Is it touristy? YES. Is it expensive? YESSS. Do you have to do it at least once? YES! Have I done it *every* time I've been to Bath? ...YES. Okay, I don't actually think the Thermae Bath Spa is an absolute *must* when visiting Bath (like it won't make or break your trip), but if you find yourself with a couple free hours then you should FOR SURE come and treat yourself. Because... why not? When in Rome, I mean Bath. Booking in advance is highly recommended, as they can only let in x-amount of people at a time. As a solo traveler, I've always come midday, midweek and have had luck getting in immediately (or they've been able to give me a time later in the day to come back). Prices as of writing this: £42.50 for weekday/£47.50 for weekend for the two hour "spa session" which includes a towel, robe, and slippers. Head into the changing rooms, pick a locker to safely put your personal belongings in (your key is a bracelet you'll wear while here), and then do whatever you want for those two hours. PRO TIP: leave your towel in your locker!!! The first time I came, I carried mine with me and it was SOAKED by the end. Things to do... 1) The Minerva Bath, on the first floor, is a large indoor pool with jets, a whirlpool, and a little lazy river that's fun to be whisked away in. 2) The Wellness Suite on the second floor offers a Celestial Relaxation Room (it's five tiled lounge chairs in a warm room with a galaxy like atmosphere and screen playing different music - when it's full, it's full, and people are mostly napping in here so it's always full), the Ice Chamber (it's a room with an ice trough where you can scoop handfuls to rub all over your body), the Infrared Room (stadium style seating; plop in front of a heater panel and let the penetrating waves of light beam into your muscles... not gonna lie, I hang out here the most), Georgian Steam Room and the Roman Steam Room (these get SO steamy [and stifling hot] that you won't actually be able to see anything, and that makes it all the funnier especially sitting amongst strangers... I like the Roman one more because it's bench seating [and smells nicer], where the Georgian one has individual seats), and of course the Experience Showers (rain shower heads, colored lighting, and ambient sounds). Unfortunately, sometimes a room is closed and that does change the experience quite a bit. 3) The open-air Rooftop Pool. As you can imagine, this is usually one of the busiest areas. On a nice day, the naturally warm, mineral-rich waters outside amongst all that Bath stone is pretty hypnotizing. Even better, there's no sulfuric smell as can often be found in natural baths. For a cost of £41 apiece (£46 on weekends) you can pre-book a two-hour time slot here, giving you access to all of the common facilities which include: * Open Air Rooftop Pool * Minerva Bath + Whirpool + Hot Bath * Wellness Suite (Roman Steam Room, Georgian Steam Room, Infrared Room, and Ice Chamber) * Secure lockers, towels, showers, robe, and changing room . I'll admit to spending the majority (all?) of my time in the Open Air Rooftop Pool. The combination of the view, the chill wind, and the warm waters was positively enchanting. But all of the other features here are also created using the same waters which emanate from beneath the town. Thermae Bath Spa is an adults-only experience and though one reviewer here reports it being crowded, dirty, and unorganized, my experience was the polar opposite; none are words I'd use to describe any part of the place. Other stuff: * Walk-ups are allowed but only if there is room available so best to reserve in advance. * Bring a swimsuit and flipflops. * To ensure privacy, all phones are placed in secured containers at time of entry and not removed until exiting. Went here with my partner and his sister who go a few times a year. I was told that due to the thermal waters their are nutrients, minerals and health benefits. Probably important for me to mention that I am American where for us the day spas I patronize you pay for a day pass to the spa versus your paid entry here only including 2 hours. For myself and my partner personally two hours is just not enough time to relax, to stay on schedule with the ability to experience all floors and rooms I had to continue exploring every 10-15 minutes which left no time to relax. Soon as I would get comfortable and start snoozing it was time to move on to the next room or level. I am not quite sure the reason for the two hour time limit but would love to know. Also, as you migrate between the floors with the one towel and bath robe they give you constantly taking off and putting back on at some point thy become drenched and no longer serve the purpose of keeping you warm in-between floors and dry. Also, they accept reservations; however everything was extremely small here from the multi bodies in the pools to the point you could not find a spot along the wall to the crammed bodies within the treatment rooms; this facility needs to be badly renovated to accommodate the reservations they are receiving or they need to decrease the number of reservations allotted within a given time frame. Lastly, for each pool there is only one massage water pressure device so there are literally lines to access it. For a pool I am used to having ample (8-10) per pool. Will i return; not if I can locate a more cozy and accommodating day spa. Sorry one more thing they make you lock up your phones here and the showers, and locker rooms are co-ed. So you are literally showering with a bathing suit on; I could not wait to get back to my partners sisters place to take a proper shower. read more

