He said he would send me a written estimate and schedule the repair. After that, I never heard from him again. I followed up multiple times by text and email and received no response. In July 2020, we had a few businesses come to give us estimates on correcting our basement water…read moreproblems. We already had been using a sump pump and there were French drains that weren't performing properly. We decided to use Rapid Response as a medium cost estimate. Rick himself came to give us the estimate but on the day of the work, it was just the young guys who would do the heavy work. We had asked to have the location of the sump pump hole moved because it had been located right next to the boiler. We thought that was a wise move. The work was done quickly, within two days. The new discharge location seemed to be a good choice. But we were disappointed that the discharge pipe was only placed literally inches below the ground. Which absolutely guaranteed freezing in the winter. Now there is a freeze discharge above the ground but that in itself created a new problem. Within three months of the installation, we had three sump pumps burn out! Christmas morning that year, which we had rain and 60 degrees, we had 6" of water in the basement and had to call the fire department to pump us out! When the alarm had gone off on Christmas Eve that the sump pump wasn't working, attempts to reach Rick went unheeded. He did finally arrive after the fire department came to help us and installed a different sump pump. As an extra precaution, a few days later he installed a second sump pump in the same hole as a back up. We are happy to say they have lasted so far. However, last spring as the ground was still frozen and the discharge pipe was still frozen, we had a great deal of rain. The sump pump was discharging twice a minute. However, with the freeze discharge being right beside a basement window, as much water was just going back into the basement as was being discharged! I called and emailed pictures to Rick for help....but still have never heard a response. This begs our concerns if either of the sump pumps fail that we will get a response from Rick. And this spring, we are realizing that the water being discharged from the sump pump is flooding our septic drainage fields. Contacting our septic company, they felt that a responsible basement business person would have asked us about where our septic fields were. And would have directed the sump discharge in a different direction. Long story... BEWARE dealing with Rapid Response!

They used satellite images to determine the repair and their assessment is that you need to replace it. Please check the reviews on Reddit for more honest reviews about this company. In addition their communication is slow, their phone is never answered and they don't call you back to discuss details or answer questions or explain anything. Edit after their response: While they say they came to the property, they never did. They gave us a quote from satellite photos and never even saw the rain damages which was the reason I reached out in the first place. When they said they couldn't reach the tenant, I immediately provided them with the photos and videos I had. The tenant also called them to follow up and was informed that nothing else was needed. Yet I had to email again days later to ask if the quote was ready. I emailed asking for someone to discuss / explain the quote to me and got a response asking for a time to call. I shared my availability and have not received any calls. I tried calling them yet there was no answer. Finally 2 weeks later we had to call another contractor come and take photos of all the rain damage and provide a proper quote. Then when I shared this review the owner immediately called me. I've attached the communication that started on the 8th of July. I would like them to provide me with the images and proof/report from the onside inspection they did. They are lying, as they never stepped foot on my property to see and assess the damages.

They charged me over $500 to put a few drops of caulking on top of already existing screws (picture attached.) Sure enough, the roof leaked again, this time I climbed on the roof to see what has been done. That is when I discovered that all they did was to place single drops of Caulking on top of already existing screws. I hired another roofer and had the skylight sealed and the leak stopped, even with the recent heavy rain. This new roofer charged me only $350 for the work. My mistake was that I trusted Star Roofing's words, and did not go up on the roof to check the work myself. Lesson learned! The awful thing is that not only I would never trust this company ever again, but now I can't trust other good workers who actually do what they charge a costumer for. Yes, unfortunately one BAD APPLE, ruins the whole box.
