On 04/24/25 the owner of the property adjacent to ours hired this company to remove a tree that was…read moreat risk of falling onto our property. While taking the tree down, a large branch fell. It ripped through the polyurethane fabric of our outdoor storage shed & broke the corner metal frame. (It broke the metal pipes, it came down with such force.) Smaller branches left holes in the ground. While one of the workers immediately acknowledged the damage & apologized, the owner never contacted me like I was told he would. At 7pm I contacted him. He didn't seem to understand the extent of the damage because he only offered to replace the "tarp." I asked him to come assess the damage himself but he wouldn't give me a day & time when he available. I explained that valuable items were now exposed to the elements. He insisted on involving the elderly lady who hired him & eventually hung up on me. He offered my son a mere $250. His crew didn't even clean up the fallen mess. The elderly lady who hired him drove 2 hours to come assess the damage herself (I hadn't spoken to her so I assume the owner contacted her like he said he would). I was shocked when she texted me asking if she could drop off a check for $150 as the 1st installment of the $500 that *she*, not The Tree Connection, was going to pay! I told her absolutely not! She did not do the damage, the company did, & they're the ones responsible for it! I've never heard of a company expecting the person who hired them to pay for damage their crew did! Make sure you have a written guarantee that you will not be responsible any damage this company causes should you decide to hire them.

As the homeowner I was riddled with anxiety over the tree removal process. Would my driveway crack from the weight of a crane, or if placed on the yard would the crane dangerously compact the soil, threaten the water and sewer lines? And so many more questions. The lead arborist Mike was fantastic. During our first appointment he patiently explained the tree removal process clearly, and responded to subsequent texts from this "Nervous Nellie." On June 18, Mike directed the crew of professionals who worked so methodically using the giant equipment that I was fascinated. In about two and half hours the tree was taken down section by section and some lowered into the chipper truck while huge logs were stacked--to be taken away that morning. When they were done, my lawn was raked, leaf blown, drive way raked and swept. What an amazing team!
