They answered all of our questions thoroughly and made my mom feel comfortable every step of the way. The Emsella chair itself was easy and comfortable for my mom to use. She went for a full round of treatments and while it wasn't a complete cure, it made a meaningful difference. My mom noticed she wasn't needing to go as often, had better control than before, and it became an important part of the overall treatment plan that helped improve her quality of life. One of the biggest changes was at night. Before treatment, she was getting up three or four times every night to go to the bathroom. After completing the treatments, she was sleeping much better because she wasn't waking up nearly as often. I have been getting Botox, fillers, and other cosmetic treatments for 13 years, since 2013, from…read moreplastic surgeons, dermatologists, nurses at med spas, home/office Botox parties at locations throughout Ventura County and Los Angeles. I am far from inexperienced when it comes to cosmetic treatments. My nurse, Elaina, came in with pre-filled syringes containing what I was told was approximately the equivalent of 60 units of Botox in Dysport form. In my experience, the amount needed can change during the injection process, so other providers I have seen have typically had additional product available if needed. Which she did not. I have always paid after treatment, before leaving. This time, Lizzie came in with a card reader and asked me to pay before treatment. When I explained that I had always paid afterward, she told me they had changed their policy because someone had previously received treatment and left without paying. I understand businesses need policies to protect themselves, but the way this was handled made me feel as though I was being treated like someone who might do the same. I was also told that "everyone" pays beforehand, and that's how all Med Spa's work, which was inconsistent with my previous experiences there and every other place I've ever been to. The nurse was then ready to inject me without asking whether I wanted numbing cream. I had always been numbed for Botox and all injections. They made me feel like it was my job as a patient to ask for it and numbing creams are not normally offered unless requested. She then applied very small amount of numbing cream which normally it's lathered on my face and although I was told she would return in 10 minutes, she returned almost 30 minutes later. When she began injecting, she never asked me to animate my facial muscles. In my experience, injectors typically have you raise your eyebrows, frown, smile, etc., to assess muscle movement before deciding where to inject and the exact amount needed. Eventually, I started making the expressions myself between injections so she could see where I was forming lines and where my muscles were moving. Throughout the appointment, Elaina mentioned that she teaches Botox classes to other nurses. But based on the overall experience and very poor results, I do not trust the experience she claims to have. Nor did she have the confidence of an experience injector. She also mentioned that this is a brand new vile of disport and should kick in faster and last longer which contradicts them saying I haven't waited long enough for the final result. Unfortunately, the results have been significantly uneven. One eye still forms lines when I smile while the other does not. There is still considerable movement in my "11" area. One eyebrow barely lifts and sits lower, while the other is elevated at rest, moves significantly more, and creates a line above it. The overall result is noticeably asymmetrical and weak. I have never received this high amount of neurotoxins before, especially with the results being as weak as they are so I contacted the two practices I had most recently visited: I received 40 units at one and 48 units at the other. Both produced significantly stronger, more even results, and neither required a touch-up. I attempted to discuss my concerns with Lizzie, but I felt her responses were dismissive and condescending rather than addressing my concerns as a longtime client. She invited me to return multiple times and have the same nurse address the issues, but after this experience, and how I was treated, I do not feel comfortable or welcomed returning. I understand that cosmetic treatments do not always produce perfect results and that touch-ups can be necessary. My concern is the combination of the unusual appointment experience, lack of what I consider a thorough assessment during the injection process, the way my concerns were handled afterward, and the final result. Unfortunately, after sporadically going to Bloom Med Spa over the years, my most recent experience was so poor that I will not be returning.
