At first sight, the pizza looks to be delicious. By first bite though, it's glaringly obvious that there is something missing. Flavor. The husband used to say that he never met a pizza that he didn't like. Until he had one here, and this comes from a man whose middle name should be Bland. I think if they just used some spices to flavor up their sauce a bit, the pizza has the potential to be decent. Until then, though, I would rate the pizza two stars at most. That said, the rest of their food that has been sampled is, like the rating system here says, A-OK. The combo appetizer plate combines poppers, onion rings, fried mushrooms, mozzarella sticks, and fried zucchini and comes with 3 dipping sauces. Munch sparingly or you could find yourself close to being full by the time the dinner comes out. This is a great starter! My friend says the wings are very tasty. I don't eat wings, but I believe her. She's a wings whore, after all, and knows good wings. The "Tree Guys Slammer" trio of mini-cheeseburgers are cute, but almost all bun, so I suggest you pass on them. Decided to take a chance on this place as it looks fairly Italian. I had the eggplant parmesan sandwich and my wife and cousin had meatball subs. The meatball was fairly moist. The eggplant was very thin and not noticeable under all the bread. There was hardly any spice in the sauce (they used the same for each). Worst of it all...the sauce and meatballs are lukewarm. They must have been sitting around for a bit pre-made. The cheese on top was melted, but not hot at all. I was expecting something right out of the oven or broiler. Not here. I also cut off half of my sandwiches' bread. It's not anything special. Go to your local supermarket and buy a plain loaf of French bread-that's what you'll get here. It was too dry and no chewy Gonnella-like texture. I could have dealt with the bread, the lack of flavor in the sauce, but for heaven's sake heat it up at least so I know you are at least trying. Was shocked they were empty when i walked in at lunch time, made me wonder if i was making a bad choice for a bite to eat. Happily i can say i made the right choice. Party of 10 for a kids bday and these guys really accommodated us and were top notch dealing with a party of many young kids mayhem. Hats of to them because they were patient , kind , and always checking in on us. I called ahead to let them know we'd be coming at 8pm and though they do not do reservations they let us know what the scene would he like and there should be plenty of room available. They also handled the bday cake we had and brought it out timely and wirh the candles as instructed. We ordered 3 xl pizzas which were more than enough (even brought home left overs ). The pizza thin crust was good especially the bbq chicken . Ordered a few drinks here and there for the adults and it was still under 100 total. This place may not look like much, but they offer a pretty good buffet on Fridays for just $8. Not sure what they normally serve, but what I saw was a fair variety made up of Italian sausage, beef, chicken wrap, pizza, fish, salad, and watermelon. Came here last night with a group of friends after golf. Looks like your typical sports bar. Not so much Italinan as others mentioned. We sat in the bar area at a high top. Fairly decent and clean looking. Our service was very good and the prices are more than fair here. They have daily food specials for which Sunday's was an all you can eat chicken dinner for 11 bucks. Can't beat that deal. It came with a choice of salad or soup, mashed potatoes and slaw. I tried the pasta figole soup which was decent. The salads looked ok. A decent portion of your typical dinner salad, nothing fancy. The chicken was pretty good. It had a nice crunch and taste. The pieces were smaller so my guess is that these are not the steroid grown version, which is great by me! The chicken was good enough to get a second helping after the first 4 pieces. The potatoes were home made but a bit bland and still ok. The slaw was decent. They did have a Bloody Mary special for 3 bucks. Basic version with bar vodka and some spicy to it. I opted to pay an upcharge for a better vodka. As for the pizza the others had it was pretty good. I tried a piece of the sausage and was pleased with the good amount of toppings and a very good sauce as well as a nice crisp thin crust. Also it was not at all greasy. I've been coming to tree guys for 12 years and I love almost everything about it!! The bar area and the staff that runs it is top notch!! We usually request Tiffany because she is AMAZING but honestly the rest of the girls are great too! The food is amazing and when we had our baby we stopped visiting the bar as much and had to do pick ups because the food is amazing and I need it in my Life. Today tree guys lost 2 star because it has been a few times we have come to the dining area of the establishment since it's quiet for our child and the girls aren't too friendly and perhaps that's because they are young and it looks like it their first job. Today we came to pick up food and a girl named Everlyn (I think was what I heard someone call her) was in the front by the 3 registers when I came in and I said "hello I'm picking up" and she didn't even bother to look up or acknowledge my presence. I waited calmly thinking she might be distracted since she was inputting something on the register. When she was done she looked up at me and carried her ticket to a nearby table. Not once did she acknowledge me or even simply state that she would be right back. Not a single word just a look of disdain. Finally she came back along with another girl and it was the other girl who actually asked me what I came to pick up. Hopefully Tree guys management can guide them into simple customer service greetings. read more

