived, there were plenty of tables and seats. However, by around 1-1:30, this pretty sizable, nicely decorated restaurant was jammed packed to the gills. The restaurant serves mostly Italian food (e.g. personal pizza pies, pastas), but they also serve your typical brunch items (e.g. steak and eggs, eggs benedict, French toast, brunch burger) on Saturdays as well. We ended up ordering a Rigatoni Bolognese for our kids to share, while my wife got the steak and eggs and I went with the Roni Pizza. Plain and simple, ALL OF IT was absolutely delicious. The Rigatoni Bolognese was cooked perfectly with lots of beef and meat sauce mixed into the rigatoni. My wife's steak and eggs were as you would expect steak and eggs to be with the steak being pretty tender. As for my Roni Pizza, I was absolutely shocked at how amazingly good it was. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought it was served at a highly rated artisan pizzeria! The pizza had tons of delicious roni cups, chunks of ground sausage and hot cherry peppers scattered. Some of the best pizza I've had in a long, long time. The service was solid throughout as our waiters and busboys were on top of things with removing empty plates and refilling our friends' bottomless mimosa glasses. I'm by no means a brunch connoisseur, but the food and experience here was as good as it got for me and I would absolutely come back for brunch.
Really enjoyed my pasta dish here (I ordered the rigatoni salsiccia)! And they give you free bread and olive oil before your food comes. The vibes are great! The lighting is a dimmed for dinner but it's not too dark and the music they play is catchy but not too loud so you can still have a conversation with your friends. Our server was very friendly.
Again, after some years we came to a family birthday celebration and we had a great experience. Food: Fried Calamary as appetizer. Chicken Milanese, Vegan Burger, Spaghetti Carbonara, Penne with Funghi, Shrimp Francese. Bottle of Prosecco. Tiramisu. Everyone loved their food. Service by Sergio is excellent. We had a private area for our festivity.
I've been to other locations and i must say this one is by far my favorite when, when it comes to service and attentiveness. We walked in on a Monday after 6:30pm and it was busy but we were seated right away thankfully. Started off with a chilled glass of prosecco and they brought over some bread which is always great . For the main entree we did the baked ziti , and i will say this place has one of the best in nyc that i have had. The sauce is perfect not to acidic and they perfect amount of cheese and pasta ratio. Plus you'll definitely have leftovers for the next day. Also orders the buffalo pizza with light blue cheese and it was perfect. All in all this is a great location, great service, amazing food and the ambiance is modern and chic. Cant wait to come back and maybe do happy hour.

Tastes exactly like how you would expect good bolognese to taste like!) - Margherita pizza: 9/10 (decent margherita pizza. Solid choice when you're craving solid wood-fired pizza.) Service was good and ambiance was very casual. I'll definitely be back if I'm craving good Italian when I'm near Columbia!

Came here to celebrate my daughter's birthday with a party of 7 (3 kids), and it was such a great experience from start to finish. My daughter ordered a lemon drop and OMG--it was so good. I had a Pinot Grigio and was happy they still had happy hour going. The kids had iced tea, and the staff was kind enough to make a raspberry lemonade for them, which they loved. I also really appreciate when restaurants notice kids and automatically bring cups with covers--small detail, but it makes a difference. For food, I ordered the rotativo bolognese--WOW. So much meat and packed with flavor. My mom had the burger and especially loved the truffle fries. The kids got spicy calamari with sauce (I don't usually like seafood, but it honestly looked amazing). The other adults had chicken penne alla vodka and chicken parm with penne, both enjoyed. The kids also ordered sausage and pepperoni pizza, and we accidentally ended up with a margarita pizza too--no complaints there! Service was elite--attentive, friendly, and made the birthday feel special. The place itself is nice and cozy, perfect for date night or family outings. We ended with cheesecake for the birthday girl, which was the perfect touch. I know they have other locations, and we'll definitely be checking those out too. read more
Came for a late dinner on a Friday, so it was very convenient that they don't close until 10:30pm. The server quickly took our drink order and brought out some bread. We got the burrata caprese as well. The burrata was delicious, but there was way too much arugula. For the entree, I had the penne vodka. Nothing crazy, but was a very good version of the dish. The sauce was creamy and rich, and the portion size was nice. I even had some to take home. We did not have a reservation and although there was no outside seating available, we were able to geta table inside. Do note- we came around 9:30pm and I suspect it would be harder to walk up earlier on a Friday night. The atmosphere was that of a nice Italian restaurant, and the wait staff was friendly. A great option if you're in the area. read more