Absolute must do in Bath! Your skin will thank you for it. Over 42 minerals in the warm water, you get to float around in. We took the two hour package, which lets you visit all the levels, the big pool, the saunas, ice baths, and the cafe and the rooftop pool. We started at the big pool on the first level. Lovely, clean area, lots of space for everyone, and I loved how the water softens your skin. Then we moved to the saunas of which there were several different ones, all heated differently. We did the infra red and the charcoal. Then we moved out to the rooftop, which was amazing, on a Sunny day in Bath, you have a great view and your in a heated pool. Life isn't bad! I didn't get bored here, you just look out at the views, from all the different areas, and then when it was time to go, you go back to the changing rooms and claim your stuff and head out! They have showers and all the necessary things you need to take a shower too. Honestly though you'll want that mineral salt to stay on your skin so I don't recommend showering as you'll lose it all. They have a great in and out system, providing, flip flops and robes, and your own personal locker for your belongings. They do check in your phones though at check in which is understandable as the whole place is very wet! So no pictures! But you do have to go and check it out. Loved our time here. read more

First time at a spa in Europe and I do have to say that this was a pretty interesting experience. In Asia, the spas are typically all nude and there's a wide variety of healing pools which was what I was expecting at Thermae but that was not the case at all. Thermae essentially has 2 large pools (upstairs and downstairs) and then a bunch of different steam rooms in the intermediary floors as well as a massage area if you so choose. You get 2 hours to explore the whole place including showering off and changing, which at first doesn't seem like a lot but is most definitely is as your skin may not like you if you do any more than that. Here are some of my unexpected experiences: - These were the hottest steam rooms I have ever been to, I literally couldn't see my hands that were right in front of me. Contacts were a bit useless right there and then. - The large pools had so many people and I was surprised that there were no seats in the pool. A lot of people were hanging out in the middle which was a bit awkward at first but I guess you get used to it. - Also I thought it was interesting how you directly walk into the lockers and changing rooms. I thought it was a weird design at first but I quite liked it at the end as it made everything very convenient. By the way, getting the tickets might be the most difficult part of this whole experience. I tried to call them and email them beforehand for the tickets but they didn't respond to any of my inquiries. We resorted to going there earlier in the morning and was able to get a pretty early time-slot although you are not really able to choose when you get to go. For instance, going at 9:30am to get a time slot may result in a noon appointment which was what happened to us. Overall, very interesting experience at Thermae. Would I do it again? I'm not quite sure because it really isn't the most Covid safe thing you can do right now, I don't think they even check if you're vaccinated or not. WILDY expensive for a crowded, dirty, unorganized place. its giving YMCA public pool. spent over £300 to get a facial with my partner which is honestly ridiculous as ive gotten better facials for a quarter of the price. still was nice but no extractions? its a £125 facial, i'd expect a little more than just applying creams. on top of it all, after our treatments we were both given different directions as to relocating one another so we were lost and seperated for several minutes. theres a no phone policy so finding each other was extremely difficult, especially since the staff was so rudely unhelpful. also the sight of everyones bare feet along with staff and maintenance mens outside shoes touching the same floor is just gross to me. read more

