See the glass atop the building ? That's the site of the naturally heated open air rooftop pool (cameras not permitted inside)

This is how I spell Aaaaah: T-H-E-R-M-A-E-B-A-T-H-S-P-A If you've toured Bath's historic Roman Baths you may have developed a hankering to experience the city as the ancient Romans did. Thermae Bath Spa is as close as you can come these days but thankfully it satisfies the desire. Though the spa offers the expected facials and massages they also have a 2-hour deal that'll get you into those naturally-heated waters containing 42+ minerals. Even better, there's no sulfuric smell as can often be found in natural baths. For a cost of £41 apiece (£46 on weekends) you can pre-book a two-hour time slot here, giving you access to all of the common facilities which include: * Open Air Rooftop Pool * Minerva Bath + Whirpool + Hot Bath * Wellness Suite (Roman Steam Room, Georgian Steam Room, Infrared Room, and Ice Chamber) * Secure lockers, towels, showers, robe, and changing room . I'll admit to spending the majority (all?) of my time in the Open Air Rooftop Pool. The combination of the view, the chill wind, and the warm waters was positively enchanting. But all of the other features here are also created using the same waters which emanate from beneath the town. Thermae Bath Spa is an adults-only experience and though one reviewer here reports it being crowded, dirty, and unorganized, my experience was the polar opposite; none are words I'd use to describe any part of the place. Other stuff: * Walk-ups are allowed but only if there is room available so best to reserve in advance. * Bring a swimsuit and flipflops. * To ensure privacy, all phones are placed in secured containers at time of entry and not removed until exiting. Not seeing a single phone for a few hours proved rather wonderful. * Stop in at the cafe and they'll add 30 minutes to your stay. Pay your cafe bill as you exit the facility; no need for cash or cards inside. If I'd gone to Bath and failed to visit Thermal Bath Spa I'd have left disappointed. I left here in a blissful state, serenely pleased to have experienced the waters of Bath.

Lovely and relaxing. There's much to do on each floor, I especially enjoyed the aroma therapy massage, at first I didn't think it would do much because of how light it was but my quality of sleep drastically improved. I was so relaxed afterwards and the rooftop bath was wonderful and warm. They have different saunas and one really helped with my breathing, it was all brilliant.

Really enjoyed it! Before I visited Bath, I googled it a bunch and one of the most intriguing photos I saw over and over was of the rooftop pool that looked out on the historic buildings. The photos don't lie, it really is that amazing and cool. I made a point of reading a bunch about Thermae Spa to find out prices, best times to go, etc... We drove into Bath and went on a Thursday late afternoon. We arrive around 4:30pm and there was no line. From what I read, there is often a line, but with the unusually warm weather, they said it wasn't very busy, so we were able to walk right in. We paid for 2.5 hours of Spa and pool time and it was worth it, but not cheap. We also rented towels but not slippers and robes. The changing area is unisex but there are secluded rooms you can change and then your wrist band gives you access to a locker that easily fits all your clothes and a bag. Don't bring luggage here as there is nowhere to store it. We changed and headed to the downstairs pool. The lower level pool was lovely. It had currents that pushed you around, noodles you could use to effortlessly float with, and a pool within a pool that had lots of bubbles at times (timed bubbles on/off).I enjoyed that pool and could have spent hours in it. It never felt over crowded. We then went to the rooftop pool. WOW. The view is fantastic, the water is warm, and it's a popular pool. Just look at the photos and you'll see why people go here. Relaxing on a sunny warm day with super modern meeting old world Bath was amazing. Both pools have _very_ easy entry in and out that mobility impaired people will even have an easy time with. Gradual large steps with big handrails. The aromatherapy chambers were cool. There is a floor with a large room with 4 distinct chambers of aromatherapy. Each one has its own scents and in the middle of the four was a huge ceiling waterfall shower (on a timer). I really like the eucalyptus chamber but didn't love any of the others. The rooms were essentially saunas, with a certain scent and color. You can spend as little or as much time as you want on each floor and most people go back and forth from floor to floor. There are stairs and elevators. I loved my experience there, so why not 5 stars? Bathrooms and showers are located on a different level than changing rooms. Weird. The cost isn't cheap and I didn't feel like the options were at all explained. I'm glad I looked online a lot before going to the counter, because the guy at the counter just asked for some money and sent us on our way. I wish we had been given all the possible options. I would recommend this place and as you'll read from others, if you book a treatment, you don't have to wait if there is a line. OR you can be really lucky and go when there isn't a line.

