I usually treat myself to a deep tissue massage or a reflexology session if I'm going to splash out on a complementary therapy for relaxation purposes, and at Clifton Medi Spa is was reflexology. While I'm dubious about some of the more ambitious claims of its many benefits, I enjoy it as a straightforward relaxation treatment. I've never had a reflexology session I haven't enjoyed, although some exert more pressure than others. This one was just the right balance, with enough pressure to feel like it's releasing tension, but not enough to be too painful! Pressure on different parts of your feet is intended to alleviate specific health problems, but for me it just leaves me feeling refreshed and like I'm walking on air afterwards. They also offer a range of other health treatments such as podiatry and chiropody, which I haven't tried, alongside their ever expanding range of cosmetic treatments, which I also haven't tried. The owner has teamed up with Dr Alan Wyn Jones of 'Defy Time' to expand the range of cosmetic treatments available at the clinic - and I hear they now offer all sorts from laser treatments to peels, as well as the scary stuff such as injectibles and fillers - but I think I'll be sticking to the massages and reflexology!

If you're thinking about having any expensive skin therapies, this place comes highly recommended by a number of my friends who've had various successful treatments here, including microdermabrasion and acne treatment - and I can vouch myself for the staff being very helpful in advising on skincare products that they sell, too. If you have a specific skin condition such as acne or scarring, they offer special skincare ranges for these - and if you're considering an expensive treatment they often offer promotional packages for a series at a reduced price. These are well worth looking out for (or asking about) because some treatments such as microdermabrasion are only really effective if you have a series of sessions - and you could end up saving yourself hundreds of pounds. What I particularly like about Sk:n is that all the staff I've ever encountered there have been really friendly and helpful; they're not intimidating in any way (unlike staff in some beauty salons!) and they offer Sunday appointments (and late night opening from Monday-Thursday!), which is very handy if you're busy working most of the week.

Having agreed the type of massage and the length of time the massage begins. I had booked a fouty-minute back hand massage with extras,this consisted of three unique massages by three different people. Managed to get relief from the first massages but then got cramp im my balls.