Was seated near the bar door on a very cold day. The employees kept going in and out to smoke. Not only did they keep letting the cold air in, but the very strong smell of cigarettes came with it. Not pleasant. Soup was just warm and the pizza barely had any sauce on it. Not a fan of their crust. The service in general was very good, though. Very attentive. The lunch buffet on Wednesdays and Fridays is awesome. The deep dish pizza is great, and they also have a fantastic fried chicken salad. My work has ordered regular thin crust pizzas too (also featured in the buffet), and they are good but the deep dish is way better. Can you find any more incompetent waitresses? If you order pizza by the slice it is usually really old and stale. The Pub side is trash, but the restaurant is a step up from Pizza Hut. Barbecue Pizza is good. It seems like the same townies are always at the bar.. You know the ones who are 26 and still live in their parents basement. The waitress refused to tell my friend the specials. They usually give popcorn to the patrons- the other night the waitress didn't feel like making any after we even asked for some several times (she just dismissed the request). Try not to order any drinks that may take any measurement or special instructions to make, they will disappoint you. Stick to beer or something simple so that they don't jack it up so bad. read more

I ordered delivery from this place, and it was fantastic. I ordered the small deep dish pizza, and it's as good as Giordano's. The regular fries were excellent as well. I didn't like how a can of pop was charged as $1.00, but it was cold and refreshing. I have yet to experience the full menu, but so far the pizza is their specialty for me! 5 star potential - wait staff, bartenders and menu is great. The kitchen has some serious issues. Of the last 10 times I've dined here, 50-70% of the orders were returned. My latest issue was tonight, I ordered a pizza, grilled italian sausage, and a side of vodka sauce. (order #118) What I got was a pizza, and a grilled sausage smothered with vodka sauce. When I received my order with the sauce on the side, they replaced my grilled sausage with a deep fried sausage that tasted like a burnt corn dog. Who fries italian sausage???? Disgusting. Other issues I've had in the past is under-cooked food, wrong food delivered than what ordered, and when ordering gluen-free anything, be weary - I had 2 days of a sick friend because of a mix-up in the kitchen. I still really like this restaurant, I just wish they'd fire the hacks that work in the kitchen and hire someone that knows something. So my wife and I have eaten here plenty and have always had good experiences. Tree Guys is primarily a pizza place, and while the pizza is plenty good, what really sets it apart for me is... everything else. First of all, the burgers are probably the best around. Great juicy meat, always cooked just right, and a nice freshly baked bun. I'm personally a fan of the Smokehouse Burger that has finely shredded melted cheddar, bacon, and BBQ sauce. It's just amazing. Their side dishes are great too. Wonderful hand-cut fries that are always just the right texture and nearly perfect hand-cut potato chips are your choices and you can't go wrong with either. I've always had the pizza burger, which is pretty excellent and their other sandwiches, especially the chicken parmesan, are all great. As for the pizza, it's not slouch itself. The thin crust is an all around good experience, top to bottom. The deep dish is probably the best kind they have, a solid A-/B+. Not my all time favorite, but near the top of my list. They also have a "thick crust" which is pretty good, but takes almost as long as the deep dish to cook and isn't different enough from the thin to make it worth the time. Either stick with the thin or if you're preparing to wait awhile get the deep. So overall, this is one of my favorite local places. Dine in, carry out, it doesn't matter, you get a good meal here. read more