This was a bit of a mixed bag. I was seated immediately even on a Friday night, which was nice. The complimentary bread provided was great - plenty of flavor and nice airy texture. The eggplant parmigiana was a miss - the dish had a bitter note throughout that could have either been from the garlic burning or an unlucky bitter eggplant. The sauce was otherwise perfectly fine, and came with a healthy layer of cheese. The penne funghi was good - pasta had a nice bite to it, and the sauce was creamy and savory without being too rich and overwhelming. Prices are about typical for an uptown Italian spot with the meal coming out to $51 with tax and tip, with generous portions. read more

Fumo is delicious!! They have an extensive menu of pizzas, pastas, and burgers, INCLUDING vegan options!! I went to another Fumo location recently so I wanted to try something else on the menu. I had the vegan pizza and I was pleasantly surprised!! I thought the Daiya cheese would make it taste basic, but the cook on the pizza was really enjoyable and the cashew pesto is DELICIOUS. Really great portion and super tasty I also highly recommend the cocktail "Lucy." The gin, pineapple, and aperol combo is so delicious!! They are a little pricey ($14), but worth it once in a while. The service was super friendly and quick! Maybe within 15 minutes of being seated, the food was already being served. Also we were able to be seated immediately, which was nice on a Saturday night! The place is dimly lit. It has the vibes of a fun/trendy spot or great for a date night. I really enjoyed it and look forward to returning! read more

Really great pizza. Perfectly thin and crust was perfectly made. Lots of flavor and the sauce was great also. Fast service for a weekend lunch, call ahead for bigger groups. Very reasonably priced for the area. The dough seemed to be very high quality, which you could clearly taste in the bites!! read more
We went for an early dinner last night because we didn't have time for lunch. We didn't have reservations but we were seated right, there was a good crowd. Great atmosphere and ambience, and the fragrance coming from the kitchen had my stomach growling. We started off with the Fumo spritzer, yummy concoction with wine, grapefruit juice and other yummy stuff. Appetizers we had the baked clams, and truffle fries, both very delicious. I had the spaghetti Carbonara, so so good! My cousin had the pasta bolognese and my sister had the Branzino which were both out of this world. Since we arrive early, the pasta was $14. Instead of $23., we also paid cash so we got it even cheaper. Definitely going back because the food was awesome, beautiful neighborhood, the wait staff were wonderful, very friendly and professional. We found a great parking spot, and shared the parking spot with a veteran on our way out because he was going to park too close to the pump. read more

But let me tell you best thing I ever did was walk in this restaurant , I didn't get to have the full experience because I was seated outside that's how packed it was inside but I didn't mind there was a cute little candle on every table made up for it lol until it got a little chilly but it was okay. The waiting time was not long for a party of 2 And our server Steve if I'm not mistaken was very nice and fun We started off with sparkling water and then came out the bread it wasn't good but it wasn't bad we didn't get butter or anything ; which made it plain lol but then we got our dinner : I decided to order the penne vodka with breaded chicken but you have the option to put any type of protein you'd like it was very good and tasty with great flavors , My partner got the steak and fries and he loved it the truffle fries to be exact but you could get regular (your preference). They have a good amount of dessert options I got the panna Cotta which was so good by the way if you like creamy gelato type of deserts I Loved it , I will definitely have it again. My partner had the warm brownie with vanilla ice cream also comes with strawberries it was really good and perfect temperature with ice cream and the hot brownie. I will be definitely be coming back again for sure to try different dishes and that panna cotta one more time! read more

This is the second location I've tried and it was just as good as the first one in Harlem. I've been a couple of times already, we always enjoy the food, service and atmosphere! Fumo is one of those places you don't have to worry about. Its a place you run to with your group of friends & just know it's gonna be an all around satisfying time. Thank you Fumo !! read more

