Yanna is a master at her craft. As someone with what we can refer to as 'problematic hair' finding a stylist that I can feel comfortable with has always been a difficult journey. Many times have I left a high end salon after reassuring the stylist that I'm happy with the result and then proceeded to cry on the way home, both for how my hair looked and the significant dent in my bank account that I had hoped would allow me to walk away feeling confident. Leaving after my first appointment at Tre Bella salon with Yanna, I once again found myself close to tears but for the first time, they were tears of happiness and an all around sense of relief. Not only did Yanna understand exactly what I was asking for with minimal direction from me (I'm quite sure I was entirely unhelpful when it came to expressing what I wanted because I wasn't sure myself) but she found a way to give me the style I wanted while working with the natural flow of my hair. There was no, "use these ten products and spend hours applying heat and then maybe you'll get close to what you want your hair to look like) that I had become so accustomed to. I felt like a new person as I stood from her chair and the gratitude I feel goes beyond that of just being pleased with a haircut. Yanna helped me to discover a new, more confident side of myself that I had been too afraid to give a chance. (It was a very drastic hair cut and a huge change for me.) This is why I will drive from Sacramento to Auburn to see her, also having shared this experience with my sister and fiance who feel quite the same way. From simple to extravagant, I have seen no limit to what Yanna is able to do with all styles of hair. Gretchen has been doing my hair for more than 25 years. Even though she moved all the way to Auburn I still come to get my hair done from her. She has been cutting and hightlighting my hair. Now that my natural color is more grey than brunette she is doing my base color as well as highlighting. I love what she does for me. She makes me look and feel great! read more

So in February I posted for recommendations on a stylist in Auburn who was comfortable cutting ladies short hair. (My cousin back in our Buffalo, NY home cuts it when I am there. And since we have been in Auburn for a year I have continued to drive nearly 2 hours to Pinole to get it done.) I got some great feedback. Thank you all! Several people directed me to Tre Bella Spa and Brittany Freeman. Well I got to see her yesterday (with about 8 weeks of regrowth...I looked like a really fuzzy saltNpepper Qtip. Brittany is wonderful! What a great light and energy! She took her time, listened to what I wanted, looked at pictures of my good old cuts..and the bad ones. And I was so pleased. I would send anyone looking for a new stylist without hesitation! I waited till the morning to post this because that's when I really know if I like my cut or not. GREAT pedicure from Quincy.. She did all the special stuff (including paraffin wax) and then beautifully decorated my toes. She is a TRUE artist. Many compliments and I just got them done today. I told her to do whatever she wanted (it was just the mood I was in "usually conservative") and she did something I never would have picked for myself (confirmed by my 16 year old daughter), and I LOVE it. Afton Swesey is, by far, the best masseuse I have ever known. She is very knowledgeable about her practice. I am completely at ease, going to her to have a massage. Tre Bella is located in an old house that has been remodeled. I found the atmosphere calming and the staff friendly. As I am in my sixties I chose a Restore facial from Gayleen, the owner. They use natural products that allowed my skin to feel moist, replenished. I can attest that now, three days after the treatment, my face still feels softer. The hand, facial and scalp massages allowed me to really relax. Overall I found the experience very positive and I look forward to my next visit. read more
