I cannot say enough good things about John Croxton and how much he and his family helped during an extremely difficult time. Each death was sudden and his team was very responsive, great with communication and was able to tend to our families needs. They did a nice job preparing the bodies of my relatives before we had to identify them (required, even with cremation). They have always been very accommodating, even on short notice and during inclement weather (in the middle of a snow storm). I highly recommend their expertise and trust the staff at TP White. They are empathetic and made a difficult process a little easier by handling all the details for us and walking us through each step. The Croxton family is also deeply connected to and invests in the Mt. Washington community and surrounding. They are good stewards and I prefer to spend my money with a local business that genuinely cares.

This cemetery matches up to those in terms of the quality of the groundskeeping and the ability to navigate around the cemetery. The grounds here are beautiful and it's clear that the groundskeeping staff works hard to keep this place in excellent condition as a sign of respect to those who are laid to rest here. Salmon Chase (Governor and Supreme Court), Rudolph Wurlitzer (founder of the Wurlitzer company), Bernard Henry Kroger (founder of the Kroger supermarket chain), both Procter and Gamble. My husband came back and informed me that we had to continue to wait (which took another 15 minutes) until they could find people to literally lift my wheelchair and carry me up all those stairs!!!! I was HORRIFIED !!! And EXTREMELY HUMILIATED!!!!! Not to mention I felt it to be EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, what if one of them tripped going up all those stairs, or lost their grip!!!!!! The cemetery opened in 1843, under the name of "The Second German Protestant Cemetery" In 1941, at the beginning of World War II, the name was changed to Walnut Hills Cemetery. Today, the cemetery sits on over 70 acres .

The hills were a good challenge and I was too busy trying to get a good time (and not trip over myself in the almost pitch black path) to really soak up the night time scariness that a cemetery possesses. I read a bit on the WHC website and saw that it is one of the oldest (opened in 1843) in the area. It was also originally called The Second German Protestant Cemetery. The cemetery comprises 70 acres. As I was running through it I had no idea it was that big. The website also has a nifty genealogy search http://www.walnuthillscemetery.org/Genealogy.html Try it out! I did see a really neat gothic church-like building and assume it might be a small chapel or mausoleum. I'll have to check it out next time I visit. If you do jog through this place (or do the Run Like Hell, which I heartily recommend); watch the road as there were a few potholes and potential ankle twisting sections. Failure to do so could leave you as a permanent resident of the place.... whaaa haaa haaa. /spooky laugh