because you can't take pictures inside, i took a picture of the brochure

As a spa, it would get just 3-stars but as an experience (and for the price) it's worth 4-stars to me! We were able to spent 4 hours here. The open air rooftop pool was where we spent most of our time. The view is breathtaking and even with the rain, it was totally worth it. I wish the water was a little warmer. The aroma steam rooms & waterfall shower were interesting. I didn't spend that much time there but my friends did. Price: 2-hour spa session £25.00 4-hour spa session £35.00 Tip: if you took the train into Bath, be sure to mention it at the front desk or print your 2-for-1 coupon ahead of time (http://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/Content.aspx?id=5162). "...each participant will receive a '4-hour spa session' at Thermae Bath Spa for the price of a '2-hour spa session'." Extras: Towels £3 Slippers £2.50 Robes £4 It's recommended that you rent/use their stuff. You don't want to carry around wet towels all day and it's much more relaxing to have a robe to walk between each floor of the spa and keep your towel dry for the shower. Note: the shower is probably the worst part of the spa. There are 4 or 5 stalls, no doors, and co-ed area and not much soap/products. I don't regret not going on the Roman Spa Museum tour and spending the time and money here.

My wife and I flew into London in the morning and then drove to Bath. We were exhausted and tired from the long flight and drove. This was a great relaxation and stress relief. Staff was friendly and explained how it worked. The roof top pool was nice but the selling point was the lower pool and different saunas. A must use for any vacation in the area. Maybe even two or three times.

You can't help but feel like Daddy Warbucks when you're luxuriating in the ROOFTOP hot tub at Thermae Bath Spa!

This seemed like the most affordable place, 39 quid for full legs and bikini line. They mentioned a makeup artist in the salon that day so I could look at some make up after my appointment which I was ok to do. Cut to the actual appointment, the lady who was considered a professional didn't seem to know how to wax as she kept stating that she was making errors. She made me feel very uncomfortable as she was talking about dead chickens and the process of plucking them, I felt she was very cold and unfriendly. She continued to make me feel uncomfortable as I mentioned I was getting ready for my partner to come down where she stated that she doesn't feel comfortable waxing someone who is doing it for someone else's pleasure....? Right. Once my appointment was over, I was greeted by this makeup artist who then asked to me take a seat whilst as she started to take my makeup off. I stated that I was happy to just look at the make up but she said it will just be quick, so I continued...come the end where she had put makeup on me, added up the cost of everything on my face and began to haggle me. I'm not a very confrontational person and I didn't feel comfortable to tell her I didn't want anything. So I explained the situation to the lady at the desk instead, where she had told me prices, damn. I went to pay for my scheduled treatment and it was now like 20 quid more??? I asked what for and they said that I had extra wax treatment...which I did not. She then told me that I should have come in on a student discount day...which I had no knowledge of after going through with until the appointment had ended. I felt extremely judged as the whole time all the staff where watching me. I would never go back here purely because of the unprofessionalism and the fact I felt completely taken advantage of.

This salon is not the quality you pay for. I was really disappointed with my afternoon at this…read moresalon. Upstairs the beauty department seems well run and has a nice waiting area. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming, but both of my wax treatments were not up to scratch and I came away with patchy legs and a wonky bikini line. Then I went for a restyle with the master stylist and came away an hour and a half later with barely any style at all. For at least half of the time in the hair salon I was waiting around and, though I was given a magazine and some water, the salon was not very busy at all to be sharing a stylist. Overall the treatments cost nearly £20 more than what was quoted to my partner when he had bought the vouchers for me, meaning I had to pay extra for my own birthday present! The worst was the handling of the situation. When I emailed to ask for my personal details to be removed, I hilighted the above as my reasoning and received a phone call from the manager, who happened to be my stylist. She accepted the wax was not good enough and offered for me to come and get them redone, but was so adamant that there was nothing wrong with the service she provided she spent the majority of the phone call being defensive and repeating the same points again and again despite my response. She didn't even comment on the misquoted price. My partner and I forked out three figures for a basic haircut and dodgy wax jobs. By the end of the long phone call, I felt so bullied down that I just didn't want to argue anymore. There's no way I could return with all the bad feeling left now. I have also found 5* reviews left by the management for their own business and all of their ratings are high on their website because customers can't leave a review.