This is not your typical spa and nothing like I've ever experienced before. I can see why people for millennia have bathed in the warm thermal waters from this spring as I felt like a million dollars later that day. I purchased the two hour pass for £40 which gave me access to a large warm pool with hot tub like areas and a huge rooftop pool overlooking the city. I also had access to saunas, steam rooms (two types), ice-room, and got and cold showers. The lockers and showers are open to everyone with privacy cubicles for changing. While the views are amazing and the facilities are beautiful, don't come here if you're looking for your next Instagram post as cameras are not allowed (they give you a pouch which locks your phone away). We extended our stay in London and decided to rent a car and visit Stonehenge and the town of bath to see the ancients baths. Doing a little research, I was pleasantly surprised to find a spa where you could still soak in the thermal waters! My hubby and I scheduled a 2 hour visit at Thermae and it was absolutely delightful!! The facilities are super clean, they put everyone's phones in a locking pouch upon arrival, the various pools, saunas, steam rooms, etc. we're large and inviting, and the celestial room was super cool!! If you are looking for relaxation - this is not it. There were FAR too many people there. Wasted valuable time searching/waiting for a changing room, the open-air heated pool was rammed with people, barely any space in any of the wellness experience rooms (sauna/steam room etc). Because there are so many people, there is absolutely no chance of relaxation. I was looking forward to the celestial room, but there were only 5 or 6 'beds' and every 2 seconds the door opened with people looking to come in. In addition, 2 hours is nowhere near enough time. By the time you've got changed and wandered up and down 3 or 4 flights of stairs to each area, then take off 20 minutes to make sure you can, shower, find a changing room and get dressed before your time is up, you've probably got an hour to experience the pool, the outdoor spa and the wellness experience rooms. You get an extra 30 minutes if you buy something from the shop but the whole place just reeked of greed. I would have been happy to pay a little more to have fewer people there and have 3 hours to enjoy the whole place properly instead of clock watching. read more

I went here a couple of weeks ago with my husband. We made an appointment in advance, which I believe is required during COVID. We also scheduled massages. The massages were great. I would give them 5 stars alone! Both of us like different styles of massages and our therapists listened to what we each wanted. The treatment area is nice and feels luxurious. The facilities in the rest of the spa that everyone has access to isn't nearly as nice as the treatment area. It felt like any more people would have been really crowded. I can't imagine what it's like when they don't have their numbers restricted during covid and I wouldn't want to know! The pools themselves are very nice. The water is warm and comfortable. But the locker rooms and showering areas are small and cramped. Plus you only get one towel and one robe to wear the whole day. So if you want a dry or clean towel for after your shower then you're out of luck. read more

Really enjoyed it! Before I visited Bath, I googled it a bunch and one of the most intriguing photos I saw over and over was of the rooftop pool that looked out on the historic buildings. The photos don't lie, it really is that amazing and cool. I made a point of reading a bunch about Thermae Spa to find out prices, best times to go, etc... We drove into Bath and went on a Thursday late afternoon. We arrive around 4:30pm and there was no line. From what I read, there is often a line, but with the unusually warm weather, they said it wasn't very busy, so we were able to walk right in. We paid for 2.5 hours of Spa and pool time and it was worth it, but not cheap. We also rented towels but not slippers and robes. The changing area is unisex but there are secluded rooms you can change and then your wrist band gives you access to a locker that easily fits all your clothes and a bag. Don't bring luggage here as there is nowhere to store it. We changed and headed to the downstairs pool. The lower level pool was lovely. It had currents that pushed you around, noodles you could use to effortlessly float with, and a pool within a pool that had lots of bubbles at times (timed bubbles on/off).I enjoyed that pool and could have spent hours in it. It never felt over crowded. We then went to the rooftop pool. WOW. The view is fantastic, the water is warm, and it's a popular pool. Just look at the photos and you'll see why people go here. Relaxing on a sunny warm day with super modern meeting old world Bath was amazing. Both pools have _very_ easy entry in and out that mobility impaired people will even have an easy time with. Gradual large steps with big handrails. The aromatherapy chambers were cool. There is a floor with a large room with 4 distinct chambers of aromatherapy. Each one has its own scents and in the middle of the four was a huge ceiling waterfall shower (on a timer). I really like the eucalyptus chamber but didn't love any of the others. The rooms were essentially saunas, with a certain scent and color. You can spend as little or as much time as you want on each floor and most people go back and forth from floor to floor. There are stairs and elevators. I loved my experience there, so why not 5 stars? Bathrooms and showers are located on a different level than changing rooms. Weird. The cost isn't cheap and I didn't feel like the options were at all explained. I'm glad I looked online a lot before going to the counter, because the guy at the counter just asked for some money and sent us on our way. I wish we had been given all the possible options. I would recommend this place and as you'll read from others, if you book a treatment, you don't have to wait if there is a line. OR you can be really lucky and go when there isn't a line. read more

