I did not have a good experience with Green Street House.
I'd booked a Hollywood wax but when I turned up was told the appointment was cancelled because the therapist had called in sick, and they didn't have my number to let me know. I thought this was understandable as this can happen (although they should have asked for my number when I called, and other customers might have expected some sort of compensation, which wasn't offered), but the person at the desk was very apologetic and friendly and even offered to help find alternative salons.
I would've been fine with this. However I then rebooked the wax for the following day and it was absolutely terrible. The towel I was given to 'cover' myself clearly wasn't clean (several blobs of wax on it, although I was the first morning appointment), and I had to ask the window blinds to be shut as there were windows in the building across the street looking directly into the room.
Most terrible was the person who did my wax, Zara, who: 1) did not check which type of wax I wanted nor explain these (although I was told my therapist would do this on the phone); 2) missed out loads of hair all over the place; 3) did not check with me at the end whether I was satisfied; and 4) even caused a mild bleed (which I saw on the cotton pad I was given to wipe with). On top of this, and she acted like she really did not want to be there and couldn't be bothered with the day ahead of her (lots of sighs, complaining about her workload, generally mopy and unfriendly attitude).
I do have to say that I had a Swedish massage there which was lovely (which was done by the same helpful person who was at the front desk). However generally I'd say avoid, at least for waxing. I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere. read more