I stopped in here with a friend upon the recommendation of my hairdresser. Good suggestion, Juan! We came in for a late lunch and were still warmly received. The place is small but cozy. It's conveniently located across from the Metra station in Itasca. Our luck couldn't have been better since they were running a special that day--buy one pizza get one free! What? I need to eat in the suburbs more often. I never find deals like that in the city. The pizza was quite good. The crust was crispy, the cheese gooey, and the veggies fresh. If you're in the neighborhood don't miss having a meal here. I would love to go back next time I'm out this way to try something else on the menu. read more

Oh.my!! I met up with some Yelpers for a long overdue get together. I am not sorry I came to Tree Guys. Not sorry about the great company and good times and most definitely not sorry about the food! I sampled some of the Seafood Combo Appetizer and was sorry I did not get one of my very own. The Calamari was fresh,not the least bit rubbery,legs and all.The mussels were tender and the clams were not gritty. These bad boys were all done up and served in a rich,garlicky tomato sauce that came with a few wedges of garlic bread for sopping up the sauce,but not nearly enough bread. Holy Mother of Pearl....had I been in the privacy of my own home,I would have bathed in that sauce.It was that good! I ordered the Tree Guys Favorite pizza....yum,yum and yum! The thin crust pizza has Ricotta,spinach and garlic generously distributed on it.I am a fan!Another at our table tried a slice and he said he was sorry he did not get that pizza. Yes......Tree Guys will see me again and soon,I hope! Service was good and the food was even better. I do not know why I continue to punish myself by going here. They food is okay - nothing great. I have never had any problems when I go to the bar but the people on the restaurant side are rude. We have stood there before, during the dinner hour, when there have been empty tables and we are told we need to wait for something to open up. I specifically asked if we could have one of the open tables and was told I could not. I asked if they were reserved and was told they do not take reservations. I started raising he!! and then they seated my family. On another trip the coaches (I was a coach also) called a few days ahead to let them know we had a team coming in and we pre-ordered our pizzas. Ten minutes after our second round of pizzas came the hostess came over and told us we needed to hurry up because they had another group coming in. I told her we just received our food and she said they needed our tables for the next group and walked away. We continued to eat and drink (we still had pitchers of soda that were over half full) and the hostess came back and wanted to know if we wanted our pizzas boxed up because they needed to start cleaning up our table. Parents started shuffling their children out. I told the hostess that this was rude and she asked me what did I expect her to do. She told me we could not tie up the tables all night. We had not even been sitting at our tables for an hour yet. It's one of those scenarios where you say, "Did that just happen?" Tonight 4 of us went there and the host was a young man that looked like he was 13 or 14 years old. We were waiting for a table for about 30 minutes. A group of 4 people came in and were seated in about 10 minutes. I approached the young host and told him that group came in after us and he seated him. The host told me we had not been waiting that long and that I needed to go sit back down with my group. Wow. I went back to my group and we laughed about this teen putting me in my place. A few minutes later ANOTHER group (3 people this time) walked in and was seated within minutes. I approached the host and told him this was unsatisfactory and he once again told me we had not been waiting that long and we should have a table soon. We walked out. The bottom line is that this business is ran rather rudely. If I was the owner I would be extremely concerned. read more

The sun was shining, a clean breeze was blowing, and the 3 fore mentioned modes of transportation were audibly and visually on top of you while eating lunch on the deck at Tree Guys. At one point the train was blowing, an airplane was approaching, cars were streaming by, and a truck was backing up somewhere. Cute little place in downtown Itasca. The cheesy garlic bread was good! Small portion though - two pieces of 6 inch french bread, each cut in half. We got a thick crust sausage pizza - it was very filling, we can usually down a 14 inch pizza no problem, but we each had four slices and we were done! It reheats well the next day, too. We will definitely be back to try other menu items! I will say though, I had a Sprite to drink, and the servers walk around with pitchers of pop to pour refills, and not once but twice did I get water instead of Sprite! The first time they brought me a whole new drink, but the second time I just gave up and drank it. They weren't very on top of that. read more
