Warning, be very careful if you use the Victory Golf Pass Book, they do not give you the correct price as per the book.

Review of Twin Ponds Golf Course…read more We had a 12:04 tee time with my husband and two 16-year-olds who are just learning the game. Because the course was packed, we played best ball to keep things moving -- and still, we were waiting on walkers in front of us at every tee box. Mind you, we were playing from the reds. By the 4th hole, the group behind had caught up. I explained we were waiting on walkers, only to be told we should "take longer between groups" because my husband hits long. Ok, noted. On the 6th hole (a par 5), we had to wait at least ten minutes for two groups ahead of us to clear. When it was finally our turn, we played our best ball into the middle of the fairway -- just a short pitch to the green. As we were setting up to take our next shots (literally as the walkers in front of us stepped off the green), an older couple came flying up in a cart, shouting that we were "slowing the whole course down." When I tried to explain the obvious -- that we were waiting on the groups ahead -- the man cut me off with, "We are the owners." Instead of showing any courtesy or addressing the poor scheduling, they picked a fight with us -- in front of my kids. Here's the kicker: on the 8th tee, after being told we were holding everyone up, my husband teed off a little quicker than usual. He drove the ball onto the green in one -- nearly hitting the very group in front of us. Someone could have been hurt because we were now anxious and in a hurry. My take, Mr. and Mrs. Owner: Your course is one of the worst-kept around. You're cash-only, which feels more than a little questionable. In an area surrounded by golf courses, you'd think you'd treat paying customers better. If you don't want backups, manage your tee times instead of berating families who are actually following etiquette. And Mrs. Owner -- maybe check your lipstick before shouting at patrons, it was all over your teeth and cheeks. Bottom line: you ruined what should've been a fun round for my kids. We'll gladly play elsewhere.

The Gil Hanse designed course played much more difficult than the course rating. The hilly terrain yields many blind tees shots and obstructed shots to the greens. There was much movement on the greens-some of it not quite fair. Hanse developed this course after Inniscrone in southern chester county. That course was a controversial layout and Hanse surprisingly repeated some of the same (mistakes) here. Overall, a must play course that will have you shaking your head.

The staff upon arrival quickly meets you at the bag drop or if you're like me, missed that sign and they ran out to me at my truck. The clubhouse looks french country which makes sense, and the high ceilings of the men's locker room are incredible. The pro shop is stocked with premium brands and even Johnnie O gear which is cool! The course was playing a lot longer for us that day since it had rained a ton the day earlier but the conditions were superb. Tees, fairways and bunkers especially were spectacular. The rough was rough and when I got way off line it got rougher but that's expected based upon where I was! Greens are immaculate. I will say that the practice green on our day was quicker than the course greens, so that took a hole to get used to. Playing the tips left us with some serious challenges out there. Don't let the card yardage of just shy of 6600 fool you, it plays closer to 6900 because of the uphill plays to many greens. Also, if you don't score wel your first time, it's because of the greens, they take a little knowledge that none of the guys in my group had but thankfully we had a caddy to really help guide us! We're all long hitters in our group and he adjusted for our distance admirably once he saw it fly, I think our caddy was an asset to our enjoyment of the day! So why not the 5 stars you're wondering? Well, once we were all finished it's time for drinks on the fabulous outside deck overlooking 18 green, and our bartender seemed seriously disinterested in our party of 8. I ordered a pulled pork which was very good and very fresh but was more of an italian beef style with peppers and onions and spinach, I think it was spinach, I didn't read the menu unfortunately but was told that this was a quick sandwich. The views were great, the course was fabulous, the outside services was fantastic, but the last interaction we had was with a seemingly grumpy bartender and that tarnishes an otherwise special day.

Played for the first time today after having several people rave about the course…read more The other comments are correct, this course rewards accuracy, not length. It's possible to drive a few of the par 4 greens. Most holes are a driver and a wedge in. Most holes dog leg one way or the other so it really pays to know the course. You want to know which holes you can bomb a driver and which ones you have to use a wood off the tee. So many new courses that go up these days are building themselves to host future PGA events and make it impossible for a weekend golfer to shoot a solid round at it. I, for one, appreciate courses that are accessible to golfers of all handicaps like this one. In spite of a brutally dry spring so far I thought the course was in awesome shape and well maintained. The greens were green, the rough was cut down to a reasonable length and the fairways were great. What struck me even more about the place was how the owner was up front, taking calls, booking tee times and welcoming people to the course with enthusiasm. You just don't see that at older courses these days. He was working the register himself on a weekend morning. He was a complete mench and seemed thankful you were patronizing his place. The wait staff he hired was also extremely friendly. These are a few of the little things that make you want to go back to the place. Can't wait to check out the indoor facility during the winter. I'll be back....many times. Great job with this place.

The ranger was uninformed and harassed us despite playing in less that 4 hours and waiting on most shots. Didn't seem to know what a gap looked like. We were getting to 10th tee after bio break as group in front was leaving green (par 3) but he insisted there was a entire hole between us? Complained to pro after and he took responsibility. Maybe because we weren't regulars? I think my/our $80 is better spent on a course that understands golf and welccomes all customers.

Manager pulls up in a cart and asks "what was your tee time?!" We tell him, and he says "what is taking you guys so long?! Have you ever played golf before?! Average round of golf is 4 hours!" We explain we haven't been pushed from behind at all, and that it's not our experience that 4 hours is average. BTW, we're playing best ball, two v two, match play. I am not good, and not super experienced, but partner is a scratch golfer, so we're mostly playing his hits, and picking up mine, and going somewhat fast most of the time. We had taken a break after the 9th and had planned to tell anyone that came up on us to play through, and no one had. This guy was just totally unnecessarily incredibly rude, and frankly mistaken about who was slowing his course down. But regardless, even if we were slugs, people could have played through, and could have been decent about asking us to do that or to speed up. They'll never get another of any of our dollars, and I hope they won't get yours either. I feel badly for the other staff there whom I'd be happy to support, and I'm sure them dealing with him is very hard. Someone post here if that guy gets fired or quits, and I'll happily return and sing it's praises.

Didn't want to risk anyone's safety so we drove back to the pro shop to ask what our options were. I no more than walk through the door, and the same clown looks at me and barks "we are shutting everything down!". I said yea, I understand that's why I'm stopping in, then asked if they are pulling everyone of the course. His response was yes, so I asked was there anyway we could get a voucher or something to come back at a later date. His response was "for what?!" And points at the no refunds for inclement weather sign on the counter. I understand the policy, but 1. there's no reason for that much of a bad attitude 2. If you're shutting down the course you should offer something especially if it's thunder and lightning, not just rain. I've played here multiple times and unfortunately will not be returning.
