The place is clean, welcoming, and stylish. It was an overall amazing experience!! I also bought a dry brush for exfoliation and so far it works great. An awesome deal that Kasey offers is $48 Brazilian instead of $60 when you come in before 4 weeks. What a steal!! Highly recommend to anyone, 10/10 in all aspects. I've been coming to Kasey for sugaring ever since my first review and I have had consistent, positive experiences. Last time I got sugared Kasey referred me to Natalie for a hair cut and color and I am in love with my new hair!! Natalie is easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and professional! I enjoyed my experience with her and my hair looks fabulous. I had previously DIY box-dyed my hair from blonde to a dark brown, which washed out within a month or so, and she brought me back to the dark that I really wanted. I also did a split-end treatment that left my hair looking silky smooth. My previous stylist had also cut my hair a little funky, but Natalie fixed the choppiness and now it looks perfect. Her pricing is absolutely reasonable and she really knows best. I'm a forever fan of Sugar Junkie!! Great people and great service :)

Unfortunately, my experience at the Ventura location has been consistently disappointing due to one receptionist I've encountered repeatedly since 2019. Each time I visit, I am met with unnecessary pushback regarding promotions or discounts- despite them being valid offers sent directly to me. Instead of a smooth check-in or checkout process, these interactions often turn into awkward and uncomfortable exchanges in the front lobby. I am routinely made to feel as though I'm doing something wrong or "trying to pull a fast one," when I am simply using legitimate promotions provided by the company. During my most recent visit, I attempted to use a promotion for 50% off a new service not received within the last 12 months. When I mentioned this, the receptionist immediately responded in a short, dismissive tone, stating, "that's not a new service for you." I clarified that it had, in fact, been over 12 months. She sighed and reluctantly said she would "see" if the system would allow it only for the discount to go through without any issue. The interaction didn't improve from there. After paying, I waited for an envelope to leave a tip for my waxer. Instead of offering assistance, she passively pointed to a tray and told me they were "over there," without even looking up. The entire experience felt cold, dismissive, and unnecessarily uncomfortable. While I understand that everyone can have an off day, this has been my experience during every single interaction with this employee over the years. At this point, it feels less like an isolated incident and more like a pattern of behavior. It has even made me question whether there is a personal issue, or if this is how all clients are treated. Waxing is a personal service and, for many, a luxury due to the cost. The front desk experience should reflect professionalism and customer care- especially as it sets the tone for the entire visit. Unfortunately, that has not been the case here. I've hesitated to write this review for a long time, but after repeated negative experiences, it felt necessary. If this location is struggling with customer retention, I strongly recommend evaluating front desk interactions, as they are the first and last impression of your business and they matter. I wish I had taken down her name, but she is a red-haired female.

Someone met with me in person to answer questions and go over pricing. I also met through a FaceTime call with a nurse practitioner to find the service that is just right for me. Botox injection caused eyelid droop, no correction offered…read more I had a Botox appointment at LaserAway and the injector hit a nerve during the procedure. Shortly after, I developed noticeable eyelid drooping (ptosis), which has caused facial asymmetry and functional issues. I returned to the clinic 10 days later seeking help and was told that the issue cannot be reversed or corrected, and that I would need to wait for the Botox to wear off -- up to three months -- while living with a visibly drooping eye. I was told I'd be emailed about prescription eye drops to temporarily lift the eyelid, but no actual corrective treatment was offered. Botox does not simply "wear off" overnight, and being told to wait months with a medically caused facial issue due to injector error is unacceptable. There was no meaningful accountability, no solution, and no reassurance that this would be prevented for other patients. This experience has been distressing and has affected my confidence and daily life. I trusted LaserAway with my face and expected competent medical care. Unfortunately, that standard was not met. I strongly recommend anyone considering Botox here to research carefully and understand the risks, especially if something goes wrong -- because based on my experience, LaserAway does not take responsibility once damage is done.
