The Treatment Room offers a large selection of massages (and by this I don't mean the dodgy kind, I…read moremean actual Thai massages!), Spa treatments and things like glycolic peels and hair removal. The staff are your usual very calm and collected young girls who make your eyelids droop just by talking to them, therefore if its relaxation you're after, it's relaxation you're going to get! I was very impressed with the back massage I had, but as it was a present one Valentine's Day, I don't think I could afford to do this on a regular basis. I am yet to try any of their other treatments, but just by going on the Valentine's Day special I had, I would definitely recommend them. It's also in a handy location - at the top of Park Street and down a little of Park Row meaning after that long walk uphill it's a perfect way to reward yourself!

I would say this is somewhere to go if you're more on a budget as they put on loads of offers pretty much all the time so you can get a good deal, but if you are after something a bit higher class I'd probably recommend heading up to Lido Spa in Clifton. The Treatment Rooms definitely offer a good service though, and the list of treatments they offer is pretty extensive - you can get real Thai massages, all sorts of wax's, facials, manicures and the list goes on. The place itself from the outside doesn't look that great, but inside it's well done up, clean, and modern - and the staff are all really friendly. This is the sort of place that you will have to book in advance though, as being in a good location and offering good prices it gets very busy so you will have to try and get an appointment in advance.

Absolutely awful experience with beauty box coldharbour. I emailed the salon asking for a refund, and was told that they could only offer to redo the service. I appreciated the gesture but at that point, I didn't have time to go in and get it all redone before I left. I explained this to Julia, the salon owner and even sent her pictures of my nails so she could see the clearly substandard job. Had it been any other day I would've been happy to get them redone, but as I explained to Julia several times I was leaving for my wedding abroad in less than 48 hours and simply couldn't accommodate another appointment in my schedule. Julia repeatedly ignored this and continued to ask for my availability to get them redone. I eventually decided to move some other appointments and called the salon Friday morning to reschedule, but there was no availability at the westbury location. The lady I spoke with very tersely told me that I should've taken the appointment she offered yesterday at 1 PM (I wasn't available then, and had already spent two hours at the salon that morning) she then told me that if I had been so dissatisfied with my service then I should've refused to pay. This might have been a good solution if they hadn't taken 2/3 of the payment up front when I booked! I did eventually agree to go in to have the nails redone on the Friday, but as there was no availability in my local salon I had to go to an even further one away. Despite Julia's insistence that fixing my nails "would only take 45 minutes" I was there for nearly two hours. In fairness, the ladies at the Clifton salon were able to fix my nails; but requiring your clients to carve more time out of their own schedules so that the technicians can have another shot at a proper service is just not adequate. Will not be returning here: rude employees, terrible service and utterly incompetent nail technicians.

I'd like to think of myself as quite an outgoing and friendly kind of girl, but when it comes to…read morethe hairdressers I really hate making idle chit chat. It's so banal and dull that I sometimes make things up to keep the conversation alive. "I'm moving to New York next week.... I'm in training for the marathon at the moment... I'm getting married next month". This is why I cannot go back to the same hairdressers more than once. So when I needed my locks tamed last week Serenity on Clifton Triangle was next on my hit list. I didn't need to pre-book as they'd had a cancellation which was ideal. The girls were sweet and friendly and bought me endless cups of tea. The stylist really understood what I was after, even though she made one too many references to 'whoever did your hair last time,' before rolling her eyes. At £40 for a cut and style I was very happy to pay as I was chuffed to bits with my new do. Very relaxing atmosphere, plenty of magazines to avoid the awkward banter - lovely.

However, I was greeted warmly by the receptionist who led me upstairs. It is such a contrast from the pokey minimalist front room with whitewashed walls. I walked into what felt like a Parisian boudoir, lots of ambiance, chandeliers and luxury. You knew you were in for a treat. I had a head and shoulder massage while my girlfriend had a facial. My girlfriend said that the facial left her refreshed and revitalised. My massage was amazing, I left feeling relaxed and energised and my masseuse put me at my ease but did not try and talk or make inane chit chat, I could just lie there and unwind. Do not judge this salon by it's appearance, go there and enjoy.

I also had my eye brows waxed which look great and good value, the girl was funny and friendly exactly how you want a therapist to be. The layout: The building is oddly laid out there is a pretty shop downstairs and the actual salon is 4 floors up! There are signs that point to reception being upstairs. When i was having my massage all i could hear was the floor upstairs creaking which was not very relaxing! Negatives: when i found the reception i waited 15 minutes to be welcomed, a young lady said hello and left me there and i presume the owner/manager came and made me feel a bit uncomfortable stating no one knew i was there and they had been waiting for me.....hmm man your reception desk then i was thinking, but being ever polite..i didnt say that. Wasnt the ideal welcome to Icandy i had been hoping for-does annoy me when business make the client feel at fault. Regardless it was a mostly positive experience. i think i will be going again they have lots of different treatments that other salons don't offer and the eyebrow tidying was really very good.

Having endured several cruel asides about my orange palms, streaky knees, brown cuticles and crusty, muddy elbows, when I was due to be bridesmaid at my best friend's wedding I decided to call in the experts. But, knowing I was attending a wedding in a visible role with my dearest friends (and harshest critics), I decided arriving the mahogany tone of David Dickinson or the orange hue of an Oompa Loompa was not desirable. I trawled the websites of Bristol's beauty salons and decided it was best to avoid the San Tropez nightmare. I Candy does a really good range of airbrush tans, so I plumped for them. Yes you do have to drop trou and don the paper panties, but I promise you, you won't end up looking like Ross from friends. The result was so good and realistic that I decided to go with them on my own wedding day. I was somehow also persuaded to go for bio-sculpture gel on my finger and toe nails and, desperate to be the perfect bride, I agreed. However, I found it to be a really destructive force on my nails. The woman at the salon did assure me the layers would come off with a strong remover but that was not the case. And when I did finally get them off, the nails underneath where like brittle, wrinkled grapes. It's taken six months for them to recover. So, I would say go here for spray tans, but not for nails. They do do a range of other treatments from the more invasive treatments like skin tag removal, electrolysis and teeth crystals to the more standard like main-pedis, waxing and facials. The only other treatment I've used is waxing, which was fine and I'm sure many of the other treatments would be. But the salon is a bit shabby inside and I think the service could be better and more personal.
