John Deere 595 backhoe (2018) broke a 2 year old Deere 17046 hose on left stabilizer because the hose was too short; as a consequence: it kinked and broke during normal use. A new 17046 hose can be found for as little as $50, however it would have the same problem all over again. I called my local Deere dealer who referred me to The Radiator Depot. Apparently Cody, Jessie and the other folks here do aerospace fabrication and use top quality parts. Sure, the cost was considerably higher than buying an OEM mass-produced Deere hose. (Almost double). But after the 2 year old factory hose broke due to tension: OEM replacement was simply not an option. The Radiator Depot does CUSTOM fabrication. All that I asked for was 3 more inches of length plus strain relief on one end. Not only did the team at Radiator Depot deliver that: it was done in less than 24 hours AND they used BETTER QUALITY parts than the OEM factory. I buy Deere because I want quality and willing to pay for it. Deere 17046 hydraulic hose line is 3000 PSI burst pressure rated. (good) The Radiator Depot used 4000 PSI burst pressure rated hose. (better) I call that above and beyond improvement. Absolutely enjoyed the transaction. Very friendly, great service, support, knowledgeable staff. Highly impressed with Jessie and Cody as I gave less than ideal descriptions, but it came out even better than I had hoped for and faster than I could have expected. I would have been happy paying the same price with the same quality because the length and strain relief should ensure no future problems. I would have been fine having to wait for the part. My focus is quality, durability, reliability. However getting better quality is simply like icing on the cake. And getting it within a day? Yeah, it costs a bit more, but I feel that it is superior quality, it is custom fit to my situation and it is done fast. Fast and quality are 2 exceptionally desirable traits. No, not cheap. But when dealing with heavy equipment (or vehicles): cheap is not the preferred solution. I need something that will function and last, not some cheap solution that will leave me stranded and out of work/losing money. The Radiator Depot can do top quality custom fabrication even better than original quality even in world class heavy equipment. Over the decades, learned a few things about tools and vehicles: 1. Always buy best quality available 2. Always get bigger/stronger than expected need. Quickest way to break something is to ask it to do more than it was designed for. There are a couple other tool/equipment factors that are not relevant, that I will omit to avoid confusing the issue. Radiator Depot fits both the wisdom of buying quality, and also the wisdom of buying over-built parts with better than minimum capability/capacity. I am going to sleep a lot better and feel a lot more comfortable using my equipment, knowing that I can get better than OEM replacements from Radiator Depot as my factory hoses wear out. Was there for a radiator and ac service. Was told hoses were bad and would be additional 800. I checked with our regular mechanic and he said they lied about the price on the parts and they were over charging us. They also said they thought a head was cracked. The technicians were not knowledgeable, and the blonde woman was extremely rude. I asked for my keys and she ignored me. She told the tow truck driver the keys were in it. When I pulled up to the shop my phone connected to my jeep so they had the key on. When I got home I noticed all 4 windows were down. Shadiest mechanic in the Antelope Valley, customer beware! They took 5 months to compleat the work on my truck, and it broke down less then a week after having the work done. Took it back for the warranty work and the truck overheated after they fixed the coolant system. I will take my business elsewhere and recommend everyone dose the same. read more

I was taught how to continue to care for my car to get the best out of it without an extensive repair, and what they could do for me including a range of collateral repairs that could need addressing during the process. I surprised them by choosing the full repair process even though we all knew the car was old enough that it was a risk. They entire staff was very thorough and helpful. Timeline was clear. I can't even get to my appointments. They are over charging people, and I know these reviews are made by people that work their. They are criminals in my eyes. They don't deserve any stars. They were very rude to me while I was there with my wife and new born. They complained the whole time that I had a big block instead of a factory Oem motor in the car. I brought it there for the cooling system. They really need to concentrate on the task at hand. They recommend I buy a new radiator. Had my 2005 Honda towed there because it (slightly) over-heated and my trusted regular mechanic was out of town for 3 weeks. They told me they performed hydrocarbon test (twice) and it showed I had a blown head gasket, no question. When I questioned it because the car had never reached a dangerous temp and only driven @1/2 mile "hot", they told me it could still happen because it was an old engine with a lot of miles on it. They quoted me very high price to do either a top-end overhaul or put in a new used engine. When I towed the car to another mechanic that I trusted and he inspected it, test came out fine and he couldn't find anything wrong after driving around all afternoon. Wait... It gets worse ;-) When I drove the car back to give 'em hell the next day, they shmoozed and placated me, said they'd do the test again while I watched, and if the car passed, they would refund the original cost of the test. As they were running the test, I noticed they seemed to phutz around a bit (something wasn't fitting right/etc), and when test fluid color staying blue as the engine idled (like it should if gasket is NOT blown), proceeded to tell me the engine needed to be "stressed" and revved it up until it changed to green in front of my eyes, "proving" the gasket was blown. When I relayed the story to my trusted mechanic, he explained that by revving the engine, they'd literally forced radiator fluid back up into the test "funnel" and made the blue fluid change to green. I've Googled the test and now understand how it works/should be performed, and The Radiator Depot definitely took advantage of my ignorance and screwed me... TWICE ;-) read more

