We banned ourselves. After playing an ok 9 hole round we were approached by the "pro shop" kid. He asked us "which one of you told our course bounty Hunter" or whatever his bogus title is "to go F himself?" We're like, "what?" The bounty Hunter approached us twice on the course, once to ask how many holes we were playing bc we started late and if we saw a blue cell phone. We told the power hungry boy that we wanted the bounty Hunter to come and confront us bc we were wrongfully accused and he said we were banned from ever coming back. After waiting 5-10 min we decided to say screw this and go inside to see where the Hunter was. The boy said he should be back soon and I said we weren't waiting and that were never coming back again. He said that the Hunter may have written down the wrong cart number but now I say they CAN go F themselves. Never returning. read more

This course is wonderful for new golfers or golfers just looking to practice. The staff was really friendly and helpful, and the course was in very good condition. Not a bunch of ponds and hills, but lots of little bunkers and open tree lines fairways. Carts are a little older, but they are clean and run well. The rates are very reasonable too. Even in the 90º heat, we enjoyed our 9 hole round today, and we will be back again soon. read more

Evergreen golf course is the perfect size for the not-so-great-golfer, the lazy golfer, or the golfer who likes to fool himself into thinking that he's had a healthy workout. Me? I'm all three and I love the place. Allow me to explain. Evergreen is a par-66 "Executive" course measuring out at just 4,569 yards (the average course is about 6,000 yards). Are you a hooker or a slicer? Fear not, because in lieu of rough there's just more fairway. The entire course is mowed daily, so, wherever a ball lands, it's in play. Did your drive cozy up under an oak? No problem. Most of the trees have been pruned from the ground up for at least eight feet. Did your ball land in one of the greenside sand traps, Bunky? Don't sweat it. They're so flat and hard packed, most balls can easily be putted out. Afraid of getting your ball wet? Don't worry. There's only one water hazard. It's the size of an above ground pool, and about 75 yards away from the 9th tee. If you put your ball in the water at Evergreen, it's time to seriously think about switching to shuffleboard. On Tuesdays and Thursdays it costs only $10 to play the course if you walk it. And unless you're just the laziest schmuck on Earth, there's no reason not to walk Evergreen. It's built atop one of the flattest parcels of land in the mid-Atlantic. Christ, I've seen greater elevation changes on a pool table. All that said, Evergreen is just a hoot to play, and there are plenty of opportunities to break out the big cannon, including par-four holes measuring 276, 292, 393, 271, 282 and 305 yards; plus a honking 500-yard par-five. I've played at a lot of courses over the years, but both the lowlight and highlight of my game have occurred here at Evergreen. My worst round of golf ever was shot here. It was a 102 (that's 36 over par). I've never had a hole-in-one, but last year during a tournament at Evergreen, I did drive the ball 306 yards and followed up with a four-foot putt to score an eagle on the 17th hole, a 305-yard par four. The next day, my accomplishment was documented in the sports section of the Lancaster Journal. They misspelled my name. read more

Great course! only $14.50 to play and even got a history/bio lesson from one of the locals.

The course was wide open and a perfect course to take my daughter for her first time off the driving range. It was in good condition and I would return here again when I come to visit from California. The deal was amazing and worth every penny. Thanks for your hospitality. read more

Our family loves the Pitch and Putt course. As beginners it really lets you gain some skills. So, moving to the Executive course is a natural next step, and the Executive course is right next to the Pitch and Putt course. The grounds are beautiful and there is shade. It was our group of 4's first time there playing their executive course and to be frank it will be our last, the price to ride and play 18 is great, however once you get on the course it's another story, the fairways might as well be considered the "rough" it was mowed but there was nothing but clumps of grass left on them, the greens were not well kept at all, there was more brown spots than green on them, than let's talk about the course layout, the only way you could tell the front 9 from the back 9 is due to the flag color on the greens, the tee boxes were basically on top of each other, they worried more about bag tags on your golf bag than grooming their course properly. I really wanted like this course but after this one round I will not be returning. read more

I'm not much of a golfer, but I have a friend who golfs. We did, instead of the big executive course, we did the Pitch and Putt course! 18 holes of Par 3 on each. I will be honest, I suck at golf, unless its Mini Golf, then I'm decent at it. All in all, 18 holes of good quality and short golf. And you're right there at Roots if you need to grab a bite or something on a Tuesday. read more

Both the pitch and putt course and the Exec Course give you something to think about. Clean, no clutter. Hit and go, execute well and build your confidence. The grass is mowed, no brutal high rough or severe hazard for errant shots in play. Hit it straight, get on in two and you will find the greens very fair. $8.00 for the Pitch & Putt is a great deal, and the exec course is not out of line, a decent value proposition. This would be the perfect course for a beginner if the price wasn't so high. Paying $25.75 for 18 very easy holes that are not on great shape is way much. I can pay less than that at other local courses & get a more well groomed and beautiful experience. Oh and they don't take credit cards either. I won't be going back unless I am desperate. Worst golf course I've golfed in 40 years. Many of the executive greens have patches that have died so you are putting on dirt. The men's room is the worst I have ever smelled. And to top it all off rude treatment by the guy who runs it. Too many other great places to golf in Lancaster County. Avoid this dump. read more

We took our son's friends to Evergreen Golf to play Foot Golf for his birthday. 8 kids had a great time kicking the ball down the fairway! We played 9 holes which took us a little less than 1.5 hours. The landscape and greens are beautiful - we will be going back! read more
