He was definitely more personable than the rest of the people I got quotes from and took the time to answer all my questions. We ended up going with him since he seemed trustworthy and was mid-range priced--not the cheapest but not the most expensive. Everything seemed to be going well until 2 days after starting the job he called us to ask for more money since there was more on the roof than he anticipated--even though he actually went out for an in person quote and probably should have been more thorough. At that point with the job 2/3 done, what are we supposed to say? No? After agreeing to the increased charge, he finished Friday as promised and sent pictures prior to getting paid. At this point I would have still felt like he deserved 5 stars because there was a lot of clean up and the pictures looked really great compared to how it was before. Unfortunately, shortly after mud water was backing up into the sinks and when they went to go check the cap was off the main sewer line with leaves all blown in. We contacted Jamie the following Monday who, of course, stated that it wasn't his fault. To his credit he offered to come take a look at it but then stopped responding. We had to get a plumber out to fix it who said the cap came off somehow and leaves/dirt was blown into it. Kind of suspicious since he was the last one to do anything around that area. He finally called us back on Wednesday and stated that even if it's not his fault he would pay for half of it. I thought that was reasonable but then 4 days later he decided that he's not paying since it's not his fault. This whole thing has been really annoying to deal with.

Kelsey (the owner) arrived on time and was very knowledgeable and polite. Several weeks later I was ready to proceed with the work. Out of five estimates, Bay Area Tree Service was the lowest price. I called on a Monday and Kelsey and crew scheduled me for Wednesday afternoon. The four man crew showed up mid afternoon and immediately got to work. I was amazed at not only the fine work, but their speed and how well they worked together. Each man had a job and did it well. The crew was sensitive to my roof and my neighbor's property as well. I remained outside the entire time and not a single limb fell in the wrong place! The crew was very diligent in cleaning up my yard afterwards as well. They picked up all big limbs and then raked up leaves and smaller debris, in addition to blowing off the roof with a leaf blower.
