We moved the area 3 years ago and I have come here because I trust the mechanics. I am not a "car…read moreguy" so I am naturally distrustful of mechanics trying to take advantage of me. I have checked their prices and labor costs and they match what I see online and at other locations. More importantly they do a great job of explaining to me what I need and why. Twice I came in thinking I needed new breaks and instead of taking advantage of me and giving me new breaks, they checked everything out and told me my breaks were fine (at no cost). Twice the were honest instead of taking advantage of me. I have had my tires and my wife's tires replaced and I felt they had a fair price. I stopped by one morning with a windshield wiper problem and a mechanic fixed that for free in under 5 minutes. So when my brother in law had car issues on a Saturday afternoon I took him here. They explained everything to him, quoted a price my brother thought was fair, and ordered the parts he needed for installation on Monday. They folks are friendly and I trust them not to take advantage of me which is everything I am looking for in a mechanic.

Marlins gave my car a full inspection and replaced a brake light for $10.00. The specific spark plugs that are spec for my car are Silzkar7b11 (Ngk). He also did not ask me beforehand nor tell me afterwards that he had installed the wrong part. In November my catalytic converter began to fail. The car being less than 8 years old and under 80,000 miles, it should have been under federally mandated warranty. However, the dealership informed me that because the incorrect spark plugs had been installed, that warranty was void. I reached out to Brad to inform him of this. He assured me that it was not the spark plugs, but due to excessive oil consumption. Over the next several months, he wasted countless hours of my time with his schemes to shirk responsibility for his mistake. When finally it became obvious these wouldn't work, he simply ignored me. I spoke with the southern stables receptionist no fewer than ten times trying to get ahold of Brad over the course of many weeks, and he never got the courage up to call me personally back and take responsibility for his actions. I ended up having to pay for the converter myself out of pocket. This is the kind of service you can expect at southern stables: ALL shine, NO SUBSTANCE! I'm sure Brad will have some windy reply to this, and I'm sure it will be more promptly returned than my phone calls, but this is the last bit of time or energy I will spend on southern stables.

This is my first time using Yelp and was so stressed because my regular mechanic is my friend and he was on vacation when the brakes went out. I felt so much better when I found people who would help me . Special thanks to Charlton at C&A Automotive for making me feel at ease and gave me a great deal . It turned out to be the brake job from hell because of the poor workmanship of the last owner . An hour project turned into a 3 and a half hour nightmare. Charlton worked his ass off and kept a good attitude . We're both talkers and that helped our mental health. Lol I can't recommend to highly. You need a car repair done he's the man to get.

Charlton messaged me back within 15 minutes. I explained that my throttle dashboard light came on, and Charlton said I might need the $70.00 diagnostic test to turn it off and determine the throttle problem. Charlton also asked me about the size of my engine. I scheduled an appointment and canceled it because the throttle light went out. Perhaps it was the below-freezing temperature and my attempt to drive my vehicle without sufficiently warming it up that prompted the throttle light to come on, I will definitely contact C & A when my vehicle does need servicing. I appreciated the messaging that helped me determine what my vehicle needed. What's valuable? The excellent customer service in fielding my throttle concerns is worth noting.