A modern day Roman bath house? Check! After taking a tour of historic Bath, we decided to walk down the street to the current day spa. I'm not going to lie, I was slightly hesitant to go here as I thought it was expensive, however my husband really wanted to see it and we decided to go as an early bday gift to him. As my husband says, "people have been using this tourist trap since 70AD, so it must be worth it". And it was! I enjoyed it so much more than I thought I would! Being the only natural hot springs in the U.K., it makes this place special. The entrance fee gives you access to the entire spa for two hours. We started at the rooftop hot springs that had amazing views of the city! Especially at night! They also have a hot springs on the lower level. My favorite area was definitely the sauna. It was super relaxing, and they have an ice/snow room for you to cool off in. There was also an oddly enjoyable space room. Yes, space as in outerspace. Completely dark room with stars lighting up the ceiling and a TV with pictures of galaxies and relaxing music. Super cool! Could it was the fact that we had been traveling for 12 days that made this experience super fun and relaxing? Maybe. But I don't care, it was worth every penny! read more

You can't help but feel like Daddy Warbucks when luxuriating in the ROOFTOP Hot Tub at Thermae Bath Spa! Besides the rich feeling of soaking in the naturally fed water, you also get a sweeping view of the grand city of Bath. After the disappointment at the Roman Baths, we immersed our selves in luxury to the highest degree at the Bath Spa. The price in 2008 was 22 pounds ($44 dollars) for a two-hour session. In hindsight I wished we had purchased the four hour session so we didn't feel so rushed. The price included access to three of the spa rooms but the highlight was certainly the hot spring fed pool on the roof of the building. We swam in the warm bubbling water and looked around at all the Gregorian architecture including the pretty Abbey neighboring us complete with flying buttresses. The steam rooms were another treat! The cylindrical chambers were filled with steam in the scent of eucalyptus or lavender. After one gets over the initial shock of walking into a solid wall of moisture and gains their bearings, your stress melts away and you can lay on the bench in utter relaxation! From Thermae's website, they describe the steam rooms having, "A central 'waterfall' shower, interspersed with fibre optic lighting, provides a variety of sensations from the lightest misting of water to an invigorating tropical shower." The Bath Spa is dripping with peaceful opulence. I can't recommend it and the city enough! The Gregorian architecture here is stunning. It was so mysterious walking around at night and seeing the old Roman and Gregorian architecture glowing against the inky sky. We booked a spa/hotel deal through Duke's and were very much looking forward to the spa part only to find ourselves so busy up until our last day in Bath. Worked out perfectly to help sore walking muscles. We found the spa very relaxing and comfortable. Nothing was too crowded or full and patrons were respectful of moving through different spaces to allow a nice flow for everyone. My only minor issues were in one steam room, the oil fragrance was so strong mixed with the steam that it immediately sent me into a coughing fit. I lasted less than a minute in that room as I simply could not breath. Second, I wish one of the thermal pools was kept at a warmer temperature. Apparently Bath is the only location in Britain to have natural thermal springs which is the very reason for the city's existence and at the core of its development throughout the centuries. Thermae Bath Spa is a beautiful modern spa complex, very attractively designed to fit in with the lovely architecture that Bath is famous for. There are several hot pools, including a rooftop pool with breathtaking views over the city (day and night). You can also indulge in a good range of treatments - body wraps, massage, floatation, facials, hot stone therapies. These are certainly not cheap but you get the feeling you'd get a very professional service. Generally a spa session in the New Royal Bath (which includes access to all additional pools and cafes, but not the Cross Bath) costs £22 for 2 hours. We only had an hour and half so we opted for the Cross Bath spa session for £13 each. The Cross Bath is a small private open-air pool seperate to the main building, with its own source of hot mineral waters. As most people end up going for the main baths, we were the only people in the Cross Bath, and the privacy of having our own spa was very exciting, and we were extra chuffed because we'd paid loads less than everyone in the New Royal Bath, and we didn't have to share! A great treat and a lovely way to get the real Roman feeling of bathing in Bath. Might be a really nice place to have a sort of hen party with girlfriends. read more