I think I might have ordered the wrong thing, but oh well. Came here on a weekday night with a reservation and even though I was 40 minutes late they still had a table for me and didn't charge me extra which was very nice of them. The place was packed and was quite loud to be honest, so be prepared to scream while you talk. - Baked Ziti - Honestly not bad, I really appreciate how much tomatoes they put in this dish as well as the cheese. I used the complimentary bread soak up all the leftover tomato "juice". Definitely miles ahead of the carbonara. - Complimentary Bread - After I had Emilio Ballato's foccacia complimentary bread, nothing else could beat that, so that's kind of my golden standard here. The bread was a bit old, I wish it was served hot but I'm glad they had it regardless to soak up the sauces from various pastas. - Spaghetti Carbonara - The reason why I wanted to try this place out was because online they said that the carbonara was one of the best in the city. It was very far from good to be honest, Olio E Piu is miles ahead. The spaghetti pasta didn't really go with the carbonara and it honestly wasn't "oily" enough. Would not order this dish. Overall, was not impressed with Fumo to be honest. Maybe I ordered poorly and should've ordered pizza instead but yeah, kind of disappointing. read more

Wow! Just Wow! It was my first time here, my daughter has been asking me to eat there with her for about a week. I finally made my way there this morning for breakfast. I had the French toast, a side of medium well done eggs and bacon. I also had two glasses of orange juice. They brought out a basket of bread which I ate with olive oil. I was really impressed. The service was as good as the food. I have worked in the restaurant business for about 20 years. Service like this was phenomenal. The waiter had support from the busser and I assume manager. The food was mouthwatering. I know it was only breakfast but it says a lot since I eat out a lot. The ambience was great, also the music. I felt very welcomed when I walked in. Everyone was friendly. My total bill was $35 plus 20% tip of course. I will be back to try lunch and dinner. This place is a winner read more

I went here with my friend on a Monday, where they offer their $12 pastas. We went in the evening, so it was nice and dim. The place was lit up with candles that they kept at the tables which gave date night. For appetizers, we ordered the calamari and oysters. They were good, but nothing special. For the pastas, I got a rigatoni bolognese, while my friend got the rigatoni al vodka. They were both delicious and freshly made pasta. It didn't necessarily WOW me, but I'd def recommend to anyone who have a craving for pasta during the week. The service was nice and speedy as well. read more
Wow I'm blown away. I had the fried mozzarella appetizer from here and it was FANTASTIC! The best thing I've eaten recently for sure. It came with about five square pieces. It was so well seasoned, crispy, not greasy and not too heavily breaded. The cheese pull was perfect. Each square was adequately stuffed but not oozing. This was a more elevated experience than eating regular mozzarella sticks and not just because of the different name. I had these with a side of toasted Italian bread and it was heavenly. Will definitely be ordering this again. read more

The food was delicious, the prices were reasonable, and the location is great. We had a reservation and got there a little late and still had to wait around 10 mins for a table, I would definitely get a reservation ahead of time if planning to visit this restaurant because it gets very busy around dinner. The service was quick and the interior was nicely decorated with plants and also an indoor heater to keep us all warm. The vibe is a little fancier and sleek. I got the baked ziti and enjoyed how cheesy it was. My one complaint is it was actually baked penne not the ziti pasta shape. My friends got the rigatoni bolognese (one swapped the rigatoni out for penne) and enjoyed it with extra parmesan. The food came out pretty hot and the wait wasn't too long. We were given bread baskets for starters with olive oil and salt. Overall: would definitely come back again for affordable, great, cheesy pasta. Great vibes in here and near many other places. read more
This is my second time at Fumo however I visited their other location in Harlem where I usually would get their pizzas. This was my first time at the upper west side location. The service was just as Great. Food was delicious. Make sure to tell them exactly how you would like your dish cooked. The prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is great for a celebration or something more intimate the cocktails and mocktails are also very refreshing I would come back for a happy hour. I got to try the salmon and chicken Cesar salad. Both were delicious. read more
