I have lived down the street from Tremont for the past 5 years, but it wasn't until a couple of months ago, that I decided to give them a try. Very large and delicious burger and tots. It was also inexpensive for what I got. They also serve full dinners, but only Sunday through Tuesday I think. The dinners include comfort classics such as Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes, Chicken, etc... A good safe place to take the family, or even a first date. An old fashioned diner like this is always a welcome relief from the chain restaurants that tend to overrun RB. read more

I had eggs and potatoes. They were tasty. Our waitperson was friendly and made us feel welcome. I really needed wi-fi to get some emails out before getting back on the freeway. We were fortunate enough to find this place after 8 hours on the road. The Prime Rib was the special and our choice it was awesome, save room for pie. The service is great so it was a no brainer where to go for breakfast the next day before we headed out. read more

This is a great place right in downtown Red Bluff. It has great breakfasts overall, and great service. Most notably, an a real stand-out issue, it has just about the best pancakes I have ever had at a restaurant (there are very few worthy competitors in my experience). They are truly well-made, delicious, light, not too big, and cooked perfectly. I highly recommend this place if stopping in, or visiting, Red Bluff. read more

I had my bridal shower recently in the banquet room at Tremont and I couldn't be any more pleased. Linda was so accommodating with anything I wanted, and even let me change my menu choices with no problem. They were so easy going and let me decorate the room however I wanted, and even let us come in the night before so it would be done. Beatrice waited on the entire group with drinks and special requests and had such a pleasant attitude the entire time. Yummy! All 4 of us were happily pleased with this choice as our stopping place! Waitresses were very friendly and helpful! Food was cafe delicious. Ice cream to go topped it all off. This is a downtown Red Bluff cafe, mainly patronized by locals. I got steak and eggs, which were perfectly done. "Gary" was the server, and he is very good at what he does. This cafe is the second building on this site. It has plate glass windows of exceptional size, and a parking area is in back. Five stars for the pie and cake alone! I ate breakfast there one morning and it was delicious in its own right (vegetarian breakfast burrito with nicely spiced potatoes, eggs, and cheese). I figured if I was going to blow my diet, I'd go all the way and have a slice of the butterscotch pie in the case. The butterscotch filling was exactly as it should be, very creamy, no lumps, and totally satisfying. It was topped off with a mound of homemade whipped topping and combined, made for the most amazing pie of my life. I went back the next morning and ordered a slice of carrot cake, which was perfectly spiced, moist and had just the right amount of creamy frosting. I should also mention that portions are extremely generous and the employees are very nice. It's worth the few minutes it takes to get downtown from I-5. read more

I wanted to take my boyfriend somewhere local while home for Thanksgiving. First we got watered down coffee. Then we waited over 30 minutes after ordering while watching other dinners who had arrived later than us indulge in their food. While we waited a film developed on my coffee like the cup was still soapy. It tasted that way too. As we walked out leaving my still-full-of-soap coffee I told the waitress to cancel our order. Where do we start... we found ourselves in Red Bluff the other morning and after running a few errands we were on the lookout for a good breakfast. Once again we turned to yelp and sadly, it led us wrong. This place had such good reviews that we couldn't help but stop. The restaurant was very busy, there was a large private group in the back when we sat down. We sat down and after about 10 minutes a frazzled, but friendly waitress ran by dropping off menus and apologizing that she was trying to get the big group closed out and would be back to take our orders. Another 10 minutes later, you saw this poor woman jump from table to table trying to grab orders (though she didn't go in order because she served 2 tables before us that arrived after us) before finally returning to us. At this point I was pretty irritated but kept telling myself that it WAS busy, she IS friendly and the food looked really good. Eventually she made it around to our table and took our orders. In the end, the food was nothing to write home about, skip this place and just drive to a Dennys, you'll get the same sub par food, but at least at a much faster pace. To anyone from the restaurant that might actually read these reviews: If you are busy, it's understandable; but at least grab drink orders or ask if your guests would like water before leaving them to sit and wait, parched, and hungry for over 25 minutes because a pissed off guest is one thing, but an uncaffeinated pissed off guest is something you don't want to experience. read more

In town to pick up our kids from Grandma and Grandpa and wanted to eat something other than fast food. Got a burger and it was good. Tater tots were a little over done. Daughter had a side salad and enjoyed it. The best part was the ice cream. I ordered one scoop in a cup and it was HUGE and very delicious. So food was average but ice cream was extraordinary. Good atmosphere, friendly service, if a little understaffed at the moment. I think they forgot to make my husband's burrito as the other 3 meals came out 8 minutes before his... But the burgers were delicious (Roundup), as was the special crispy Parmesan chicken sandwich. Burrito was OK. Good fries and onion rings, and of course the ice cream was great. The floor manager I can't remember his name , was awesome. The waitress was obviously rude and inexperienced it seemed we were a bother for her... the food is so-so, depending on the day very inconsistant quality.Service was slow... "Chumley" was busing the tables..lol. If your in a mood to be critical this will be a fullfilling experience for you. They do offer a fresh plentiful salad bar. Between San Diego and Seattle this cafe had the best service food. The portion were just right. The kitchen sink was delicious!

Went there with a group for breakfast and the service was subpar. In a restaurant that had enough servers and wasn't terribly busy (literally 5 tables between 2 waitresses), we waited way too long for the standard things like coffee refills and finally ended up getting up and serving ourselves after waiting an exorbitant amount of time while she stood and casually chatted at length with a table of obvious regulars. When we finished the meal we sat for a good 10+ minutes waiting for the server to come back before we finally got up and got our own to-go boxes for leftovers, then went up to the register to get our check. We are a group of friendly, customer service minded professionals and there was no smiling or prompt/friendly service. read more

I was definitely nervous because I had to work in an hour but I ended up being suprised when the food came out shortly....even though their was a party of 20 that had taken their order before us. This is always a top "go to" place for a hearty breakfast but make sure you're hungry when you go. Their portions are huge and the food always tastes amazing. The staff is beyond friendly, I've never had a bad experience at the Tremont. I only wish they were open longer hours like they used to be but honestly if that's the only downfall I'll take it.
