This is a great public course. The staff were all friendly. The food was good. The course was…read morein good shape. Pete Dye design. Located right off the PA turnpike. Pricing was pretty fair. Definitely better on the weekdays. I'm slightly torn on exactly how to raid it because I love the fact that this is about the course and I love the fact that it's under $100 to Play. At the exact same time, this course would be significantly better with minor upgrades and a simple refresh. But I really don't want that done at the expense of the accessibility and affordability... Really wonderful bones... nice views... great hole designs... built on land that it was a former iron mine, which gives it a unique vibe. And it feels slightly whiny to say it... But I was just hoping for it to be just a LITTLE bit "nicer" ... like whatever scale you rate golf courses on... I can't even put my finger on it... But I was hoping for it to be just one little Tic higher than what it presented as. Worth playing. Comparing it to other public courses, it's definitely one of the better ones in the state.

I debated giving this a 3 star because the course is in good shape. Green were rolling nice and…read morefairways/tee boxes were nice. Unfortunately our round was 5 hours and 15 minutes on a Saturday. We waited on every tee box with the group in front of us. Embarrassingly overbooked by the course. Great course if you have absolutely nothing else to do. Bring plenty of beer for your 5 hour round.

Very friendly to Beginners like myself (I don't lose nearly as many balls for mis-hits here). Wide open fairways and the greens are well above-average when not being aerated. I Golf here 2-3 times a month. Great Value too...There packages and pricing are super-fair.

Over the last two years, I've truly evolved into a golfer, hitting the course almost every day…read more Golf has been a part of my life for a long time; back in my childhood, I used to mow people's lawns for money just to buy golf clubs at the Goodwill in my hometown. I grew up watching legends like Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus on TV with my grandpop. Having already worked with two different instructors as an adult, I was really just looking for a refresher to get back on track. I decided to try Dolphin Highlands Golf Course. Unfortunately, I missed my first appointment, but the staff was great about it and gave me some free range balls to make up for it. However, the environment was a bit distracting--it was hard to understand how people focus there with planes from the Middletown Airport flying overhead the entire time. When I finally made it to my second lesson, I met my coach 1-on-1. Tim is highly knowledgeable, clearly knows his stuff, and has been in the game for a long time. That said, during our session, he focused heavily on how PGA legends hit the ball, constantly referencing players like Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, and Arnold Palmer. Personally, I prefer a coach who assesses my natural swing and makes minor adjustments from there, rather than trying to completely restructure my form to copy someone else. After all, I am unique--complete with a beautiful face and bronze skin! I believe in playing my own way. Honestly, people should try hitting the way I do, because I can drive the ball incredibly far, especially for an amateur. While I still recommend him as a coach because of his expertise, he just wasn't the right fit for my personal goals. Everyone is different, and that's the beauty of being human; we all have the freedom to grow and make our own choices here in the US. I hope this review helps you decide if Dolphin Highlands is the right spot for you!

The staff is sweet and upbeat and even though it's counter service, the staff checked on us a few times. They have a playground so the smaller guest can play while they eat. As for the food, it's classic taste give you State Fair vibes without the sticker shock . I went with the staff recommendation of The Bang Bang Burger. Classic burger topped with cheddar, fried onion rings, and chipotle on sourdough toast. I couldn't even finish it but I had to make room for dessert. The milkshakes are dangerously good and I loved the speciality versions. Don't worry you can work the calories off with mini golf after. There was a weekend, clearly this is a local favorite rush but the staff kept the line moving and there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Sidebar it's hard to find small town gems and not worry about the atmosphere, I'm happy to report it was welcoming and the crowd was diverse. If you're in the area and need a place to stop relax and enjoy some good eats, put The Shack on the top of your list.
