With an exterior painted proudly in the colours of the Italian flag following Italy's World Cup victory in 2006, Trecenydd Fish Bar is immediately noticeable to those passing by, but for those who have sampled the goods within, the shop is even more noteworthy.
The chips served up here are some of the best I've ever tasted, although I might be biased as my family have been buying their fried up gold here since the dawn of time.
With the chippy located just five minutes from St Cenydd Comprehensive School, it is no surprise that they get a lot of business from school kids at lunch time. This can result in queues that would rival any theme park and can leave a hefty waiting period, although it is undoubtedly worth the wait the second you delve into the bag.
On a personal note, this chippy is located on St Cenydd Road which is directly en route to my local gym, meaning I am regularly taunted with drool-inducing aromas of molten potatoes and searing fish on my way home from a workout...damn you, Treccy Chippy, damn you and your delicious, unhealthy snacks! read more
