I desperately needed my hair done and couldn't get an appointment anywhere. Someone (I can't remember her name) was extremely helpful to me. I stopped in without notice and she gave me a phone number of someone I could possibly get an appointment and some other names of salons who might take me. When it turned out that none of those options were going to work for me and because she followed up to ask how it paned out she told me she could work me in, despite her books being full for the night. She did a wonderful job on my hair and she was very knowledgeable about her trade. It's kind of scary going to someone you have never been to before and trusting them with your hair. I appreciate the way Julie listens to my ideas for my hair but suggests modifications based on my hair type and color. For example, she was able to tell me that if she highlighted my hair exactly as shown in the photo I brought in, it would look stripey because my hair is so straight. My hair looks great!

I needed to find a new stylist. I put it off for so long that I was resorting to cutting my own hair. Finally, I read reviews for local salons, I admit, I tried other places first. No one could fit me in, so when The Vineyard said yes, I could see Zinnia, I snatched it up and hoped she was as good as the other stylists named in the reviews. Well, when I first arrived, the owner offered me my choice of beverage, then gave me a tour of the salon (gorgeous!) and introduced me to all the other employees and services offered. Truly, I want this woman to decorate my home. A few minutes later, Zinnia was ready for me (I was early, so she was easily on time, maybe early). We had a discussion about what I wanted, she seemed to understand, to my satisfaction, what I wanted. Cool, let's go. I then was treated to what I would call a spa treatment. Really! My head, ears and neck were massaged until I was nearly asleep. Then we moved "when I was ready" over to have my hair cut. Zinnia has such a wonderfully gentle touch! I can't stress this enough. No hair pulling at all (and I have tangley, curly hair), no combs catching your ears, no fingernails raking your cheek.... just relaxing, quality, precise haircutting. And she's SO nice! Fun and friendly conversation. I'm so glad those other salons were booked. I found the best place, ever. Oh, and my haircut was beautiful! read more

This is my second time I have tried to write a response to the review left by "Julie T". I hope you print this one. I do not know her personally but happened to be a client of the same person who did her hair. I followed her appointment and had arrived but had to wait until she had finished her appointment that had "run long " so heard their conversation that evening. I witnessed a stylist working very hard to make a client happy. I saw this client hugging the stylist thanking her for all she did to fix her hair. I did not see what she looked like before BUT she left looking VERY pleased and promising to pay her later. I do not feel that this young girl represented herself honestly or correctly. I saw a young lady that was very thrilled with the outcome of her treatment. I do not know what happened to her after she left the Vineyard. Maybe she should have been prepared to pay her bill that night like the majority of people that seek a professional hair treatment. I'm assuming this young lady needed more time because her hair needed to be corrected. More service equals more time equals more money. LET'S BE HONEST WHEN WE WRITE REVIEWS!!!!! Maybe in this day in age of the internet its too easy to misrepresent the truth. I have always had excellent service and care at the Salon. read more

Just moved here to Auburn and was looking for a new place to get my hair cut. Looked at yelp and found the Vineyard salon had good reviews. Additionally, Sarah's name popped up frequently as a go to stylist. I made the appointment and brought in a picture and asked Sarah if she could cut and style my hair like the picture. Great Job Sarah! I would definitely recommend her. I had been to one other place a few months earlier with the same picture and the cut was horrible. I take my wife, daughter and myself to have our hair done at this salon whenever the time comes and I never get anything but smiles from the both of them. I have to admit, with a beautiful back deck overlooking their young mini-vineyard, I often catch myself with a grin. I always know from my longtime experience that my services will be top notch, but now I know that the ambience is perfect for feeling pampered, in a very upscale Napa-style way!