My main criticism is that 2 hours is the shortest amount of time you can go in for but if you don't have any extras you can only go in the main downstairs pool, the steam rooms, and the open air roof top pool. The steam rooms were great, except Gill couldn't really stand the heat so we didn't stay there very long. The downstairs pool was good as a starting point but got boring after half an hour, and the rooftop pool was cool, nice view over the town, but again 30 mins is enough. One of the main attractions in Bath! Located right next to the ancient Roman baths complex, Thermae allows anyone to sign up for a 2 hour slot in the baths, pools and steam rooms. We waited in line before opening to reserve a spot for later in the day. There are no reservations for the standard 2 hour access to the spa. I think massages and treatments are pre booked. During check in, the staff gave us a wristband that serves as the key to the lockers and tab for the cafe, towel, flip flops and a robe. Then we headed to the locker rooms to change. I loved the steamy rooftop pool which overlooked the surrounding streets. One of the middle floors has several different steam rooms, infrared rooms, ice room, and hot and cold showers. It was so fun to be able to try each of the rooms during the two hour period. The bottom floor has another, large pool with spaces to buy spa treatments. I came out feeling relaxed a rejuvenated after several tiring days of travel. I wish I had something like this back home. No pictures, cameras, phones allowed throughout the spa. read more

We are americans vacationing in UK. We read about this award winning day spa described as a superb example of blending past,present and future ... and as the only place in Britain where you can bathe in natural thermal waters, just as the Romans did 2,000 years ago. For curiousity sake our whole family dared try it. We werent disappointed. We are giving it a 5star rating. The thermal water is very soothing/relaxing. Theres no chemical smell of sulfur or chlorine at all . So natural or you can call it organic. Also we enjoyed the Wellness Suite , complete with ice chamber and infrared sauna. It is very clean and the staff are very nice. You can buy your swimsuits there or bring your own. They will provide white robe and towel, and slippers. The slippers are yours to keep. My husband and I were in Bath for our honeymoon and decided to try the twilight package at Thermae. First, they market it as mineral waters with healing properties. The water was typical chlorinated pool water. If you can get over that, the rest is amazing. The rooftop pool gave you gorgeous views of Bath. The food at the cafe was amazing, a dish and beverage were included with the package. When you check in at reception they give you a wrist band with your dining time so you don't have to worry about waiting for a table. When you arrive to the cafe they give a dry bath robe so you're not dining wet. After dinner we tried the aromatherapy rooms. My only complaint here is the room that is supposed to be arctic cold is just a tub of ice chips in a room with blue uplighting. The pool on the lowest floor has a lazy river current that didn't seem to work too well, so we did spend most of our time on the rooftop watching the sun set. read more

