They offer a reasonable range of curative therapies, along with a few of the more superficial, 'faddy' treatments. The latter includes Hopi Ear Candles, which, having tried it once, I won't bother with again as I remain entirely unconvinced of the efficacy of the treatment, and didn't enjoy the experience. I'm also not a big fan of Indian Head Massage as I haven't experienced any perceptible benefits from the two treatments that I've had elsewhere. Prices are midrange, but vary from one therapist to another, so a visit to their website is essential unless you have managed to come by one of their flyers. Sessions can be booked with the individual practitioners, (a full list of phone numbers can be obtained form the well designed website, along with prices for the various therapies practiced), or you can use the messaging service on: 0117 9443173

I was offered a sample of their 'Rose Cream' which is really good and I would probably buy when I am in need of some moisturiser. This shop is however, slightly odd and I don't think i have really been in one quite like it! They have a good selection of products, however I can't imagine I would ever buy anything in here other than their moisturiser. The owners are friendly and very helpful. They also offer courses and workshops so you can learn more about making medicines from their products which is helpful if you intend to make anything.

In an age where people are looking towards alternate healing and opening their minds to different possibilities the Urban Fringe Dispensary is focussing on the healing power of natural plants and herbs. When one thinks about it they are largely the same ingredients as those used in medicine as we know it, but in their true form. With three treatment rooms upstairs the professional yet homely staff can ascertain any issues and problems you may have and suggest the remedies needed. Back downstairs tinctures, teas and ointments are made with a pestle and mortar using the raw ingredients. This is a well thought out return to an older style of thinking and a shop that is, in my opinion, very much worth the trip.

Alternative remedies are finally being shed the light that they deserve and institutions like Bristol Natural Health Service are flying the flag. No appointment necessary and very welcoming, I highly recommend this place.

The practitioners have always been courteous and genuinely interested in assisting the healing process, always careful to pay attention to the detail. In all cases the therapists I've seen have remembered the ongoing development of my various conditions or complaints without needing to be prompted. But it's the reception staff that have really endeared themselves to me. All mature women, they are really lovely, always warm and devoutly concerned.

The last time I was at Aqua Sana, I had the infra red treatment before having a Swedish Massage. Apparently the infra red treatment warms up the muscles so they can go straight into the massage and not have to spend the first 10mins warming the muscles. I'll take their word for it, all I know is that it was all amazing. There's a also a cafe area in the spa where you can buy light meals, snacks and drinks.
