On the front 9 we sat on our asses for 20 mins for each hole, one hole we had four parties waiting for a par 3. We did a turnover to maple for the back 9, tell me why there's 4 parties waiting on hole 1 of maple... then (of course) we get shunned away to oak (which the poor starter is scrambling in this heat to try and keep the tee times moving) it took 3 full hours to get through the first 9. If I pay over 100 bucks to play your course, you should probably figure out how to space your times before you make us take six hours out of our day to play a damn round. Do better. Good food tho

I have played at all of the courses in our area and beyond. I've never been turned away because of cargo shorts. And they also told my friend that he has to tuck in his shirt. I always practice good golf etiquette. This was disappointing. I personally willing to pay $100 for a round of golf should not be turned away because of having pockets on the side of their shorts. Part of that is good because anytime you're talking about something that is priced like it was years or even decades ago, that's rarely a bad thing. The problem with that can be....what's the catch? The catch with ML is simply the condition of the course. I can remember playing here as a kids decades ago and even back then, you knew there were issues. Brown patches on the greens, choppy uneven greens, they gave up on their #3 sand trap forever ago, the "fairway" on #5 turns into a swamp if it's rained anytime within the past week and my favorite....the green at #8. #8 has a problem that also affects some of the other holes and is caused by the local residents of Melody Lakes. Those residents would be the Canadian Geese that hang out on/near/by the course. To put it mildly, the greens & grass get coated in goose crap to the point where it's impossible to putt without hitting multiple "cigars". It would be a smoother putt if you lined up down 309....when it's getting repaved. I guess this gives the course "character" and "adds to the experience"? Here's what works. The pricing. It's still $5 for 9 holes and then $2.50 if you go around again. Holes range from 43 to 95 yards. But, some of the carpets are also interesting as they are uneven to say the least and two of them have tees (not sure why you would use a tee at a chip and putt course) that are so tall that maybe they're usable for Joel Embiid but the rest of us would need to be doing a modified lumberjack chop. There are only so many chip and putt courses in the area and conditions aside, this one is a classic. The starter that was working yesterday was the single biggest asshole I've ever encountered on a golf course. My group plays together once a week so we are very conscientious of etiquette, dress code, pace of play, etc. We were not drinking. We were punctual. At the turn we ran in for a Gatorade and a hot dog each. Upon receiving our food, the start came running in and immediately started absolutely screaming at us, asking what the hell we were doing, if we were crazy, cursing etc. it was so obnoxious that we he was joking with us. He wasn't. He was furious that we stopped in the break area after hole 9. Screaming about pace of play. Meanwhile we didn't have a single hole where anyone was in the tee box before we finished, nor did we have to wait for anyone ahead of us at any point. The guy is extremely lucky there wasn't an immediate physical altercation based on his words and tonality. I've never seen anything like it. After the round, to be courteous we jokingly asked if we made good enough time. This dude acted like he had no idea who we were and told us we made great time on the day. It was like the twilight zone. With that said, me and my foursome will never be back. I realize this course doesn't need our money. But we don't need their aggravation. It is completely unacceptable to have someone with such pathetic communication skills interacting with every patron on your course.
