I no more than walk through the door, and the same clown looks at me and barks "we are shutting everything down!". I said yea, I understand that's why I'm stopping in, then asked if they are pulling everyone of the course. His response was yes, so I asked was there anyway we could get a voucher or something to come back at a later date. His response was "for what?!" And points at the no refunds for inclement weather sign on the counter. I understand the policy, but 1. there's no reason for that much of a bad attitude 2. If you're shutting down the course you should offer something especially if it's thunder and lightning, not just rain. I've played here multiple times and unfortunately will not be returning.

This place was not only perfect, it's almost made for families. First, the staff that I met there were maybe the NICEST golf course attendees that I've ever met. Went out of his way to explain every little detail of the course. Made us feel comfortable with bringing our child - it didn't feel like an inconvenience for them, more like they WELCOMED it. This meant so much to us. Second, it's a perfect place for families and beginners. No tee times needed, 12 holes (shorter round) with 10 of them being par 3s. Most people walked. We didn't for obvious reasons and was thankful that they had carts. Definitely something we'll come back to as the children get older!

For $60, you'd expect a playable and well-kept track -- but what you get here is mostly dead grass, huge patches of dirt, and inconsistent fairways and tee boxes. The conditions are downright unacceptable: * Tee boxes are uneven, bare in spots, and filled with weeds. * Fairways look more like abandoned fields, with dry, patchy areas and minimal healthy turf. * Rough is inconsistent, with overgrown weeds in some spots and dead, dusty soil in others. * Many areas look like they haven't seen water or maintenance in weeks. Golf is supposed to be challenging because of the design, not because you're hitting off rock-hard dirt patches or trying to find a blade of grass under your ball. Charging $60 for this is ridiculous -- it feels like a $20 muni course at best, and even then, I've played $20 courses in much better shape. Until they put serious work into fixing and maintaining this course, I'd recommend taking your money elsewhere. Kimberton has potential, but right now, it's just not worth your time or your wallet.

When we told the ranger that 2 of the golfers in our group were having a bit of a hard time that round, his suggestion was to-----split up the group!!! Again---NOT the way a round of golf is supposed to be managed! And when I say 'hard time' I only mean that they hit a few shots off the fairway into the rough or the trees and---as specified in the "Rules of Golf" are fully entitled to take 3 minutes to look for their ball!!! Apparently not at this course!

Markley Grille was a real treat: homemade meatball sliders and fries were outstanding. Why eat a hot dog.....aye carumba ! Reading the reviews about ranger harassment was NOT the case. 9-minute tee time separation reminded me to keep our play brisk. The rangers DID make sure we had cool water on three occasions - even on the 17th hole. We fixed our ball marks and a few extras; raked the bunkers as well. One bunker was in bad shape; not sure why. My understanding is that the carts are tracked electronically. Any reminder to players about pace of play is not biased. One practice swing on the tee box will serve you well. The greens at BVGC are not that hard to read. No need to do that [stuff] seen on TV. To those players who had a less than positive experience: remember to do your part and enjoy golf as it was intended. The option is to play at a country club for obscene money - if they would have you as a member. Respectfully, CH