If you perceive this location as a relaxing spa, you're going to have a terrible time. If you think of Thermae Bath Spa as a typical European tourist attraction, then you won't be as disappointed. If you make a reservation for one of their treatments, you can actually skip the long queue which wraps around the whole building (boasting a 90 minute wait). Unfortunately, the treatments book up quite quickly, so I highly recommend booking them in advance. The facilities are quite limited in their offerings: Two pools (one on the rooftop), two steam rooms, one random light room and a 'sauna.' I put the sauna in quotes as it wasn't much of one, but more a room with heat lamps installed on the walls. The rooftop pool is obviously the main attraction, with views that go for miles (quite picturesque). However, the pool is quite packed, and you can't really move around without bumping into someone. It's quite gross if you think about it, all these people jam-packed into a super warm pool. Overall, given how small Bath is, I think Thermae is worth popping in during your stay. However, level-set your expectations and wear comfy shoes for standing in that queue! read more

Absolutely delightful experience. Really helpful guides to each room available everywhere. Me and my partner went to the Roman Baths first for an extra hour on our visit which I highly recommend for nice long soaks. Even in rainy weather the rooftop is absolutely divine as you can get a great view of the city. If you already have a swimming pool back at home it's not worth it! massage treatment is not included and you cannot take pictures on the roof top wish I knew before buying this and wasting my time. Over all this is a good treatment it's just there is an extra costs for the massage :( which is what I was looking forward too. And the guy upstairs kept harassing me to not have my phone out even though I just had it in my pocket. Rude AF! And he was just following me and looking at me it was annoying this was a guy who was working the roof top. I get it I would never record others but the reason he started harassing me I did wanted to sneak a pic of the view before going in the pool area so it was literally at the stairs, but if you're planning to take pics of yourself in the roof top it is NOT Allowed idk how some people manage to do it but after experiencing this I was treated unfriendly I normally have great experiences but this was not a good one and I'm sad because it was a treat for myself for my bday oh well we learn. i have been to the bath spa a number of times over the last 10-15 years but the last two times were disappointing. you can't take your phones in so I can't provide pictures but the ice room now just seems to be a giant problem ice container which everyone is supposed to just jam their dirty hands in and grab ice from. there is no scented cold mist or whatever the verbage states outside the room. the room which is supposed to look out onto gardens now have mostly tatty light boxes were images once were and have now been scraped off. shower buttons were literally hanging off the walls by their electrical wires. no longer do you get slippers (oh the economy!), many of the jets weren't working. I took my friend for her birthday but I think this will be my last visit. Maybe spend time fixing the broken bits rather than buying expensive pouches to lock your phone away. read more

My sweetheart of a mum booked us a trip here during our Christmas jaunt to England. It was the second time I've been to the spa (the first during mum's birthday 10 years ago), and it was just as lovely this time. Being used to spending 8hrs at Scandinave I was a bit surprised that we only got 2hrs in the baths, however we had a massage booked and had lunch, so ended up being there for almost 5hrs (lunch and treatments pausing your actual spa time). I'm not really sure how they keep track of how long you're in there, but we never felt rushed. The rooftop pool is really the main event here - you're in a luxury, modern pool looking out over the gorgeous old rooftops of Bath, and right out into the rolling countryside around. It doesn't get any better than that! The jets must be on a timer as they turned off and on fairly frequently. The water was a little chillier than I would have liked - it was a colder day - but when it started drizzling it was perfect! Nothing like getting lightly rained on when you're cosied up underwater. The different scented steam rooms are a great idea. I found some of them to be a little too hot, but the eucalyptus was absolutely my favourite. The rain shower in the middle was lovely, as were the cold showers on the outside, but I did find the space to be a little dirtier than I remembered. I understand it must be hard to keep a steam room mildew free, but it made me a bit uncomfortable to see it. The lunch we had was fantastic, really impeccable, and not too expensive either! The hot stone massage I had was fun and unique, very enjoyable. I liked the relaxation room afterwards, and the tea that was provided. A great experience overall - I'd definitely come back! read more