I will recommend Radiator Depot. I took my car because my ac was blowing hot air. I wasn't there very long and they came back with what was wrong. So I took my car back in a couple days later to be repaired they could have done it same day but I myself wasn't ready. However when I picked my car up the air was blowing so good it was refreshing and it's still blowing the same. Yea so try them out the work is great and the staff was nice. read more

I ran across Radiator Depot in 2019 when my van's A/C needed repairs. I have been going back to them ever since for a number of different repairs. Their staff (Dante, Cody, Angela, et al) are very customer centric and are always polite and helpful. The mechanics are also top notch and do very good work. I give their team my highest rating!! TIP for those who are handicaped: If you own a handicap van or other handicap/accessible vehicles, you do not have to take your vehicle to that High-priced rip-off place in Van Nuys! Nor do you need to risk bad and overly expensive repairs at a shop that does not regularly repair such equipment. Radiator Depot will do their best to repair what can be fixed at a reasonable price and they have built up expertise in working on handicap equipment. They fixed my automatic wheelchair ramp that was on the fritz, my kneeling mechanism, my automatic door, power transfer seat, and more. Buying motors from Braun can be very costly, but the same motor can be found elsewhere for half the price. I have worked with them on where to find parts at a decent price for handicap vehicles. When it was time for the next upgrade to my A/C system I went back to The Radiator Depot. I installed an aftermarket universal condenser in my '69 Nova and needed some new hard lines to connect to my existing plumbing. I also needed one of the existing lines modified. This work all required fabrication and welding of aluminum tubing. I showed Marvin what I needed and he took care of it. When all of that was done Marvin recharged the system and my A/C blows colder now than it ever did. These guys know what they're doing. I'm very pleased with the work they do. read more

If there was an option for no stars I would certainly give them that. I took my car in because I kept getting bubbling in my coolant reservoir every time I turned the car off after using it. Automatically, they recommended a pressure test for $20. I said "ok". Then they said we found a leak and wanted to do another $100 test. I was very skeptical because my car had no coolant leaks. They were also very shady in their explanation of my leak. I hesitated and finally said it was fine. They told me I had a leaking gasket based on their "tests" and my cost of repair would range between 1300-2000 bucks. I refused to believe that and glad I did so because I did my own research online and found the valve to my radiator cap had broken and this was my problem. A $15 radiator cap was all it took to fix my problem. Instead, of the extensive tests they ran and the ridiculous price quote I got. They never told me my radiator cap was broken. Also, they had to have checked it because they needed to remove it to do their worthless expensive tests. Bottom line....these guys are crooks and don't buy into their BS. They just want your money. Don't let their name fool you. "The Radiator Depot" is much more than that! I have an older car that I am hoping to preserve for many more miles. In addition to regular maintenance, The Radiator Depot has completed several major repairs including replacing the ABS system and most recently diagnosed, identified and fixed an ignition problem that was not related to the starter, ignition or battery. This was an intermittent problem that no other "garage" was able to diagnose, including dealer. Their work is exceptional. More importantly they treat you as a friend. After a pretty good first experience with this shop (they replaced my radiator and "noticed" that I had a small oil gasket leak) I took my baby back to have the leak repaired. I had been quoted $141. An hour later, my MINOR leak (which I didn't even have to add oil between oil changes) needed $650 worth of work. I asked for time to call around and was told to just come pick it ip. The mechanic didn't like being "accused of" taking advantage of me! Feelings? This is a business! I picked up my car, and the very next day my engine light came on! I have NEVER had that light on!