Let's get something clear first - if you are looking for a genuine relaxing spa treatment, this tourist attraction is not for you. However, if you are looking for something to do in Bath, and you are ok bumping head to head and butt to butt half naked, then this place is for you. Secondly, since 2015, the package here has changed. Bathrobe, towel, and slippers are now free of charge if you book the spa, which means the cost for the spa has gone up - at minimum it's a two hour booking for 35 GBP a person. If you book their massage treatments, then you get the spa for free prior for two hours. You walk in after you pay, and they give you a bracelet that you have wear on you all the time. You use the bracelete to check in and go into the lockers. The bracelet will help you open and close the clockers and if you want anything extra, like food, you use the bracelet to tag what you purchased and pay when you check out. The locker room might be the worst part of the entire experience. It's huge and filled with lockers - it actually feels like you are changing in jail or a camp with people going in and out being in your way. It definitely was not relaxing. Once you are done with that portion, you shower and then have the remaining time between the two pools and the steam room. One rooftop pool and one basement pool. The rooftop one is pretty neat to go in the winter. The steam room has four giant pods, each pod with a different and way to strong aroma. There is no sauna. The whole thing felt quite unsanitary and our robes were stolen from the cubes we placed them in in the steam room. The water was great though, always at the perfect temperature My sweet boyfriend booked aromatherapy massage treatment for me here for my birthday and the 50 minute massage was actually pretty soothing, although not deep at all. We went early at 11am to the spa as my massage appointment was at 2pm and the pools were not that busy. By the time i went in my massage, my bf said the pools were elbow to elbow, and by the time we were out at around 3:30pm, the lobby was packed with people waiting in line to get in - so go early and not on a weekend. Overall it was a great experience, and you definitely feel like napping from the steaming. read more

I think this place, being the only natural mineral spa in all of England, may warrant a curiosity visit. However, as an overall relaxation destination, it tends to disappoint. (See reviews on TripAdvisor.) First disappointment was the charge of 9 pounds for towel/robe/slippers, on top of the 22-pound fee for 2-hour access to the two main pools and to the steam room area. (They throw in an additional 15 minutes for changing/showering/hair drying time.) You can always bring your own terry, if you knew this in advance. Second disappointment was the absolute crowd on a random Saturday. (The screams from silly girls getting hit by a cold shower spray and general socializing really reverberate all over the spa, regardless of whether you're in the outdoor pool, indoor pool, or the general steam area.) Third was the water temperature. Too tepid for my taste. I had to get out after 10 minutes to keep from shivering. All the pools are the same temperature, the attendant said, including the "silly" one called "Hot Bath" (which is only available to treatment patrons.) I couldn't get a massage appointment, but I'm thinking the "Hot Bath" would be more quiet than the other pools. The hot steam rooms were perfect to warm up again. One was only mildly-warm, and the over-heated people went there. I couldn't differentiate and pinpoint the specific notes that made up each aromatic steam room, even though they were supposed to be different, as posted. I was surprised -- and yet, not -- at the black mold growing between the glass panels of the steam rooms. I don't know what's up with some of these people. I'm minding my own business, eyes closed, in one tiny section of the pool, where I'm hoping to pretend to relax, when these amorous couples just bump into my splayed-out arm, essentially anchoring my arm to the edge of the pool -- and they remain there! (I had to hang on to the edge because the exchange of water in the Minerva Pool created a current.) I look around, thinking, "Hey! There's space there! And there! And there! Why here!?!?) Foot baths -- only way to soak any part of your body in hot mineral water. Small hair drying/mirror station before you exit the facilities. No sink to wash your hands before you leave, if you chose to use makeup and/or hair products before exiting. This space was designed for mass processing yet is still beautiful.
